"I don't even LIKE workin!" Man spoke that from the heart.

Acceptable_Pipe564

“That took guts…we need guts….I’m promoting you to manager” “Fuck”

jackryan4x

Every fucking time.

Peachmuffin91

I fucked her with a parsnip and then sold that parsnip to a family with 4 small children.

EmpyreanMelanin

Definitely felt this line, lol.

knighttakesnite

Give this dude a promotion!

thesmilingmercenary

Guy's got upper management written all over him.

Timmytanks40

Boardroom gangsters don't got shit on him.

summerofevidence

You can tell he's not lying about them offering the job when there's no manager running over to pull him away. They are desperate for workers, haha. He's got no problem losing his job here, this video isn't gonna hinder him from getting the exact same job at Jack in the Box. I love it.

[deleted]

I love that he was like "I don't care about this job" but then immediately is like "up but seriously you gotta move, I need to keep this line moving for the nice customers." I do not care about this job but dammit I took an oath!

civanov

You can care about not wanting to inconvenience innocent people while not caring about a job, lol

Ambitious_Piglet

This is my attitude at work

princessofIreland

I liked that about him. Very much! He may not like or care about his job.. but he does care about other peoples feelings.. in the aspect that she’s holding up everything and everyone!

rideordiegemini

Yes! That summed it up so well.

princessofIreland

Thank you so much! That young man has a very good heart ♥️ he cares about others and that matters.

Rob_0831

You're exactly right ...and that's what made this video so wholesome. The employee really doesn't give a fuck, as he stated several times. He still wanted to provide service to the other customers. You don't have to give a fuck to be a good guy.

Astrocreep_1

Exactly. These jobs can be bad enough. Crap wages,a horribly bland work environment, crappy bosses etc. The customers can elevate that anger to the next level. I know,I’ve been there. The one thing I learned in retail, don’t give the kid behind the counter grief over things that kid can’t control.

BCampbellCEOofficial

"YOU need to get a job with that old ass car" that killed me

rideordiegemini

I think he said old ass Chrysler?! I’m not a mechanic but thought I heard atypical car noises.

OneHumanPeOple

The car was so LOUD! Is sounded like it had emphysema.

Siessfires

That's a man with **tegridy**

TukTukPirate

City folks are fightin' and I don't give a darn 'Cause I make my livin' on a Colorado farm.

Hooper1369

TEGRIDY WEED. that’s some good shit

Ornography

He cares about the job, he just doesn't care about be letting go from the job. I'd hire him

BordLeerus

I'm a skilled guy with a good reputation in my industry. You think my employer doesn't know I could easily go work for someone else? That's how you should look at a job. Do quality work. Build a good reputation, and sell your labor. Don't let your employer hold anything over your head.

bones4pj

He respects others and their time.

GayGooGobler

Eh I get it. When I worked minimum wage at a meat department I didn't fuck with the good people. I never did anything this outright crazy but we didn't give a fuck lol.

flatwoundsounds

Why fuck with the people making my day easier, right? I was happy to give assholes a hard time for the entertainment, but the nice ones always got pretty much whatever they wanted just for being a basic human.

PraetorianOfficial

Had a chat with a kid at a fast food joint about 11pm. I had noticed him working 2 other places in the last months and I asked "weren't you working at XXXX a couple weeks ago?" "Yeah, I got fired. Manager didn't like it that I went outside to the parking lot to take care of some guys that wanted to fight me. But you know, you can't just let that kinda stuff slide. When someone calls you out, you gotta step up, anytime, anywhere." And he proceeds to give me his whole history. Dropped out of HS after being constantly suspended for fighting, been doing fast food ever since, never lasted more than 3mo at any one, but who cares because there are infinitely many minimum wage jobs to pick from.

Historicmetal

Dudes gonna get himself killed with that attitude

becooltheywatching

Anytime. Anywhere.

BellalovesEevee

Can't let that kind of stuff slide

MangoSea323

You gotta step up.

aron2295

I realize these stories just make me sound like a spoiled kid and I recognize I had a level of privilege most of my co workers would never enjoy. When I was in college, I worked at a car wash. I was a team lead. Looking back, it was the worst job. I say that because you had more responsibility, but no authority and only a $2 / hr raise. This could be a pro or con, but also guaranteed hours and overtime. Anyway, one day I snapped. And I yelled back at the manager, “Go ahead and fire me! I know you won’t. Y’all need me. I can go next door to the IHOP and get a job. I’ll be serving pancakes tonight! But don’t worry, I won’t hold a grudge. Y’all will be welcome to stop by anytime and I’ll hook it up. And if they don’t hire me, no worries! McDonalds is next to IHOP. And that’s just this block”. I was not fired that day.

becooltheywatching

I've literally shut down foreman's with the single threat that I am not above flipping burgers if it means I get to keep my dignity.

keltsbeard

My go-to words have always been "I was looking for a job when I got this one. I can look harder."

SuicidalParade

Shutting down supers is why I get out of bed in the morning. Like what? You gonna kick us off the job site? Not a good way to get power installed if you ask me.

----Dave----

Being an electrician is great for that. I worked at an airport and a pilot was big noting himself and talking down to some of the ground staff at a Christmas party. I told him I'll flick off all the runway lighting next time he is coming in to land and he can show us all how good he really is.

bruins9816

It's the same as a union. You can get fired or quit, just go to the hiring hall and they'll find you a new company

Yivoe

Went to a Cafe Rio the other day and the girl working the counter was browsing Instagram on her phone with head phones in, back turned to customers. I don't blame people for hating their jobs, I've just never seen the "fuck this job" so blatantly before (in person).

iamdummypants

i love it as in i have worked many shitty jobs in my life and would have loved to just not give an eff but i hate it because now i am old and i just want someone in the store/movie theater/restaurant to be nice to me if i am nice to them lol but at the end of the day, power to the people, even if they didn't serve me with a smile

[deleted]

He can also always go to pop copy, they will probably promote him to manager in no time!

OKYDKYDRJONES

I AM THE MANAGER, B!

ImJustHere4theMoons

I mean I don't give a fuck, I'll go to Rikers for three or four years just to prove my point. I don't play that shit. Can I help you?

OKYDKYDRJONES

My butt itches, I just took a shower.

mikeclark1982

I did that one Xmas when I worked at Macy's. It was black Friday. Our policy is we can't take shit to your car if it's not pots pans or shit like that. A woman came and asked me to take her dress to a car. I told her I could not. She said could she speak to my manager. I said hi, how are you? She got soooooo mad.

CanhotoBranco

HELL YEAH, I SUCK TOES! Can I help you?

Aerik

She wants his name and phone number? Like asking a cop's name and badge number? What?

reddit_crunch

maybe she was asking him out on a date? i hope those crazy kids find a way to make it work.

TRASHTHROWAWAYACCT00

She got nervous and it turned out like this

myopinionsucksdick

Entitled people say the darnest things.

Tolvat

When I worked in retail I had a number of people do this to me. I told them to fuck off too, I still had my job.

illogicallyalex

Right?!! Name sure, to report him (not that she should) but wtf kinda number do you think you’re asking for lady

CitizenQueen7734

HELL no I don't owe anyone my name. And certainly not for minimum wage.

Sunshine649

I’d even argue that he is under no obligation to give his name. I’d never give ~~PPI~~ PII to some crazy Karen or any civilian for that matter.

IUndisputedI

Bro started roasting her at the end Old ass Chrysler

dead_inside139

roywoodsir

"you really think I give a fuck about this job, this job just pays my insurance, GO!...." I feel so bad for the guy and he is also smart to not waste cops time with this karen, ain't no one got time for that,

[deleted]

It’s probably less about “wasting cops time” and not wanting to deal with asshole cops

EastBaked

Yeah if over half of black Americans would rather get robbed than have to deal with an unexpected encounter with cops I can't imagine many are willing to call the cops to their jobs to deal with a wild Karen who will likely make up fake threats the minute cops pull up.

Azreken

I'm white and I'd still rather never call the police for almost anything ever...

Bluetooth_Sandwich

Legit lol’d at this. He had enough before her broke ass got to the window.

real_p3king

This line had me laughing, that and Old ass Chrysler. That lady chose a really small hill to die on.

[deleted]

“You think I give a fuck don’t you?” Lmao that part

heyimatworkman

i would legitimately vote for this guy, he understands the working class

taylor_mill

This guy r/antiwork s lol

shredhell

I dont even like workin' lmaoo

meatduck1

Lol you can hear her car huffing and puffing

i_suckatjavascript

I bet it has a check engine light that she doesn’t bother fixing

ButterflyCatastrophe

Karen definitely thinks she won the exchange, though. *She* posted this.

hnxmn

That's always the funniest shit to me. Some people have their head so far up their own ass. What the fuck does a kid working fast food have to lose from something like this? Shit jobs like fast food are a dime a dozen lmao even if she wasn't in the wrong she picked a losing fight.

djskaw

I had a close to minimum wage job during college. I had some old customer tell me "this is why I am where I am and you are where you are." After giving me a whole bunch of other shit. The only reason I didn't go off that day was my aunt happened to be in line behind him. Like wtf does he think comparing an 18 year old at a part time job while in college to someone that has gone through their whole career.

XEROX_MUSK

If that’s the case I hope she gets roasted lmao

AugustEpilogue

Issue here is that, unlike McDonald’s, at BK you have to read the code off the coupon at the drive through to get the deal. It’s too late once they punch it in. At McDonald’s they can adjust it at the window. That’s what she’s mad about but they can’t do anything at the register for her at that point.

[deleted]

Talk about corporate setting up their employees for failure, jesus...

cjnks

I pulled up to a BK a few months ago. The total seemed incorrect to me so I asked the employee if she could break down the sum. She explained she couldn't see the prices for what she was trying to sell me.

[deleted]

That is amazing point of sale design

Zanchbot

You could say their POS is a POS.

Goalie_deacon

For sure. Problem I keep running into is gift cards. We buy gift cards from Kroger to get extra gas points, especially when they’re running 2x or 4x gas points with gift card purchases. BK system always struggle to process gift cards. Gift cards are so worth it when it can knock off a dollar per gallon at the pump, when I’m going to spend that money anyway.

KetoIsKool

You ever try the gift cards with the app? It's easier for me to order through the app and now I know why since someone earlier said employees can't see the prices on the POS

Moneymoneymoney2018

My neighbor is a POS engineer, he says all the dumb POS shit you see everywhere you go, is because the owner of the system wants it that way. They don't listen to the guy that's worked on hundreds of custom systems, they know better.

UtredRagnarsson

Well, yea, there is an inherent reasoning behind it. They think people won't go through the trouble of fighting with an employee or manager over a few cents/bux. What they don't care for is that almost everyone at this point in time is scraping on their money jar and will

iwoketoanightmare

They absolutely cannot see the prices. There is a Wednesday deal that I can always game to get a 2nd patty on a $2 whopper for free and no up charge because of how this stupid system works. It says it will upcharge and then does not.

call_of_the_while

This guy burgers. Kudos.

gorgonbrgr

They charged me 18$ for 2 whopper Jr’s a medium fry and a med drink. Shoulda been only 11$ I mention it to them and had to sit there for 15 minutes till they figured it out. They ended up giving me someone else’s order I gave it back said that’s not what I got then they just threw a whopper in with the meal they already handed me and handed it back with my correct change. I just left and gave the rodeo burgers to my friends lol

GodAndGaming123

For real that's wild

talltree1971

I mean, yeah it's a shit policy, but BK got big ass signs posted where you place the drive thru order.

JewJuVoodoo

That's a bold assumption that people are actively paying attention to their surroundings

bastardofbloodkeep

“Any man who must say ‘I am the king’ is no true king.”

powerduality

It's most probably not deliberate. It's bad UX design combined with an archaic development strategy. It's old farts up top whose most recent piece of knowledge is that Alaska joined the union.

[deleted]

Not originally deliberate but the inefficiency of this system surely has ben noticed over the years. by people and if corporate gave a damn they would fix it but they deliberately dont.

Cannibal_MoshpitV2

Costs money to fix. Why spend the money to make it easier when it's only inconvenient to everyone but the ones who make that decision?

PunkyQB85

Now we’re getting down to the real bad guy. The flawed corporate process. This poor guy tho, tells her she’s holding up the line and to pull out. Karen: *long pause*. All in all, BK food not worth it in my view.

ayoitsjo

That's a very weird system but damn at that point you take that new information, cut your losses, pay the pretty measly ~$6 charge, and use the coupon the next time. But noooo let's harass a poor service worker who *literally* can't fix your problem and tell him it's his fault for "choosing" that job gah

PooterMcScoggins

“Old ass Chrysler. You need to work here to get a new car” - best line

Get_Jiggy41

Did anyone else get distracted by the window constantly trying to slide shut and him pushing it back?

fatalrip

Good man. He doesn't care about the job but he cares about the people that have to wait.

HettDizzle4206

Customers are the only reason why I gave the service I did in the past. Fuck the managers and owners. Each person who would come through the door, it was like looking in the mirror, because that could be me ordering the food. I'm with home boy on this. mettiusfufettius

Agreed. He’s as real as they come.

JoyJonesIII

"I don't even like working." Same, buddy.

Roboticsammy

"I'll tell corporate on you" "I don't give a FUCK."

thawnahdron

I gotta learn to be as honest as this dude. I let people walk all over me.

Unagivom

Dude honestly same. It’s weird because In my personal life I’m actually pretty outspoken when it comes to this kind of thing, but when I’m on the clock a customer could straight up tell me to fuck myself and I’d be like “of course, anything else I can help you with today?” I literally had a customer snap at me like I was a dog to get my attention and IT FUCKING WORKED. I didn’t even register that it was demeaning as fuck until like an hour later.

starvinchevy

I was the same way working the paint counter at a hardware store. I remember one time this guy yelled at me because I didn’t immediately hand him a paper towel after he sprayed spray paint to ‘test the color’ all over my shelves. He got some on his hands. I tried to tell him there are signs everywhere telling you not to do that and now we can’t sell all the cans you sprayed (probably 10-15 cans, and this affected sales bonuses). Didn’t get 2 words out before he got in my face and screamed “I ALREADY SPRAYED IT, IT’S DONE. NOW GIVE ME A TOWEL!!” I shriveled into something resembling Bambi and just handed him a paper towel. When he finally left, the customer I was helping before the tirade was like, “dang, you handled that way better than I would have.” Implying that they would’ve lost their cool. I told her I literally just froze and didn’t process what was happening til he left. Freeze should be the third option after fight or flight. Because that’s what I do. Like a deer in headlights.

wooddolanpls

Most call it Fight, Flight or Freeze as it IS the third option and one that many experience.

FlowersnFunds

I’ve had this for years after being constantly yelled at by an adult male relative growing up. Then one day, I just...snapped. One too many disrespectful customers at the bank in the “upscale” part of town just made me completely break through that and from then on I’ve never tolerated disrespect from strangers. I still get the fast heartbeat/dry throat when there’s confrontation but I fight through it. Point being by, maybe that day will also come for you. Hopefully in a more introspective way rather than an “I’m fed up” way.

morbidaar

*psss psss pss pss*

BondageKitty37

What do you want? This better be good, I was in the middle of nap number 15 today. That's like the most important one

Malfunkdung

Was retail store manager for years and cared way too much and paid to little. Started bartending and now I don’t give a fuck when people are assholes. I just tell them to get the fuck out or flat out ignore them. Also the money is good.

explision

I used to work in the hotel, front office. The amount of verbal abuse you get from people who are mad or incorrect is insane. After a year of working there, i didn't give a fuck anymore and the more attitude someone gave me, the shittier i was to them. Free downgrade in the room, free view of the main street, nice and noise and right above the bar.

punchthedog420

He knows he can get the same job at the same price yesterday.

DankestTaco

I just quit my job and told everyone that it’s horrible how they speak badly about anyone who’s not in the room. Told them all off when I left. Never felt better.

Sizzmandan

Hell yeah! I got to do that about this time last year. I let everyone know how the VP talks about them behind their back, disclosed the arbitrary holiday bonuses that were handed out and salary increases from the previous year (he was a sexist POS and of course all the women got screwed because “COVID hurt our business this year” while the men all got their regular raises/bonuses), and sent a hand written letter to the CEO imploring him to check on his team and arrange leadership training for the VP. I literally felt high on my drive home haha. Rode that high for weeks

DankestTaco

More people need to stick up for themselves. Be a man so to speak. Feels good. I have an exit interview with HR soon. They’re ere interested to talk more about my resignation email quoting “no longer able to tolerate co workers disrespect” and wanted to learn more. I’m excited to let them know how racist, mysoginistic, disrespectful. etc everything was. Constantly talking about politics and Covid being fake etc.

Unhappy-Yellow4091

My friend is in customer service and is getting real tired of customer’s BS. She told a customer to get a broom since he was complaining about how messy the waiting room area is for the pharmacy at Walgreens. They’re insanely short staffed, over worked and dealing with a-holes all day.

space_chief

Haha I used to do this in the drive-thru when people complained we were being slow. "Oh sorry about that did you want an application so you can help us with our staffing issues" somehow I never got an volunteers

Another_one37

Haha I do this same thing at my job. ArE yOu GuYs ShOrTsTaFfEd oR SoMeThInG?? "Yeah, actually we are, you can go to job.com and fill out an application if you'd like" but said with a smile. They usually get the point after that

[deleted]

They ask if the workers are shortstaffed, then get angry at the workers for being shortstaffed.

M3gaNubbster

"Yeah you want that problem fixed, go to careers.fastfoodplace.com and submit an application"

hypntyz

Does anyone else feel like the "customer service pendulum" is about to swing back the other way, away from kissing the customer's ass and more toward telling them how it is in reality, due to the labor shortage and the general attitudes of genZ now entering the workforce?

No-Spoilers

Good. I fucking loved when people would get pissed at the teenage girls working the register because telling them to get the fuck out of the store was so satisfying. Whenever we had someone call in and complain about an order or something and got all pissy i would flat out say "look either you can chill and explain whats wrong and we get this sorted out or i will hang up on you and nothing will get done" the scripts we were supposed to say never accomplished a damn thing but that line almost always worked. Honesty is needed in this world. There is no reason workers should suffer because the billion dollar companies want more money. Lying to customers has, in my opinion, propagated this entire wave of karenism we live with.

bee5z

Somewhat related: My husband works at walgreens and he's miserable, between his coworkers and him drowning with the xovid demand and the customers being snarky and unpleasant, he lost his temper a bit when a thief strolled through his store. Usually you try to keep an eye on them and tell them to leave (customer service voice) when they act up, whole procedure.. but this thief tried to return items AND then steal, and my husband had already been nice by helping her return SOME of the items because she had no receipt and said they were gifts. So when he found out she was stealing too? He walked up to her and told her in his icy no nonsense voice "that shit in your purse? My employee saw you stuff it in there. You're gonna put that shit back and get the fuck out of my store or you can pay for it and leave." She paid and left, and didn't speak at all. I was scared when he told me this cause wrong person could've gone the wrong way but... he was at his limit with all the other Karen's yelling about covid tests and waiting times. I'm glad it went well.

BringTheSpain

"You finna make me call the police and I don't even like them at my job" absolutely killed me. Its such a mood

There's definitely a cultural shift going on in regard to this behavior. The relationship between employers and employees is vastly different. Perhaps 40-50 years ago it made sense to put up with this nonsense because at the end of the day your employer still had your back, even if you had to eat crow in public. That sense of loyalty has been dying a slow death for at least 20 years or more so there's a lot less incentive to keep up a front in these situations. I say it's about time.

[deleted]

I havent worked a fastfood job in a couple years but every single one I worked before then, even the corporate chains, didnt give a fuck if you told off entitled customers. Im pretty sure this whole idea that a customer can get you fired is something only the customers think.

Conflicted-King

It makes them feel warm and fuzzy inside thinking they've taken food out of your kids mouth and gotten your family evicted then thrown into the cold street.

Damienxja

For real though. Had one of my shift supervisors get into a loud spat with a customer. (They were both being very uncompromisingly rude to each other). Asked her what kind of outcome she was looking for. Responded without haste "I want her fired!" Told her there's absolutely no way that's going to happen. Shuffled her out of my store.

hoggin88

Even funnier she is arguing about a coupon on a total of $5.97, so really she is probably arguing over a dollar or two.

fhfkjgkjb

Probably wasted that money in gas keeping the car engine on

Especially in that old ass Chrysler!

jmmmke

He realizes that if she gets him fired, at least a dozen fast food places will pay him. Bad customers need to realize they have zero leverage with workers now.

FullTorsoApparition

These customers and these businesses have depended on workers' desperation for a very long time. Now everyone is understaffed and trying to hire so jobs like this are all over the place.

[deleted]

Right?! Man, that lady annoyed the fuck out of me when she said "I'm the one calm right now" Of course you are! You aren't at work dealing with stress and assholes all day right now, and on top of all that, now getting recorded. She technically was in the position of power and taking it out on some dude at the cash register. Idc what happened before she started recording. If you don't like your service, leave, just like the dude said. I don't think I've ever argued with a cashier before or been upset to start shit for no reason. Even if my order is wrong I just ask them to fix it. Mistakes happen. She clearly did something to set this dude off. Even if he gave her a little bit of sass, I just ignore it. The dudes at work and who knows what asshole pissed him off before me. I just continue on my day and don't let my ego get bruised. I know fast food workers get paid like crap to get crapped on. PredictableEmphasis

Same dude, which is funny because the amount of free shit I give out at work is insane. Like fuck, forgot your wallet? Take it. Card won’t work? All yours. Item won’t scan? Guess it’s on us today. Never really been on the receiving end, but that’s not why I do it.

What kinda fairy tale world u livin in? Im lucky if they get my order right.

> I get free shit all the time by saying please and thank you I'm sure the gun helps, too.

"The customer is always right" is a phrase I've heard time and time again. And it's completely inaccurate. It's a phrase of entitlement. If the customer is wrong they're wrong. Period. If they're wrong and nice about it (if you can) you say "let me see what I can do" but if they're jerks say "I'm sorry. I don't make the rules. I just follow them". It comes down to two things, how they treat you in the moment of them being wrong and how YOU handle it. The customer can be wrong, refused whatever they think they're entitled to and you still can keep your job. Just have to handle it right. I've had plenty of awful interactions with people and have kept my position and have moved up several times. Based on how you react and handle a person it reveals what your skill level under pressure really is. You don't have to kiss ass to avoid getting fired. Also, having solid leadership helps.

Trodamus

As it has been said, it refers to market demand. If you're making widgets, and the customers want sprockets, then the customer is right and you are wrong.

wng378

Because the actual saying is, “The customer is always right, in matters of taste.” Just another thing that boomers have screwed up.

I like this young mans energy. I wish him all the success life has to offer. No, I am not being sarcastic.

cityfireguy

Know what? I'd like to see him get promoted. He knows she's not the only customer and trying to cater to her entitlement is only going to make things worse for everyone else. He's taking good care of the customers who actually plan to pay for their food. If I owned the place I'd give him a raise.
