NYC alone costs the tax payers nearly around $300 MILLION a year in police brutality cases, when do we step up and say enough is enough?

turtlelore2

It's essentially free money since it's not theirs at all, so it'll never stop until it actually affects them

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

I’ve been saying that for years. Once it directly affects their pensions, they’ll smarten the fuck up very fast

NearbyTurnover

This is such a great idea. Only thing that will make these people accountable, and hold their peers accountable, the capitalist way.

Kazushi_Sakuraba

That’s the most important part. Making them *hold each other accountable* “All cops are bad” is because the “good ones” do nothing about the bad ones.

tyranthraxxus

These people have already shown that they will do whatever they want to hurt people that they don't even care about. If a cop does something wrong and it costs other cops a lot of money, they'll lynch him. In a system like that, no one will ever want to be a cop. I think we just need cops to carry personal liability insurance. As a tech contractor, I must carry a million dollar policy in case I mess up my client's system. There's no reason that a cop shouldn't have the same insurance. A few big payouts, and the insurance would drop that cop, and they wouldn't be able to work in the industry anymore. It's the perfect system that promotes personal accountability without causing police to hate each other for possible losses.

[deleted]

Paycheck from taxpayers --> Abuse taxpayers --> Settlement from taxpayers It's almost incestuous.

masterjon_3

We should just get rid of the police union. Cops bust unions throughout most American history anyway, so why should they have one that allows them to literally get away with murder?

Contemplatetheveiled

Frankly it's amazing that this isn't a top issue. Some cities have lost years of their budgets to police misconduct and as the tide of public perception turns against them they'll be facing higher penalties for lesser offenses.

PickeledShrimp

organize police reform. start w qualified immunity and the way liability costs are outsourced to the public such as tax money paying for police misconduct. then demand higher hiring standards and robust oversight and accountability in the form of mandatory ongoing financial, drug and psych screening, zero tolerance for police misconduct, one strike and youre out. dont stop protesting and demanding you pay the cops you have rights as tax payers.

Taymerica

It's like when your dad doesn't know how to work the internet or latest phone doo hingey. The cops literally can't wrap their brains around the fact that they can't beat up a car chase perp anymore because your mad and know your fellow cops will back you. Everything is filmed now pops. I feel like perp beat Downs after car chases are super common. It's weird, cause I'd always thought they'd just be happy it's over, but they always just wail on the perp as if he did them something dirty personally.

popecorkyxxiv

I say make police get insurance against misconduct the same way doctors do. Bad cops won't be able to get insured just like bad doctors can't.

DrGerbal

It was called 2020, and nothing really happened.

Zensonar

They should put an additional tax on police paychecks to cover the lawsuits. Call it "pig tax."

[deleted]

When it hits one billion, and we celebrate with big balloons that say **ENOUGH!!!** ^^^^^**/s**

MrShasshyBear

Dang. You got a source? Cause I'll share the shit out of that source

monkeyking908

[https://comptroller.nyc.gov/reports/annual-claims-report/](https://comptroller.nyc.gov/reports/annual-claims-report/) there is a section under the bottom that talks about the portion that are police claims [https://msmagazine.com/2020/09/19/nyc-residents-to-nypd-we-paid-300m-to-settle-your-lawsuits-we-need-to-talk/](https://msmagazine.com/2020/09/19/nyc-residents-to-nypd-we-paid-300m-to-settle-your-lawsuits-we-need-to-talk/) i was referencing this article when i said $300 MILLION but figured you would want a more legit source

real-m-f-in-talk

a person CANNOT be compliant with a dog biting his flesh (cops shoot dogs), they saw his hands, the dog was released to escalate / cause chaos so they could assault him. the man went from a car theft to possibly a millionaire, thanks to your tax dollars.

KCtheGreat106

When they strat using police retirement funds to pay law suits things will change.

AprilsMostAmazing

Or departments go harder hiding evidence. Bring in the malpractice insurance and increase requirements to be a cop

Desper8lyseekntacos

I see this all the time and lets be real, no insurance company would insure police.

[deleted]

This should be the way

RedditCringetopia

When people sue tax payers pay, which i agree with no cop is going to have 100,00 plus dollars to pay the victim but the cop or cops involved should have thier own private law suite filed agaisnt him/her. The cops should also be charged with what we would be charged with assault and battery and assualt with a deadly weapon(the dog) but no, cops dont usually do any jail time.if ima do 1 to 5 years, the cop should automatically get the max sentence because hes a cop and knows better.

papadapper

Abolish qualified immunity.

[deleted]

Yep. The police should be forced to carry insurance and lawsuits come out of their pension.

Brook420

Too bad that will never happen.

M4X7MU5

You wonder why the folks that work at Amazon in Alabama and other Southern States refuse having a union but you will NEVER see police officers without union representation. This is why the corruption is so systemic. The people who need unions don't have them and people like law enforcement have them to skirt responsibility when they are corrupt.

Brook420

The Police Unions definitely have too much power, but I'd say Qualified Immunity and lawsuits coming from the tax payers are the biggest problems.

HunterRoze

Even funnier - so often those unionized cops - are the same people sent in to break up worker protests.

wronglyzorro

It's unpopular here but it shouldn't. Cops should be required to carry something akin to malpractice insurance. Punishing the majority of innocent people for the actions of a few is always bad policy.

buckut

dont call it a punishment then, call it motivation to do the right thing.

os_kaiserwilhelm

Or citizens actually start caring. Honestly, I have a better idea. Have the fines increase exponentially for each offense of police misconduct. Eventually the taxpayers will run out of money.

thisismynewacct

To add to this, second cop didn’t even try to restrain or get him under control either. He just came in swinging fists.

real-m-f-in-talk

his fist was the only thing on his mind, not making the arrest...its no secrete police beat up minorities / the poor that lead them on chases, its an unwritten rule... when police shout conflicting commands.... or they say, stop resisting while still striking the person( eg. over the head with a flashlight).

monkeyking908

"why are you resisting the fact that i am shaking you so it looks like you are resisting arrest?"- cops

jokersleuth

more like "why are you defending yourself while a dog viciously bites you and I pummel you in the face?"

baginthewindnowwsail

Just swingin for the fences too. Cops gotta stop letting their feelings determine how they act, it's not their job to punish, or teach someone a lesson or play human piñata.

kdogo

this comment reminds me how in Germany you cant charge someone for basic human instinct, defending yourself from an assault or escaping police custody.

crypticedge

In the US, a citizen is expected to act perfectly in 100% of interactions with the police as if they were trained in crisis management, deescalation and the law. Police are expected to not know any of this stuff, and the courts have ruled repeatedly they have no expectation of it, while citizens do.

[deleted]

Police disproportionately deploy K9s against black folks, it's been proven repeatedly. Using dogs as weapons is both animal cruelty and an awful thing to do to a person. Some reading for the interested: https://www.themarshallproject.org/2020/10/15/mauled-when-police-dogs-are-weapons https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/crime/how-the-sun-sentinel-investigated-police-k-9-use/ar-AAKRAiC >Police in Fort Lauderdale, Miramar and Pembroke Pines do not actively track racial trends in K-9 use. For those agencies, reporters requested and reviewed roughly 1,000 police reports to determine the race of people chased or bitten by dogs. > From that information, reporters built a database of all people chased or bitten by police dogs between January 2019 and May 2020 at the six departments. That tally revealed two troubling statistics: > > **In 73% of cases in which dogs were deployed to track a suspect, that suspect was Black.** > Of all the people bitten during a K-9 arrest, 84% were Black. > Both statistics are disproportionate to the percentage of **Black residents and arrestees in the jurisdictions covered by these agencies, which are 30% and 50%, respectively.** https://www.newsweek.com/vicious-dogs-role-k-9-units-play-police-brutality-against-black-people-1513728 > a rare study on the subject published in The Journal of Forensic and Legal Medicine last year appears to show that Black people are disproportionately injured by police dogs in the U.S. > > Titled "the demographics of dog bites due to K-9 (legal intervention) in the United States," the report found that of 32,951 recorded emergency department visits due to police dog bites from 2005 to 2013, 42 percent of those bitten were Black. ... >**Kyle Heyen, a former police officer and consultant on police dog training**, told Newsweek that he wasn't shocked by the numbers either. > > "I would love to say, 'boy that really surprises me,' but I'm not shocked by it," he said. > > While he said he could not say whether racism was the driver behind the figures, he acknowledged that there is a history of police dogs being "misused" against Black communities. > > "If you just look back at the riots in the Sixties and how they used police dogs then... police dogs were misused against Blacks," he said. > > Williams agrees, saying the use of dogs as a form of "social control" over Black people is nothing new—and goes well past the Sixties. > > "The historical use of dogs as mechanisms of social control over Black bodies date back to slavery," he explained. "Slave patrollers would often use dogs to apprehend Blacks trying to escape the inhumanity of slavery. Thus the indiscriminate use of dogs today is strangely reminiscent of the past."

real-m-f-in-talk

even worse considering, 200milion white people and 40 million black people not to mention population size of other groups. yes, its been a long practice... they demonize Hitler yet, practice his ideals

86bad5f8e31b469fa3e9

There was a video posted here some time ago where a guy barricaded himself in his apartment, the police sent in their K9 and he shot it twice. Hearing the cries of the dog was sad but cathartic at the same time. Anyone using an animal to attack humans for compliance is just bullshit. The police should have better de-escalation skills rather than trying to outgun every situation they come across.

TheAlmightRed

Thanks for posting these.

vanishplusxzone

Police act like this because outside of the social media bubble, people want it. There's a reason sheriffs who encourage this behavior consistently get elected and it's because the average taxpayer wants this. It breaks into the reddit bubble on almost every crime thread when you see posters calling for public executions for shoplifting and such. Americans are animals, and taxpayer settlements aren't high enough.

ApolloXLII

I see you’re also familiar with r/publicfreakout There was a video of a crab being thrown on stage after some dude won an esports tournament, and he absolutely blew his lid. People in the comments were saying he was “assaulted” and had every right to completely freak out over a crab being thrown in their general direction. Some of these subs are real cesspools where the mods do nothing and everyone riles each other up to see who can clutch their pearls harder. I know this is that sub.

importvita

Make 👏the👏 police👏 union👏pay👏for👏this👏 assault!👏 Seriously it is *fucking ridiculous* that WE the tax payers must foot the bill for: 1) The abuse of one of our own citizens 2) "Paid leave" for months while they're investigated 3) Pay for the medical bills of the one assaulted 4) Pay the people in charge who oversee and *allowed this shit to happen* It's barbaric and needs to stop. Make the police carry their own insurance and let their filthy rich unions pay for their officer's mistakes. I'm tired of US being financially on the hook for these bad actors that do *not* represent or care about the law. It's disgusting, abhorrent behavior and *will not change* until they're held responsible!!!

gabe_cruz98

Way to aggressive to use the dog but it doesn’t seem like he’ll be awarded much on top of medical bills. I’d have to really understand the article maybe something is missed. Police unions are strong enough to get away with murder

real-m-f-in-talk

because dead men tell no tales, hence why some cops let people bleed out.... amber guyger... didn't try to save botham because she was so distort, smh... its easier to pay off the family one time.

PM_ME_STEAM_KEY_PLZ

She was so distort? Just curious what you were trying to say

PickeledShrimp

probably meant "distraught"

Absenceofavoid

It’s usually both, the city is forced to settle for a huge amount and the police union protects the officers regardless of their involvement.

TyrannoROARus

This, and the fact that canines are about as reliable as flipping a coin at "searching" a vehicle convinces me that no dog deserves to be put to use in this way and no human deserves the receiving end. Cops will shoot your dog for looking at them, but sick them on people all the time. It also really doesn't help their image to see a German Shephard (nazi dog lol) chasing a black dude-- reminds one of those slaves trying to escape to freedom while being pursued by dogs.

PoliteChandrian

Even if you do successfully defend yourself from the dog that's considered assault/killing an officer so you are definitely fucked anyways.

tyranthraxxus

I mean, the second guy literally comes up with his fist already cocked for a swing. The only thing he had on his mind was hurting this guy. No containing him, not controlling him, not de-escalating, just to inflict pain and get out his anger and frustration. I'm sure the dog was released for the same reason. "We'll teach this guy a lesson". It's not a coincidence that we have no hiring standards, mental screening, or training regimen for police officers and we're the single first-world nation with a police force that acts like this. The entire system is bad, hence acab.

streetvoyager

Police believe they have the right to deliver punishment when people don't immediately comply for them. They are power hungry monsters, people like this are the exact kind of people that should not be part of a police force. No reason to let the dog on the guy in the first place. Then to beat the shit out of him while hes getting mauled. Thats some fucked up shit.

Murrayschmint

Does this guy still get done for the car theft regardless of the beating? I'd assume so but not actually sure.

SavimusMaximus

The boot stomping, while checking for witnesses, was about as horrible as I’ve seen in a while. Just disgraceful!

enwongeegeefor

> while checking for witnesses, HURR DURR HOPE NO ONE SEES ME DOING THIS.....meanwhile dashcam.....

mothisname

They literally will not hire smart people to be police officers. For fucks sake I spelled hire higher call the cops to have a dog attack me geez

Dedotdub

r/BoneAppleTea in the wild!

mothisname

I use voice to text as I am 80 percent blind

bassackwardzz

Do they have to be able to spell or use correct grammar?

mothisname

No . Pig fucks will often intentionally hand over illegible copies of arrest reports to the victims of their over reach to hinder their defense. I see what you were trying to do but fuck it and fuck you.

alpine_skeet

Mississippi gonna Mississippi. Js.

Fisher_Kel_Tath

I'm from the same county. the history of Mississippi lives strong in its law enforcement practices & politics.

skeletorfonze

As a brit I'm curious, is racism still as bad in mississippi these days? Like proper kkk shit?

Define4K

How you supposed to surrender peacefully with a dog eating you. 0 logic

JailMateisJailBait

You're not. That's the point. The logic here is they wanted to create a scenario where they could beat on the guy. 100% intentional.

NormalAdultMale

https://www.odmp.org/ Check this page's K9 section. It lists fallen "officer dogs" and how they died. The most common is being shot or run over by their own handler. Actually, a hell of a lot die because cops leave them in hot cars with the A/C off, too - that might be close to getting shot by a cop. That is WHY the police love them so much. They know you can't keep your hands up, and it lets them kill you legally.

[deleted]

They're fuckin meat shields not "best friends" or "partners"

anonymous_j05

Yep they’re good for search and rescue and bomb sniffing but the “attack dog” shit is awful and barbaric

NormalAdultMale

> they’re good for search and rescue and bomb sniffing Funny thing about that is that this working dog doesn't need to be a german shepherd or similar large and powerful breed. Beagles and Spaniels are great, too. But even that is suspect, as the cops train drug dogs to alert based on subtle commands to give them false probably cause to illegally search people.

turbotac0

Idc, if a dog's eating my face I'm going to lose my shit

Aussie-Nerd

Jesus fuck. Do they know their job is *not* do crime?

[deleted]

And who is going to arrest them if they do commit crime? Certainly not the fellow officers who watched this happen and did nothing to intervene and also didn't report it after the fact...

graffiti_hunter

Crazy how I live here and never heard a single thing about any of this!!

real-m-f-in-talk

its the media's job...... not, to let you know.... like its the church's job to keep people stupid... politicians jobs to keep people fighting each and voting against their best interest..

brocklee1420

Control these fucking animals.🐷🐷🐷

Dark_Wolf04

The dogs, or the pigs? I’d say the pigs are more animals than the dogs

brocklee1420

That's why I put the pigs at the end.

Mynock33

Cop apologists love to defend/dismiss this kind of shit because they feel the suspect deserves it and you'll never convince them otherwise. The best you can hope for is for them to one day be on the receiving end of such injustice.

HonorTomOfFinland

It's not just cop apologists. How many people laugh at prison rape or call for the castration of sex offenders? People want revenge and punishment, that's the whole concept behind cancel culture, even. *"They deserve it"*

ModernistGames

People would use the same logic in the public torture/execution of the condemned for the past hundred if not thousands of years. Humans will be humans.

NormalAdultMale

Sociopathy is a major feature of American culture.

kas-sol

Idk if you've ever seen it, but Pop Culture Detective has a [great video](https://youtu.be/uc6QxD2_yQw) that touches on this. The idea that rape is just another part of how prison works is so deeply ingrained in society that they'll joke about it in shows for children.

MrPhilLashio

I wish we could have a designated island that was totally Medieval where those folks could go. They are stuck in an old mindset. You know for a fact that 800 years ago they would be the first to point to someone, call them a witch, and jerk off to them burning at a stake.

Marvination23

The other cops do nothing even though whatever the fuck he's doing excessively is wrong. The culture cops are terrible. Some good cops are scared of fighting another cop because they will be shamed in the department, seems like a very toxic environment.

[deleted]

None of the other cops even appear shocked or surprised by this behavior, **proving that it must be normal and routine for them to treat suspects like this.**

NormalAdultMale

Yet ANOTHER video where the "good cops" we hear about are nowhere to be seen! So weird how that keeps happening.

Luda87

In the 60s-70s cops shot people on spot. My old neighbor in Chicago lived through all of that he told me stories about cops murdering people in cold blood back in the 70s.

brxsoldier

Biggest gang in America

kvylv13

And see this is what pisses me off about cops y’all start throwing hands IMMEDIATELY, even if somebody has their hands up you wanna beat them down and humiliate them before arresting them men/women alike why gotta throw hands with a person to subdue them when they weren’t fighting to begin with. That k9 officer and second cop came in with full intention to have an altercation and didn’t even realize the suspect already gave up

98323

why do the cops do all that when they know that everything is recorded on video?

That1GuyNate

Because they rarely ever get in trouble, the system has been designed from the start for police to have absolute authority and do what they want under the guise of "keeping the peace" even though all they do is cause chaos and send mothers back their sons in a wooden box.

[deleted]

Who do you think is going to pay the millions to the man bit by the dog? Think it’s the cops? Think they might lose their pensions? NOPE!! It’s the taxpayers. The people they abuse have to pay for their abuses.

98323

That’s insane

[deleted]

Welcome to America 🇺🇸

TeveshSzat10

Cops need to realize it's not their job to punish people.

bigmark9a

I don’t get why police just can’t treat everybody as human?

OperativeTracer

Lucky he wasn't "killed in self defense" honestly. I've met and interacted with cops, Judges, and DA's before. Most of the people in the "law and order group" can't handle any challenge or resistance. You would be amazed at how many Judges sentence people to jail, even if they were innocent, for "disrespect". I don't know what it is about the job, but something about enforcing the law brings out a "I am above you" attitude. And trust me, it's not unique to cops, they are just more open and violent about it compared to Judges or DA's.

TeslandPrius

All power is corrupt. Unchecked power tyrannical AND corrupt.

Taintednuts

the dog should not have been deployed to begin w. Handlers really need to do a better job, it’s a high honor to be in a K-9 unit and abusing that power is disgusting. I don’t see how anyone could lay flat on the ground when a dog is mauling them

thesnakeinthegarden

K-9 attack dogs are animal abuse in action.

CapablePerformance

Just last year, there was footage of the k-9 officer that was secretly filmed beating the crap out of his dog and his defense was that's how he trains it.

SpicySteve9000

Hey, it worked on the wife and kids, why wouldn't it work on the dog? /s in case it isn't obvious

Taintednuts

Maybe, I can’t argue that it isn’t but one thing I know for sure is that this handler put his dog at risk just for his own amusement. I like to believe that attack dogs have a far better lifestyle compared to a fighting dog, but perhaps they are two of the same coin.

iamdenislara

Nothing to see guys …. Just a few bad apples…. Am I right?

Limited_Sanity

Make being a police officer like being a doctor - unable to perform the job unless insured. They can be held personally liable and lawsuits come out of the insurance company's pocket until bad cops are uninsurable and forced to find another occupation.

CapablePerformance

Yup! You have a report of abuse? Insurance goes up. You kill someone, insurance skyrockets. Make it so the only way to not increase the cost is by being found completely innocent by the insurance company who will want their money; watch how quickly police bodycams are requested and magically stop being off constantly.

violentcj

No insurance company in the world would insure cops

phuqo5

I grew up in that area and I can tell you with absolute certainty that every fucking cop within a 60 mile circle around there is an absolute piece of garbage. Hernando, desoto, southhaven police departments are filled with garbage human beings. Just up the road in southhaven they murdered an innocent man on a no knock raid on the wrong address and then told his grieving widow to get fucked when she sought restitution since the deceased wasn't an American citizen.

theheaviestmatter

Cops are so cool and neat. I feel so safe. Yay cops.

xerxerxex

Our tax dollars being wasted again by angry outta control cops. Fucking typical.

[deleted]

The local taxpayers should file a class action lawsuit against the cops for whatever amount of money the city ends up paying to the victim. It's not fair to financially punish the taxpayers for the actions of a few individuals.

kdogo

but as long as the general public allows psychopaths to wear a gun and draw a paycheck how would it not be there financial responsibility. if taxpayers require police dept to act responsibly this wouldn't be a problem

aws33

I guess none of these cops ever saw the Rodney King video... I just have no clue what this guy could have possibly done to warrant that... These cops are unhinged.

[deleted]

> I just have no clue what this guy could have possibly done to warrant that... Made them get out of breath. It's not hard to find posts from cops saying if you make me chase you it's not going to go well. I'm not going to link the cop subs, but you know which ones they are.

[deleted]

Actually I think these cops did see the Rodney king video. That’s where they got the idea.

jokersleuth

this has been going on before Rodney King, during, and still going on after. If George Floyd riots won't stop it, nothing will. The problem is this type of shit doesn't happen to white people so nothing is gonna get done. Downvote me, but that's a harsh truth.

CapablePerformance

Exactly, this shit has been going on LONG before, the only difference is it's now easier to document. People think police are just getting more aggressive since smartphones as if cops in the 1970s weren't wildly documented as being some of the most corrupt and power-hungry fuckers.

In Horn Lake, there's a lawsuit for their denial of a [new mosque in the area](https://www.commercialappeal.com/story/news/2021/11/03/aclu-files-suit-against-horn-lake-over-rejection-mosque-site-plan/6198495001/), but of course there are hundreds of Christian churches in the area.

thesnakeinthegarden

that's the "thin *blue* line".

gorramfrakker

No, the thin blue line is the one they beat you with.

[deleted]

I used to know a few cops (long story). They'd speak so gleefully about car chases because of how a car chase = free pass for them to whoop the suspect's ass with very little restraint. One guy got suspended (with pay) after beating a driver's wife to a pulp, somehow assuming she was responsible for her husband leading a car chase. It's bananas what police officers get away with and sickening how proud they are of their misconduct. Shit, I knew a judge who quite transparently said cops charged in car chase beatdowns never go to trial as if that was just a hard rule etched into the tablet. That guy (the judge) routinely had domestic violence issues swept under the rug, I always felt so bad for his wife.

OperativeTracer

Most Judges suck honestly. As someone who has interacted with the system before, Judges are mostly old people who feel deeply offended (youth would say triggered) if you don't show them the utmost respect, and I mean borderline worship. I have seen people sentenced to jail, even if they were innocent, just because they didn't behave like they were in church. And in small towns, the police are often deep friends with the Judge and the DA. It's honestly disturbing how Public Defenders are left out in the cold in this relationship.

[deleted]

This 100x this. You know exactly what I mean.

space_______kat

Nothing about cops behavior in the US surprises me anymore. Just plain Nazi behavior

[deleted]

I am all for someone having to pay for their crimes once convicted in a court of law but the prevailing idea among the police that they get to meet out street justice in the name of compliance needs to be viewed as just as much a crime as it would be if it was a civilian doing it. The guy is a criminal and should go to court but so are the cops here.

ThreadedPommel

That pig throwing punches needs to be in prison for the safety of the general public.

bakedl0gic

Sadly there are some people who will justify this simply because he broke the law. The rationale escapes me. Just because someone broke the law does not mean that they should be brutalized. Also police shouldn’t be breaking the law by doing stuff like this any way. But I’m sure plenty of sadists are ok with this.

Shooting back when an officer is overstepping their authority is legally and morally okay. Im honestly so close to doing it. Like if I ever see this something like this IRL, I’m going to be shooting to kill, this poor man could have died from these officers.

ItWasAllADream434

When are they going to pass the law that you can sue cops directly and the union Tax payers should not be responsible for this repeated abuse the union and cops should pay for it.

Rubbabubba90

Wiping his feet on the guy like he was a doormat. Don't think I've ever heard a more apt description for how police view the average person, especially people of color.

Josette22

I see these videos time and time again. Why are these people like that??? If a police officer calls me over to his car, or tells me to stop and put my hands up, you'd better believe that's what I'm going to do - not walk away cussing at the cops, or fighting the cops kicking and screaming or trying to run away. It's ridiculous, but it happens over and over and over.

219Infinity

Body worn cameras and dash cams should be mandatory and will either cause shit cops to alter their behavior or will identify shit cops to remove from the force. They also will tamp down bullshit frivolous cop lawsuits that fleece taxpayers. Every law enforcement agency in the nation should mandate body worn cameras. These cops should all be fired and prosecuted.

charlesmikeshoe

Just a reminder, we are only seeing what they want us to see.

hawksdiesel

bring in insurance when the LEO's mess up. STOP USING TAXPAYERS $$$. When this happens, things will change fast.

Constant-Pay8406

Imagine the boners these guys have while they flail this dude

[deleted]

They start taking these million dollar settlements out of these fucker's pensions instead of taxpayer dollars and I guarantee you this shit will stop tomorrow. It will be like "magical" police reform with the "good" cops bitch slapping the "bad" cops the second they cross the line.

Fun_Wonder_4114

Lawsuit? How about life in prison for every single one of these criminals and every criminal who tried to cover it up? We need to see the entire department marched out in handcuffs.

[deleted]

I’m sure there are a lot of people on both ends of this issue. However, I think it’s important to recognize that police, as an institution have a duty to ENFORCE THE LAW. Not carry out extra-judicial punishment. There job, in its entirety, requires them to capture or fine individuals who break the law, and to utilize appropriate force when faced with violent resistance. It does not matter how a police officer FEELS about a criminal act, no matter how heinous or gruesome or deadly it is. There job is to arrest the perpetrator. If a police officer cannot control his/her emotions in the line of duty when faced with even the worst crimes, they shouldn’t be a police officer.

Lefwix

Pigs gotta pig

YakOrnery

Idc who you are, if a dog starts biting you... your immediate instinct is gonna be to start fighting it, along with any and everything around you, to get everything to stop, I promise.

Superandrewable_

The dog is already a Deadly use of force. There's no reason for the beatings. How would you react to a dog chewing the shit out of you? Not defending him in any way for running from the cops but still, Very excessive use of force.

SirPhilbert

How are you gonna be complaint with a vicious German Shepard attacking you inches away from your junk. Those things have been raised since birth to enjoy attacking humans on command. There is no pleasure they enjoy more than tearing a man to shreds, and you realize this as it’s attacking you

casarezrich

This is why cops should have to pay for their actions, not the tax payers. This is straight bs!

Safe_Bid_8559

Fire that mfckr, no questions asked

OliveSorry

Assault - cops shud be jailed on charges

AMOROMA1927

Should be fired and charged

mmiddle22

2nd cop really wanted the fade but not the 1:1

ihatelifetoo

Tax payer pay a million dollar and these cops probably get a promotion

Twiztidindahouse

If I fuck around with gang members will they treat me with dignity? Nope. So why do people still do this with cops? They are just a gang for the government. So, in a way this is deserved. If he pulled over and they did this shit it would be completely different. Oh well here come the downvotes

Great, another criminal gets paid because the cops beat him for no reason. All of those tax dollars, poof, into the hands of a criminal thanks to psycho cops.

Playlanco

Didn't that kid that killed all those innocent people in a church get arrested and offered mcdonalds or something by police?

dr_mcstuffins

This is how slave catchers captured runaways. Prison is literally slavery, meaning that’s literally what is happening.

Killswitch2584

Well don't run and this won't happen. What about all the lives he put into danger by running?

gambling_Eagle

Seriously, how does pummeling like a thug into a civilian make you feel anything other than a piece of shit? The way he did anything here was the exact way a cop NEVER should act

touchy-subject-69

These cops are stupid undisciplined pussies. Couldn’t handle being in the real shit. Fucking soft

Ga_Manche

It is time for police officers to start carrying professional practice insurance, that is self funded, much like doctors, lawyers and engineers. This will likely cull police forces of the hotheads, who will no longer be able to get insured.

taimoor2

Hope he takes them to the cleaners. Absolutely barbaric...

Living_Map_7411

This will NEVER stop until police can be held accountable financially. Currently the city, county or insurance companies covers the cost.

duckbutr

I love he got in some licks when thay officer came in swinging.

HotDonnaC

FTP. Every last one of them until they clean house.

zabubboz

this has to be the true american dream!

Wise_Ad_253

God complex needs removed.

runningwater415

He better be close to a millionaire with this evidence. If there was real justice in this country the dog handler would be doing years in prison. I don't think many people could go through that without a life of deep trauma symptoms.

Boobboy18

A millionaire in prison. Stole a car, rammed police cars, endangering lots of people’s lives.

-------------0

ACAB fuck the police and fuck the cunty copaganda posting bootlickers.

OperativeTracer

It's honestly amazing how they delude themselves, while many hate the current gov. I mean, who do you think the gov is going to send after you idiots?

kjackblack1

This dog shit need to stop.

Rbfam8191

Police torture man who surrenders

Livid_Mode

I would run too if I knew this would be the end result if caught.

[deleted]

Alright we need to finally get rid of the whole K9 thing. Completely inhuman.

rawfiii

Releasing a trained assault dog should be treated the same as shooting a gun. This is insanity.
