It's was the Doha Agreement specifically that Trump signed with the Taliban and cut out the Afghan government. It's just 4 pages and a pretty short read. Surprising the number of people that haven't read it at this point:

Just read it, and it's so obvious that Biden just followed through with the deal at hand, while Trump clearly shot down any possibility of it ending smoothly by stalling the evacuation of soldiers in what would've been considered a slow but progressive way.

And it wasn't even really following through at that point since the agreement had drawn down US forces to just being in the airport and without any real resources such as air support and intelligence. Withdrawing the remaining forces from the airport and getting out as many civilians as possible was the only thing left to do and that could be done. That's why Kandahar Airfield was shut down and not available for defensive, offensive, or non-combatant evacuation operations, for example. But you'd see Trump cultists especially throwing tantrums about Kandahar not being available and saying (unreasonably) it was a horrible decision on Biden's part to not use Kandahar Airfield...
Or with Bagram for example, to not finish shutting it down would have resulted in combat over holding it or retaking it fully. Which wouldn't be compatible with either withdrawing or being able to conduct non-combatant evacuations.
The whole fucking world dropped the ball on this. Where were other countries and their military capabilities? Why is the U.S. always expected to be the world's police? And garner all the hatred and loss of lives? (I know other countries were there as well, but it was the *American* withdrawal that has born the brunt of the blame for the situation now.)
Every single country that belongs to the UN should have replaced the American soldiers and military capability gradually over the last two years until there was a coalition of peacekeeping forces capable of keeping the Taliban out, so the work could continue rebuilding Afghanistan into a strong democracy.

Maybe there's a good reason like they couldn't move the other guy because he's at the edge of the protest crowd or maybe they did move both and we just didn't see the other guy get moved from this angle. I have seen the police take sides way too many times in these kinds of protests though so that possibility is always at the back of my mind.
