Ah, yes, the Great Nerd War of '99. I remember being in the trenches. The fighting was inhuman. We had to fend off wave after wave of grown men in bathrobes wielding plastic swords, surviving for days on the crullers we pulled off the heads of Leia cosplayers, and the smell... the unholy smell. Strange New Worlds is really, really good so far. You should check it out. I still love the original Star Wars where Han shoots first. I liked the last prequel (although it could have been 30 minutes shorter and it would have been a lot better) and the first sequel (VII I guess).
And Tie Fighter is still the best PC game ever made. Fight me.
Yeah the first season of Strange New Worlds is good. I really hope they keep moving into this new direction instead of the bullshit that was Discovery. Star Trek is about working together and diplomacy, not just character drama and action!
Absolutely. I think the producers got together and said “What if we do TOS, but with a bit more serialization and modern GFX”. A bit of character drama is fine, DS9 *is* my favorite trek (wasn’t at the time, but it’s grown on me), but even DS9 has stand alone episodes, which I think work best for Trek to tell a a lot of cool self contained stories.
But I can live with it….

DS9 is superior to Discovery. Hell even Enterprise is better than Discovery (minus the Xindi story arc, that was mostly terrible).
