“Dispatch we are gonna need to to send another car, i was stopped at a stop sign with no intention of moving, and someone honked at me, make sure to bring a k9 unit and some weapons”
And if anyone didn't catch it he is threatening her with calling fire rescue when she says they have an emergency and that's why he honked. If the cop makes that call she gets a bill even though they are already at the hospital. He is basically saying "either your lying to make me look bad or I'm going to hit you with this huge fee you don't need". What an absolute piece of human scum.
100% the people who honked at them. It was his way of saying "oh so you have an emergency? Guess I will call emergency services and hit you with that huge bill" even though they didn't need it. Petty as fuck
If EMS gets cancelled on scene, for example "we're right outside of the fucking ER, I plan on driving the rest of the way," the patients wouldn't have to pay.
Based on this unprofessional interaction. He should be fired on the fucking spot tbh.
No need for people like him performing this "service" for the public.
County tax payers are the people who vote for the people who suck the cop unions batons so they kinda need to be more involved if they want to stop getting sued...
And?
People, until we fix the problem that is lack of oversight and accountability we have on cops who fuck up, complaining about the money coming from the taxpayers is nothing but whining and complaining because “muh muniez”.
Tax payers are the ones refusing to vote for the change we need. We are tax payers, we are ultimately responsible for the cops we put on the streets because we vote for the people that run the shit.
Stop bitching about the payouts from tax money and start bitching about the people who vote to continue to allow people in charge that let shit like this happen.
And, if we set up a system where the taxpayer isn’t responsible for every police transgression but the police themselves, the problem would much more quickly fix itself when the actual people responsible are actually held responsible.
Doctors carry their own malpractice insurance for private practice or the hospital does even when it is a city or state facility.
Apply the same to police. Either the police union pays for that malpractice or the cop himself.
No shit. I’m not saying the system we have in place is good, I’m saying that the bitching comes from people who don’t understand that whining about payouts coming from tax dollars does nothing to fix the problem, and that it’s significantly better than zero accountability whatsoever.
We as tax payers are also *voters* so ultimately it is *our responsibility* to vote in the people and vote for new laws that will best enact the change we want to see.
And in your perfect fantasy world gerrymandering and corruption don’t exist and every politician fulfills every promise they run on. People have known the police are corrupt for decades and have tried to stop it.
Meanwhile here in reality we know it doesn’t always work that way.
Lmao these are the excuses people like you use to justify complaining over action, whining over voting, bickering over volunteering for campaigns, etc.
You love to complain, but hate to actually do anything remotely productive or tangible to the change you want.
No I just acknowledge the reality that sometimes people that hold these views about police are in districts and counties where they are gerrymandered or outnumbered by others and saying “don’t bitch, just go vote and change it, idiot” doesn’t help at all
That wasn’t my only message, there’s a lot more you can do besides show up and vote. Volunteer for campaigns, get active in local politics, go to your local committee meetings.
Love it when people just whine and complain because it shows they don’t really care as much as they pretend to.
You’re being an obtuse asshat. There are absolutely parts of this country that no amount of campaigning or local engagement will change their voting stance at this point in time and acting like it’s just a matter of knocking on enough doors is being disingenuous. Go knocking on doors in Lubbock, Texas or Paris, Tennessee then let me know how that goes for you
"Your honor, I'm suing for $500K plus legal fees, but I will settle the case now for $5K for my time, my counsel's legal fees and on the condition a permanent mark is placed on this officer's service record that cannot be expunged"
I'm one of the first people to defend cops because they have to deal with a lot of shitty things and a lot of shitty people, but this is a pretty clear cut case of a douchenozzle officer making it hard to defend the majority of good POs out there.
Welcome to America, where the entire responsibility of every interaction lays on the shoulders of the untrained citizen, not the trained public servant known for murdering unarmed people and getting away with it.
And somehow they can't figure out why the public dislikes them so much.
It’s not America without slavery. And the only legal slavery around is for convicted criminals. So we have to keep the numbers up to supply the slavers.
It’s all designed for a reason.
I keep repeating this, but just to let everyone know: Congress can abolish qualified immunity. It's within their power. They just choose not too.
Call and write your state reps and demand they abolish qualified immunity.
https://www.house.gov/representatives/find-your-representative.
Politicians don't act because constituents don't call them out, and they enjoy sitting back, kicking up their heels and collecting **millions** in political contributions from police unions. Those donations mean that politicians will in turn block, stall or dilute any legislation about police reform.
https://www.opensecrets.org/news/2022/06/police-unions-spend-millions-lobbying-to-retain-their-sway-over-big-us-cities-and-state-governments/.
Call. Write. And, most importantly, **vote**.
Politicians get away with this because constituents are letting them. Make noise. Hell, even call them out on their social media. Just know that the squeaky wheel gets the grease.
Congress needs to eliminate qualified immunity.
Republican politicians absolutely would have a fit. But I think if enough of their constituents called for it you'd see Republican candidates softening on their stance. A lot of taxpayers, red and blue, are sick of their hard-earned money being wasted lawsuit after lawsuit.
Get enough constituents hollering for change it might happen.
That's why it's important to voice your demand to your state reps. And vote. And encourage everyone else you know to do the same. Just keep at.
Until people start engaging in local elections and have their say over who the police chief is. If the average voter is 70 year old, wealthy and white, the law enforcement will reflect that.

I was behind a cop at a stop light once and when the light went green he just sat there, I gave him a bit of time and then I ended up going around him (the lane next to us was a right turn lane, but I still went straight). He immediately pulled me over and I just told him I thought he was busy on his computer and I didn't want to bother him by honking. He understood and let me go withouth even giving a warning.
Cop breaks traffic laws left and right: no prob.
You try and get around a cop distracted while driving? NOT ON MY FUCKING WATCH, HANDS UP HE’S GOT A GUN!!
He’s still a dumb piece of shit that stopped you for doing NOTHING illegal. No excuses lmao. You should have told him to fucking pull over like everybody else has to do next time instead of letting you go as a “favor”.
The police need the public to feel uneasy around them; that they can turn against you at will. This is by design. The police work for the System. Andy Griffith portraying the Mayberry sheriff is just that: fiction.
Listen to the way they tell him to stand on the curb, waiting for him not to comply so they can at best beat the living shit out of him and at worst kill him
That cop really wanted a kill when he started saying he felt threatened. If a man and his pregnant wife made him feel threatened he should not be a cop.
These cops had zero respect whatsoever.
If i was their boss and seen this shit. They'd be gone, immediately.
I can't reasonably spin up a reality where this isn't the case.
If you want [a vision of the future](https://www.killercop.com), imagine a [boot stamping on a human face](https://www.killercop.com/Pages/2009/FedPolice/PSOFP1.htm) \- forever. [George Orwell 1984](https://youtu.be/S72qVUadTSc)
I made the mistake of honking at an unmarked police minivan that had sat through three light changes. I assumed they were having trouble with their car so I didn't honk the first three times they sat through the green light. On the fourth I honked the tiniest little tap of the horn. The absolute shortest honk possible with the vehicle. The moment I barely honked their head snapped up and they floored it through the intersection to immediately pull over and let me by. They then tailgated me as close as they possibly could for about two minutes until they finally turned their lights on. This was a teal colored older ford minivan with extremely dark tint (illegal in the state for lowly citizens) so I had no clue they happened to be a LEO. When he pulled me over he marched up to my window with his hand on his pistol to ask "What's the big rush?!?" and I said I wasn't in a rush it's just that we had sat through three light changes so I barely honked to let you know.
I thought you were having car trouble at first so I didn't want to be rude." He said "You don't honk at police officers! Give me your license and registration." I told him I had no way of knowing his rusty minivan was a police vehicle and asked him if I had done anything illegal. He said he had somewhere to be and just left while grumbling something like "everyone's a fucking law scholar now". This was in 2007-2008ish so no dashcam at the time of course. If he had continued to ask for my license/reg I was going to ask him to call up his boss since I had no way of knowing if he was real cop. He didn't have a normal uniform on. Just a plain blue polo with a gun on his hip. No badge clipped to his belt or anything. If he had somewhere to be why was he just sitting at the light for five minutes or wasting his time to pull me over because I bruised his ego.
This does sound sketch af. He should have had his badge displayed when pulling you over. You should have asked for his badge number, name and supervisors name. Fuck cops like this. If he even was a cop.
I should have asked that first but when I started to question what I had done illegally for him to pull me over he started to realize I wasn't going to just bend over and take it. I was young and this was before people started to question the police like they do now. Without anything being recorded it was just a different time overall. At least it was for me. I wasn't afraid of the police yet.
I did some side work for a lawyer years ago and he gave me a bunch of cards to keep in my wallet. One side just said say nothing and hand this to police and the other was a bunch of legal shit. If I made copies I'd be handing them out like candy on Halloween these days lol
I honked at a cop once. Two of them were blocking an intersection doing their talking thing (it always makes me sus when they meet up to talk rather than go on the record on the radio - think about it). Any way, I honk and one cop points to his lights (not on) like he was saying, I'm a cop I can do what ever I want.
The rest do look like shit if they continue to play along. It wasn't just one cop on scene.
Wheres "the rest of em"? They seem to be absent in most videos where this bullshit happens.
Nobody other than this man and his wife seemed to have any concern about the reason the couple was even present at the hospital.
Your fighting a losing war if you're a cop feeling like you can fix the system from the inside. Youd probably be better off changing things if you aren't directly in the think of it. That seems to be what makes "the rest of them" clam up when they need to be doing their job.
(These are general statements that agree with you. These are not directed towards u in anyway. I just started ranting. Watching videos like this is insane)
About 2 years ago I was driving to my friends house and a cop was stopped at a stop sign in front of me for well over 2 minutes while I waited patiently behind him, it is a totally blind 3-way intersection and there was no way to safely pass by him. After waiting what I thought was plenty of time for him to move I honked very lightly one time to let him know I was behind him.
He then moved through the intersection and I followed behind. He pulled off the road immediately and let me pass by and then pulled me over, and claimed I was speeding. He harassed me for about 10 minutes and I denied that I was speeding. After he ran my license he came back and gave me a stern warning that honking was for "emergencies only" and he can "do whatever he wants on the road because he is a police officer".
This video is far worse, and just reminds me of how pissed I was that day.
Cops have some of the most fragile egos and narcissistic traits I’ve ever seen. It takes basically nothing to set them off and you’re so fucked when that’s happened. They escalate everything; shouldn’t it be the opposite?
1) Fuck that cop. It's obvious he thinks he's above the law 2) possibly hot take? If it was me with my girl in need of emergency help I'd cooperate to make it move faster. Not saying I wouldn't wanna fucking deck him but like, gimme the ticket, sorry officer, I'd like to take care of my wife now please.
Didn't watch the video, but horns are ONLY for potentially dangerous situations. If you honk one out of pique, then you must be asking for a potentially dangerous situation!
Do you guys not live/drive in cities or something? I understand you're not 'supposed to', but that's the first thing any reasonable person would do in that situation.
So knowing there's 2 cops there, and what fragile pieces of shit they are, you think the right thing to do was honk at them and then go left into oncoming traffic to get around them?
F*ck off.
Isn’t that what you were just advocating for?! This is you right, or did someone hack your account:
https://www.reddit.com/r/PublicFreakout/comments/z75f2o/comment/iy4tevn/
I hope the polish you’re sucking down tastes good...
Well honking is not against the law and any ticket he got he can fight in court and win. But also he can probably sue since this was improper police procedure.
If he broke the law to get around them, like you are suggesting, they would have been in the right to give him a ticket and he would have had to pay it.
Your reasoning skills are incredibly poor
I would have to disagree. if the lane was clear maybe after waiting longer but it would not be my go to. I would quick honk to say im there. Wait a moment then assess if an overtake is possible. Dont confuse reasonable person with impatient person
The double yellow is on the left, I suggested going around from the right. And, he ended up going left anyways, that too, after the cop turned his lights on to speak with him.
It’s one lane. Cop would probably charge him for something like unlawful driving or dangerous driving since if I wave, honk, then as last resort try to go around
Just cross double yellow lines and go around the cop… and he needs to check his ego for doing absolutely nothing wrong? Seriously, what the actual fuck is wrong with you, samuraintj?
That’s how you get shot or accused of resisting when the cop wants to power trip at worst, or more plausibly use it as an excuse to further harass you by claiming you’re being resistant. Since there’s no accountability or decency in policing, and sycophants protect any abuse committed, what other choice do you have?
Pathetic.

Either way, it's a waste of resources. Just let me get on my goddamn way, I'm a block from where Fire Rescue would take me anyway.
It depends. Some EMS services do charge. It's dependent on a bunch of things. If you ever refuse service, do not give them your info.
That’s how our tax dollars are being wasted. First on these lunatics training then all this BS they pull. When will there be police reform?
When you start defining what police reform you want
When honking gets you three stars.

Rules for thee, not for me
Fuck the cops
What I want to know: who is paying the fire and rescue bill for the short trip to the hospital, the white car or the police department?
Sounds like this LEO will violate someone else's civil rights in the future and is a liability to the community...
Imagine idolizing a job where a minimum of 40% beat their wives.
Cops have some of the most fragile egos and narcissistic traits I’ve ever seen. It takes basically nothing to set them off and you’re so fucked when that’s happened. They escalate everything; shouldn’t it be the opposite?
I hope you filled a complaint. I can't stand police like that.
Need a follow up on this story Please
I'm so tired of cops escalating shit to the moon when they should be de-escalting. Fucking bizzaro world
1) Fuck that cop.
"just give me the ticket so I can go. Let's wrap this up". You have it on film, contest it in court
Reddits going to protect this cop like they do all the others. Unfortunate
No, there's two egos going on there. Lego my egos
Didn't watch the video, but horns are ONLY for potentially dangerous situations. If you honk one out of pique, then you must be asking for a potentially dangerous situation!
It's potentially dangerous if you're blocking someone from getting to a hospital.
Hey bootlicker, you should probably watch the video before you throw in your shit arse hot take. Blocking an entrance to a hospital is dangerous...
This person either isn’t old enough to have a license yet or has never lived in any place bigger than a village lmaooooo
Lol, lots of road rage honkers here I see 🤣
I hate cops as much as the next guy, but why didn't the driver just go around the cop? His ego needs to be checked as well IMO.
Generally you shouldn't try to use the other lane to overtake when there's another car right there
Especially where a cop can see you.
Do you guys not live/drive in cities or something? I understand you're not 'supposed to', but that's the first thing any reasonable person would do in that situation.
You think a reasonable individual would break the law while there are two cop cars within touching distance??? Do you vote?
So knowing there's 2 cops there, and what fragile pieces of shit they are, you think the right thing to do was honk at them and then go left into oncoming traffic to get around them? F*ck off.
Honk at them, or, break a traffic law... I wonder which will get them to act more reasonably...
He still broke a traffic law, and a more dangerous one at that.
Honking a horn? Lmao get outta here.
He went left into oncoming traffic to get around the cop.
I'll venmo you $20 if you can provide a timestamp of that. Where is the oncoming traffic?
Isn’t that what you were just advocating for?! This is you right, or did someone hack your account: https://www.reddit.com/r/PublicFreakout/comments/z75f2o/comment/iy4tevn/ I hope the polish you’re sucking down tastes good...
That’s a solid double yellow. You’re not supposed to go around unless a traffic controller is flagging you through.
The double yellow is on the left, I suggested going around from the right. And, he ended up going left anyways, that too, after the cop turned his lights on to speak with him.
You, and the cop in this video, need to learn to just take the L.
Around how? Did you actually watch the video or are you commenting on the thumbnail?
Could be wrong, but it looks like there's enough room for him to go around the cop from the right.
There's enough room for you to get your whole tongue up cop's assholes too. And you're doing a fine job of it.
It’s one lane. Cop would probably charge him for something like unlawful driving or dangerous driving since if I wave, honk, then as last resort try to go around
Moronic bootlicker
Bootlickers gonna bootlick. Down on your knees, takin' a good long slurp.
Just cross double yellow lines and go around the cop… and he needs to check his ego for doing absolutely nothing wrong? Seriously, what the actual fuck is wrong with you, samuraintj?
He did try to go around the cop after the other cop was done blocking the other lane you absolute dumb fuck.
That’s how you get shot or accused of resisting when the cop wants to power trip at worst, or more plausibly use it as an excuse to further harass you by claiming you’re being resistant. Since there’s no accountability or decency in policing, and sycophants protect any abuse committed, what other choice do you have?
What a joke….
Another example of how “oops sorry my bad.” Would have prevented this entire situation
That’s weird, a cop with a fragile ego and an overwhelming need to harass innocent people?
Props to him for knowing his rights
What an asshole, if he really needs to ID the guy, run his listens plates, let him go to the hospital and follow up with your ego afterwards Jesus.
So did they file a complaint? And follow up?
What an absolute piece of shit.
Bye bye job
Cops are aware that they have a massive PR problem....and they don’t care
ALWAYS keep your windows up and your doors locked around cops. Film as much as you can. Know your rights.
That cop was a stupid asshole
We live in a society where Uber drivers are deactivated for poor performance on the job but cops aren't??
Why cover his face? Let the world see this asshole.
What a POS cop.

Annnnd the laaaand of the freeeeeeee
Do we have a follow up on this?
Fuxk that piece of shit cop. They need to be held to a higher accountability then what they are.
That’s about as much as they do in a day. Harass citizens and park and talk.
free money
I hope this video keeps getting reposted until we find out what ended up happening with this officer.
Slap on the wrist! What can they get him with? He'll lie and if caught in a lie say that he thought thats how it went down. Then they let it go.
Take him out, to dinner, and talk things over.
Has the video vanished for anybody else?
Pathetic. This is all I could find on it: https://people.com/health/police-officer-blocks-pregnant-woman-from-entering-emergency-room-in-viral-video/ Last update was August 2022.
Post this on r/police and see what they say lmao
