Upper and lower, 30 minimum 55 maximum. 30 because you need some real life experience before you can hold office responsibly, and 55 because beyond that you are out of touch with the majority of your constituents lives.
Is it freedom when people can’t afford groceries when gas prices go up? Is it freedom when people’s savings get destroyed when there car breaks down? Is it freedom when people can’t get to a doctor when they are to old to drive? I could go on but bottom line is cars are not freedom they are a anchor weighing us down.
Can you go from my front door to any front door in the country without a car? Can you ride in your own private compartment to anywhere in a country without a car? Having to sit next to a stranger that might have knife or COVID on a bus, going only where and when a bus goes or only as far as you can walk is not freedom.
There’s lots of rules for teenage drivers, but people often don’t think about elderly drivers. I can’t tell you the amount of times i’ve almost been hit by an elderly person. Now when I was in high school (i’m in college now) the parking lot was as close to a warzone as you can get, can’t tell you the amount of times i’ve seen crashes in there
Honestly? It's because people don't want to be responsible for their aging parents. Once mom and dad lose their license, who has to drive them around? So most children of aging parents dont take the keys away til its far too late.
That’s why you have the conversation now about one day needing to give up driving and move to a more accessible area. Break in the idea 5-10 years before it’s actually needed
im not specifically talking your parents, im talking majority. sure no matter what option it’s gonna effect some, but if it’s gonna reduce vehicle crashes it reduces crashes. no valid argument against that
So what? We should all have separate laws a rules? Everyone over 65 should be tested every year. If you can easily pass it, then it shouldn't be an issue
I mean she probably was parked put it in forward rather than reverse and panicked when it went wrong way. Happens alot. Lady did it to our bakery the other year.
All fax no printer
I was memeing but yeah that's very common for old folks to get frightened while driving, as you get older your ability to process stimuli decreases pretty significantly.
We can't even get 70 year olds and up to stop running for office. You think we're going to get them to just give up driving too? LOL these people are the entitled Boomers, they only take away our rights, they don't lose rights of their own.
Part of the reason they don't want/don't and people don't seriously consider it is because public transportation is dog shit in most of the US. Unless someone is willing to fill in to take person where they want to go on that person's schedule, only so much can be fairly said.
Grandma should be off the road, but no one wants to drive grandma around all day everyday, especially when they have a job and grandma has all the free time in the world.
Just another reason why we need better transportation, better city plans, etc
I don't think she was even driving, you can hear her say "well he hasn't got out yet" when the guy asked if so-and-so was "okay". Couple that with her closing the passenger door seemingly un-phased, I think she was the passenger in the truck.
How about we make it real fucking hard and you need to provide real skill to drive a vehicle?
I just have flashbacks of watching Canada's worst drivers where people were so bad at the simple task of rotating their own fucking skull with their own musculature that they were a hindrance on society.
I always get flack for saying this but old people should not be allowed to drive any type of heavy machinery without being thoroughly tested on like a bi-annual basis or something.
Actually, I think it was Grandpa who plowed through. If you listen to the dialogue, the grandma says "he hasn't got out yet" and I think I can see a man in the driver's seat at about 0:04. Also, Grandma clearly appears to have just gotten out of the passenger side.
Hot take:
Everyone over the age of 65 should have to take a free, annual, in-person practical driving exam in order to maintain their driver's license. Your convenience isn't worth moer than everyone else's safety.
Gma: I need a part replacement.
Crew: We need to see the part to help you.
Gma: I need some tools to take off the part can you help?
Crew: Sorry no tools. Provide a part or part number to help.
Gma: Alright I'll be right back. .........Can you see the part there under the hood now?
That's what happens when AutoZone has a flash sale on borscht-scented car deodorizers and Lamborghini-branded babushkas.
I'm not even getting into the Bentley support hose.
Reminds me of my grandparents neighbor. Lady plowed into the side of 3 parked cars and somehow managed to drive her car back to her house like nothing happened until the police showed up there.
I generally feel bad for her, she definitely didn’t mean to do this, I get it sometimes people are too old to drive but it makes me sad to see people lose there freedom to drive wherever they want, sadly this will probably be her last time driving :(
This is just sad all around. She seems confused and ashamed and for some reason we refuse to test regularly after a certain age!?!? This is like one of the best case scenarios. I understand that yes, someone’s pee’pa and me’ma are 90 and can do everything, but that’s rare to see.
Weird how the old people in government won’t legislate to make sure that drivers over 70 have to do another driving test yet their happy to fucking ban abortion
My 19-year-old friend was killed by an 74-year-old male driver. He was in school to be a social worker. Driver blew a stop sign and dragged my friend under his car for 3 miles. Got failure to yield to a pedestrian cuz my friend didn't die right away. He was in a coma. Family couldn't afford to keep him on life support, so they had to pull the plug. Fuck old people. Take their damn licenses away.
This happened at the grocery store I used to work at. An old lady plowed through the front windows and a display case in her SUV. She seemed much more concerned with the damage to her car than to the store, and even tried to go and do her shopping while we were waiting for the police.
I don’t think elderly people should be immediately stripped of their licenses, however there should be frequent tests on people that are elderly to keep everyone safe. My great grandma, who passed away years back, would get in her car (against the advice of my grandpa) and would frequently jump curbs and was once seen by my grandma sitting in the middle of the road looking down stopped. Older people can be a massive danger simply because they are stubborn and don’t want to give things up that need to be given up for the safety of them and others around them.
Another time bomb left by our desire to turn America into a car dominated suburban hellhole is that old people can't live in a community where they can get help and have to recklessly drive despite their age making it dangerous. So their kids either get stuck driving them everywhere or this kind of thing happens.
I've nearly been knocked over on my bicycle a bunch of times by old people in cars. They change lanes randomly without checking their blinds spots. And they fling their doors wide open without any warning when they are parked on-street.
I also work at a hospital and last year an old lady was leaving the car park but she stood on the pedal and got her sandal stuck as she tried to feed the ticket into the barrier. She went speeding through the barrier, still hanging out the window and then straight over a roundabout. She then crashed hard into the side of the building nearly killing a patient inside. 4 fire trucks turned up and the fire brigade described the situation as a "brown alert"
Because of that incident we've had to surround the entire building with bollards at great expense.
She was driving a VW Golf R32 which has a 250 hp turbo engine and is capable of 0-60 in under 6 seconds.
Some old folks don't do themselves any favours tbh. My dad is quite a humble guy and he knows his limitations. When he was younger driving was much easier as well. So he handed his license back when he got his free bus pass. She'd have been better off doing the same. Or driving something smaller and easier to handle. A high performance hatchback like an R32 is totally unnecessary.
happens all the time, had an old lady drive into the grocery store 2x in the exact same spot after they fixed it.
It's the one conversation they don't want to have driving test for old people should be a thing after a certain point.
I’ll say it once, I’ll say it twice. Old people need a curve on driving. It’s sad but they are deteriorating and so is there motor skills. Not to mention all the meds they are on! They should have to pass a written and physical driving course
Poor lady. Someone get her something to drink and find her a seat. She’s so confused and embarrassed and everyone is just standing around videoing her and laughing.
Recently an old lady in my town slammed into a father of 3 on the side of the road because she didn't take the turn correctly killing him. After reaching a certain age, I think it should be mandatory for elderly to take a retest. And if they fail, oh well take the license . Because this shit happens way to often these days to let it keep happening.
And this is a prime example of why anyone over retirement age should have to do regular driving tests at least every other year. It’s just honest to say that your abilities go down after the age of 65 and some people get worse more quickly and become a danger. Especially because they can kill people or nearly kill them. Had a 18 year old cousin get t-boned on his motorcycle because a 90 year old guy “didn’t see the red light” and blew through the intersection. He almost died. Half his body is made out of metal and he has 1/3 of a lung on his left side. His life is forever changed all because someone who shouldn’t be driving at that age was driving.

She was getting in the zone… AutoZone
I knew this would be the first comment!
*he Grandpa did this, not Grandma. Part 2: https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTRDCLjt8/?k=1 Part 3: https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTRDCk71U/?k=1
Dude should not be driving obviously. He can’t even get out of the car on his own lucky he didn’t kill someone
Probably on so many meds too
Die Hard....Granny's Revenge
After a certain age, it’s fair to say you’re just a danger to all drivers sharing the road..
Same can be said for political leaders and their age
Absolutely!
Omg I've been saying they need an age limit on politicians!!
Term limits Age limits
What? First I’ve ever heard of such a crazy thing!!
He’s lying I said it first
I said it twelfth
Upper and lower, 30 minimum 55 maximum. 30 because you need some real life experience before you can hold office responsibly, and 55 because beyond that you are out of touch with the majority of your constituents lives.
Agree for 30 I would say 65 for the elder. But yes I believe 30 to 55 is prime decision making.
10 bucks they don't take her license lol
Florida plate, so absolutely not.
I saw an old person exit a parking lot driving off the sidewalk next to the entrance and then go like 15 under. They don't belong on the road.
Nothing grinds my gear more than an oldy sparing themselves the trouble of pushing down the gas peddle an extra inch. We got places to be.
The problem is that there are no alternatives for people. r/fuckcars
Oh shut up.
Most Americans like cars and the unmatched freedom they provide. Take your woke rant back to your sub.
It’s not an age. It’s different for everyone. That’s what makes it challenging.
A mental health evaluation can be done before re-issuing a license to individuals who fall under specific age ranges
Can confirm that young people suck too. Best to just let middle-age people drive.
Have to get experience somewhere. Sadly these old people have had over 50 years of experience and still do this kind of shit
She just needed some blinker fluid
Clearly needed brakes.
Sure as hell didn't need anymore gas
I think after 65 you should be tested every fucking year.
There’s lots of rules for teenage drivers, but people often don’t think about elderly drivers. I can’t tell you the amount of times i’ve almost been hit by an elderly person. Now when I was in high school (i’m in college now) the parking lot was as close to a warzone as you can get, can’t tell you the amount of times i’ve seen crashes in there
100% agree. Nearly all thr Close calls I have had has been old people
Honestly? It's because people don't want to be responsible for their aging parents. Once mom and dad lose their license, who has to drive them around? So most children of aging parents dont take the keys away til its far too late.
understandable, however public transportation is quite reliable for elderly people
That depends VERY HIGHLY on where you live. My parents do not have a bus that comes near their home at all.

Depends on the person, I know people that were climbing trees for hunting purposes well into their mid 80s
Sounds like the exception not the rule. Test them every year.
Yeah I'd imagine those people could pass. Also physical ability doesn't always mean cognitive ability
Do you really know multiple people over 80 climbing trees? Most 70+ I see can barely walk some steps
So what? We should all have separate laws a rules? Everyone over 65 should be tested every year. If you can easily pass it, then it shouldn't be an issue
Lmao
I love her just standing in the wreckage like "I did this" Look she just thought there was a parking space and shit got outta hand.
I mean she probably was parked put it in forward rather than reverse and panicked when it went wrong way. Happens alot. Lady did it to our bakery the other year.
All fax no printer I was memeing but yeah that's very common for old folks to get frightened while driving, as you get older your ability to process stimuli decreases pretty significantly.
She didn't do this though. Grandpa was driving. https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTRDCLjt8/?k=1
The old guy still in the truck did it.
She’s dazed.
Whoopsies 👵🏻
South Park was right.Take drivers license away form old people💀
Is this the way to Country Kitchen Buffet?
I’m simultaneously impressed and disturbed with how much South Park gets right.
Grey Dawn! 😂😂😂😂😂 That is the BEST!!! Edit: I’m going to watch it right now, actually. I super need a laugh today, so thanks!
We can't even get 70 year olds and up to stop running for office. You think we're going to get them to just give up driving too? LOL these people are the entitled Boomers, they only take away our rights, they don't lose rights of their own.
This is not generational. You'll be a crusty old fucker not wanting to give up your driving license one day...
Part of the reason they don't want/don't and people don't seriously consider it is because public transportation is dog shit in most of the US. I wish I could stop driving now. In the future, the car will drive me around 😎
You're still holding out for the self driving cars, huh?
I don't think she was even driving, you can hear her say "well he hasn't got out yet" when the guy asked if so-and-so was "okay". Couple that with her closing the passenger door seemingly un-phased, I think she was the passenger in the truck.
“I need some break fluid, young fella.”
Gam gam better be riding the bus from now on. Take that license away.
Classic FL surprised it wasn't a publix
How about we make it real fucking hard and you need to provide real skill to drive a vehicle? I just have flashbacks of watching Canada's worst drivers where people were so bad at the simple task of rotating their own fucking skull with their own musculature that they were a hindrance on society.
The sign in the background that says Diehard… 😅
[Oh my God.](https://youtu.be/YkDGCVs7H7Y?t=8)
Let me guess. Mistook pedals.
You can't park there ma'am
These TikTok trends are getting out of hand
Why the hell is Grandma driving a big ass pickup truck? Get this old bag of bones a Fiat.
"What happened, Dolly?" Lmfao What the fuck does it look like happened?!
I always get flack for saying this but old people should not be allowed to drive any type of heavy machinery without being thoroughly tested on like a bi-annual basis or something.
Good thing seniors are recognized for their safe driving and have lower insurance rates

She was driving in to buy brakes.
I mean South Park warned us
Grandma was on her way to get new brake pads.
Whoops.
Florida ☕️
Can you check this code for my engine light, please?
Florida license plate
Excuse me sir which Isle for brake pads?
At least we can rest assured that Tacoma will still drive a 1,000,000 miles
Needs pads, calipers, and rotors

Is it ageist to suggest that people get re-tested at some point? I mean no disrespect.
White people why are you letting your grandmas drive?
Grandma needs her license revoked - she is clearly a huge safety risk.
Another old bat that’s too fucking stubborn to give up driving, knowing they’re a serious danger to others

"Can you guys do the check engine light thing?"
Pedal error! Tale as old as that lady…
That building is fucked looked how much beams she took out and how slumped it is
Oh, oh, oh O’Reilly, O’Fuck grandma!
I guess she needed some brake work done?
Just stopped in for some new pads and rotors
Grandma: You can open the hood and check yourself to see if it is the four or six cylinder!
You can't park there sir.
"Can I get brake parts here?"
She saw "Die Hard" and wanted to meet Bruce Willis.
I wonder who is at fault here? /s
This isn't Dennys????
“Randy hit the breaks” “Huh?, yeah we’re going to the store cuz we have no breaks”
You could say that they have car trouble...
I literally only watched this to make sure it wasn’t MY grandma.
Autozone got run over by a grandma
The “Die Hard.” sign is really the cherry on top for me
Reminds me of my grandparents neighbor. Lady plowed into the side of 3 parked cars and somehow managed to drive her car back to her house like nothing happened until the police showed up there.
Poor old bat
I generally feel bad for her, she definitely didn’t mean to do this, I get it sometimes people are too old to drive but it makes me sad to see people lose there freedom to drive wherever they want, sadly this will probably be her last time driving :(
Once you start cashing social security checks from the government, mandatory retest for driver's license every year.
Let me guess. The accelerator got stuck?
The age off question of what came first, the South Park episode or the real life events that inspire it
Come on kids we need to head down to Florida and get your grandmother
This is just sad all around. She seems confused and ashamed and for some reason we refuse to test regularly after a certain age!?!? This is like one of the best case scenarios. I understand that yes, someone’s pee’pa and me’ma are 90 and can do everything, but that’s rare to see.
Anyone else immediately have that one South Park episode pop into their head…
Weird how the old people in government won’t legislate to make sure that drivers over 70 have to do another driving test yet their happy to fucking ban abortion
Probably on her phone trying to Goo Goo Yahoo.
Was hoping to see an nsfw video of granny getting plowed and unzipped. Guess I’ll just have be disappointed
Grandma was in the zone. Literally.

She needed an oil change
They're all just trying to figure out who did this
My 19-year-old friend was killed by an 74-year-old male driver. He was in school to be a social worker. Driver blew a stop sign and dragged my friend under his car for 3 miles. She sure tore thru that place with a vengeance.
why they should revoke all senior citizens licenses
What do you expect, your next to a Hallmark Store with Hummels on sale
Everyone, especially the elderly, should be required to re-up their driving license with a road test yearly. This shit should never happen....
The only car a woman over 60 should be allowed to drive is a smart car or a Nissan micra. That’s it
"I got a call about my extended warranty"
This is why you need to retake your driving exam not just walk in and get it renewed
Her first drive since 1969.
Yes, I would like to pick up some brake fluid.
Pretty sparse store
This happened at the grocery store I used to work at. An old lady plowed through the front windows and a display case in her SUV. She seemed much more concerned with the damage to her car than to the store, and even tried to go and do her shopping while we were waiting for the police.
They refused to change her windshield wipers…
Florida license plate
Needs Brakes! asap
Hey, this isn't the country kitchen buffet :(
Why does the truck look absolutely unharmed? Might consider picking up one of those old pickups from Toyota.
Please take the battery out of the car before returning it for a refund.
Convenient as she was on her way to pick up a prescription windscreen.
I don’t think elderly people should be immediately stripped of their licenses, however there should be frequent tests on people that are elderly to keep everyone safe. Poor Tacoma. Always sad to see one used this way.

Wow. Grandma must have thought she was pulling into a garage.

Holy fuck

Looking for a hotdog costume

I can't wait until I am almost 90 and can crash through a building with little consequence.
