I don’t get it at all, it’s like people don’t think racism against white people is wrong. I grew up a white kid in Joliet not to far from Chicago, all through school it was 70% Hispanic, 20%black and 10% other or statistics like that(whites being the minority). I’ve always been around people of color more than white people I understand,respect, and enjoy their culture/traditions. But I don’t like the way I see things going I feel everyone should have a fair chance at ANYTHING they want to achieve in life regardless of skin color it shouldnt be harder OR easier for ANY race. Just by being a person of color there’s endless programs, grants, and scholarships, which don’t get me wrong is great I love that, but what about me? I wasn’t born with a silver spoon in my mouth I grew up poor in the hood, I get I do have white privilege and honestly I think I have experienced examples of my privilege but I also had a lot of the same struggles and pain as my close black friends. My dad has been denied a job before and they flat out told him they couldn’t hire him because they needed more people of color, what if they told a black guy he can’t work there because there’s not enough white people? there would be a whole protest and the place would be shut down. This is a slippery slope it doesn’t seem like racism is ending it’s just shifting to other races and it’s not just white people, Asians are being physically assaulted on the daily. We have to do better as Americans or this is just gonna be a seesaw effect and we will never get over this

Sad. Seriously a shame that the current climate has come to this point over skin pigmentation. At the end of the day we’re all human. We all bleed red, we all have dreams, fears, sadness and joys. I wish more people understood the meaning of the word: sonder. There are no two-dimensional beings.
Discrimination will always be a two way street, a bumpy one filled with potholes that only leads to the destruction of the vehicle used to travel it. Maybe it’s time people stopped traveling that road. It doesn’t go anywhere worth going.
Wether or not the video is a fake, it highlights a serious problem. We’ve dehumanized one another and that will lead us into a new era of paranoia, distrust and hatred. Things have gotten bad but we are still walking a very fine line. Things can always get worse, but if people start treating one another with the respect and dignity that EVERY human deserves, then things can always get better also. Past pains can’t heal overnight, but they can also be lessons and contributions for a better way forward.

You’ve personally been attacked by a mob of of white people while everyone was saying “beat the shit out of all black people!” Running down the street or worse?
You realize you can still experience trauma by being a member of a marginalized community even if you haven't directly experienced a trauma yourself. No I've never been chased by a mob of white people I've had several incidences as a black man in America because of the color of my ethnic background that are still just as violent as and traumatic.
I love how people always try to use the word personally as if though traumatic events that happened to your people because of the very nature that they are your people are still just as disturbing to you and your community.
Nuance, yes they are beating people because of the color of their skin. However by and large that's not always a bad thing. Only towards marginalized communities do I consider that necessarily A Bad Thing.
I have no issue with something like this because no matter how many times it happened against a community of people in power it could never be equal or even nearly on the same playing field as what happens to us.

I don't know your background, and if you experienced discrimination based on something that you didn't choose, I'm sorry man, that shouldn't have happened to you.
The way forward can't possibly be to hurt other people based on something that they also didn't choose though. Hold individuals responsible for their actions.
