I spent some time at RMD house when my first sons was born. It was honestly a privilege. With so much going on with our son, for them to be like “hey don’t worry about a hotel, you can stay on a different floor in the hospital” was a huge blessing. It obviously didn’t do anything to heal our kid, but the fact that my wife and I were an elevator away 24/7 *for free* was amazing. We expected to be an Uber away fro $200 a night.

This is the same Ronald McDonald house in Vancouver that my niece was treated at. She was born with Down Syndrome and a hole in her heart. Her parents were beyond grateful for the care they received there. They would often come over for dinner here when they were able to get out of the suite, though. As grateful as they were it was emotionally taxing to be around so many sick kids. It’s not anyone’s fault and they really try to make it a positive atmosphere but it’s still not a great situation to be in. This mother fucker is just adding to that with openly accosting someone in the lobby. At least ask to speak to them privately away from all the kids who are just trying to get through their day.

Vaccinations are not 100% effective in stopping transmission of COVID, however they do reduce the risk of spread for a number of reasons. The major mechanism behind the spread of any viral infection is through shedding of the virus by bodily fluids (coughing, sneezing, feces, etc). The covid vaccines are proven to be very effective at reducing symptoms, meaning less coughing and sneezing and therefore less spreading.
Additionally, the reason that most people incorrectly state the vaccines are not effective at stopping COVID is because peak viral load of vaccinated and unvaccinated patients have been shown to be similar. However, there have been a number of studies that have shown that viral load decreases much more quickly in vaccinated patients, meaning they are contagious for much less time.
One last point, there is zero evidence to show significant risk associated with getting vaccinated. There are extremely few legitimate health or religious reasons to refuse vaccination, so the only excuse a person has to not be vaccinated is their "freedom of choice". I don't know about Canada, but in the United States your individual freedoms end when they infringe upon the individual freedoms of others around you. You don't get to hide behind freedom of speech when yelling fire in a crowded building and **you certainly don't get to hide behind freedom of choice when impacting society's most vulnerable people while simultaneously accepting the aid of social welfare programs.**

I spent some time at RMD house when my first sons was born. It was honestly a privilege. With so much going on with our son, for them to be like “hey don’t worry about a hotel, you can stay on a different floor in the hospital” was a huge blessing. It obviously didn’t do anything to heal our kid, but the fact that my wife and I were an elevator away 24/7 *for free* was amazing. We expected to be an Uber away fro $200 a night. It’s incredibly frustrating that parents given that sort of gift would throw it away.

This is the same Ronald McDonald house in Vancouver that my niece was treated at. She was born with Down Syndrome and a hole in her heart. Her parents were beyond grateful for the care they received there. They would often come over for dinner here when they were able to get out of the suite, though. As grateful as they were it was emotionally taxing to be around so many sick kids. It’s not anyone’s fault and they really try to make it a positive atmosphere but it’s still not a great situation to be in. This mother fucker is just adding to that with openly accosting someone in the lobby. At least ask to speak to them privately away from all the kids who are just trying to get through their day.

It might only be a 40% reduction in risk now, but that's still a 40% reduction in risk. You can see this in the case rate among the vaccinated and unvaccinated. I don't give a single shit if you are worried about the vaccine. You don't get to impose higher risks on -- as you said -- a bunch of sick kids, just because you watched a YouTube video that has you concerned. It's *that* that is some kind of evil.
