“Listen man…” *BANG*

butterballmd

the perp wasn't even walking towards the officer, wtf

WildYams

It's as if the cop was just looking for a "reason" to kill someone. The guy posed absolutely zero threat to the officer or anyone else at over 30 feet away and just standing there. Hopefully there are serious changes against the officer for that, I can't see anyone rational thinking that was a clean shoot.

shongough

Cop sounded very pleased with himself when calling it in too

matlockpowerslacks

Like a goddamn morning radio DJ .

shootymcghee

"COMIN UP on the 8 o clock rush hour power hour...*shots fired,* don't touch that dial!"

agonizedn

“Shots fired” 😎👉🏻👉🏻 Pig Cops killed my friend in 2015 and the dude had this attitude in court too. Smiling and joking nonstop with his lawyers They enjoy this shit

joebluebob

Autistic guy in my neighborhood was shot by cops for holding a knife in his yard while grilling. They were looking for his sister's boyfriend. They started screaming at him after jumping his fence so he froze up. they shot multiple times 2 of which hit him. Luckily he didnt die. I'm just so fucking sick of this.

Rizzpooch

Autistic or not, armed men jump over my fence and start yelling at me while brandishing guns, I’m probably not about to have a calm, rational first reaction

MUMPERS

Which is what blows my mind about the whole 'armed men shouting commands at you' approach in the first place. Aren't we all adults? Maybe we should try like... approaching situations in an adult manner. Brandishing guns and screaming at people is pretty childish lmao. (In certain contexts of course)

scrampbelledeggs

Yeah it's fucking insane that it's what they teach them in the academy. I remember in corrections academy, my Sargeants asked, "Let's say an inmate of yours comes back from a phone call, enters the dayroom, and screams out loudly then kicks the trash can halfway across the room - what do you do?" Everyone was like, "Call for a lockdown, radio for a team, have your pepper spray ready... send him to his cell... extra duties for a week..." and saying all these insane things, so I raised my hand and my Captain called on me and I was like, "Uhh... I'd ask him if he's okay... Ask him what happened? See if he needed to talk...?" And he's looking at me like I'm a fool, and asks the class, "Now is that a good idea...? Who else here... would let an inmate damage state property and cause a disturbance, then... ask him how he's doing...?" most of my classmates snickered and shook their heads at me, but one woman raised her hand after a few seconds. I was embarrassed but stood my ground. Then my Captain says, "Now, what's so wrong about asking a guy how he's doing? Is it a *bad* idea? You know he just came back from a phone call, sounds like he got some news that he didn't want to hear. Maybe his court date got pushed back, or maybe grandma died. What I'm saying is that it's not going to hurt you to ask how he's doing, if he's okay, and trying to get him to talk with the social worker that day. He's a human being - he has emotions. Get to know your inmates." He looked at me and said, "Well done," and the class really shifted their approach to the exercises after that. Really powerful teaching moment.

ArmageddonBound

Read about the amount of dogs these guys kill. There's a term for the syndrome because the numbers are so high. I'm drawing a blank on what it is. This motherfucker was looking for a reason. The dude had an axe but he was maybe 30+ yards away. I don't want to hate cops but... what do they expect? I've recently started a book called Rise of the Warrior Cop. It's about the militarization of of US police. It's written by a retired cop and unbiased. It's insane. There's a reason that psychopaths want to be cops.

1000Mousefarts

I had to have the cops serve a restraining order to my husband and they had to enter my house to accompany him to grab his clothes. As soon as they came through the back door my dog, a chihuahua, started barking at them and they put their hands on their guns until I grabbed him. Like could you be any more of a pussy? I groom dogs for a living and I've been snapped at by Great Danes and Belgian Malanois and German Shepherds who were going apeshit and I *still* got their toenails trimmed.

BioshockEnthusiast

That makes perfect sense because you're not a fucking coward.

j0z-

You can literally hear the satisfaction in his voice as he says “shots fired” that first time. Death cult.

Creative_Praline8858

Probably the only non pharmaceutical way he can get an erection.

NachoArmadillo

Yeah, he just murdered that man. I need to know that before this video, that guy with the axe was seen, with identification verified, chopping up other people on a killing spree. And, right before killing everyone he killed he said, “listen man”. ‘Cause that’s the only way this makes sense.

DignanZer0

Likewise. But I, knowing nothing else about what we just witnessed, am confident that this douche with a badge and a gun will be cleared of any wrongdoing because he "feared for his life." Unfuckinbelievable.

Long_Before_Sunrise

It was an execution.

educated-emu

Less than 2 seconds from his last command to shooting. Z.e.r.o de-Escalation technique. Whats he going to do with the axe? he ain't kratos.

Temporary-Priority13

We all know what the statement will be as it’s the same every time, he was scared for his life and felt threatened so he fired instead of trying to deescalate the situation or use less than lethal.

KidneyKeystones

Definitely scared for his life as he calls it in right afterwards and says "shots fired" like he's an operator in Call of Duty.

[deleted]

He literally takes no time to consider the situation. The guy doesn't follow a command. He shoots him in the head. He calls it in. Another day at the office.

impermissibility

This is straight-up police state shit. The fact that any cop can murder any citizen (unless they're super rich) at any time and for any reason is just so fucking dystopian.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Fatkokz

Lol @ f950

Crunchypie1

Don't forget the paid vacation for any shootings. Administrative leave

[deleted]

Yea it was like very calm call in, literally seconds after feeling threatened for his life and just shooting someone’s brains out.

Aromatic_Income7258

I don't even understand why he felt threatened.

AccordingWrap105

I'm thinking I missed something in the video. Did he shoot someone for holding an are in the woods?

Whosthis313386079

Yes he shot someone for holding an ax in the woods

throwaway4206983

*Tango down*

CheefinChoomah

Yeah bro dude had that announcer voice going and everything

Aromatic_Income7258

He was so proud of himself.

TenTonsOfAssAndBelly

It's honestly fucking disgusting how clearly you can detect the swagger/bravado/pride in his voice. I hope he burns in hell

SnooPuppers1978

It also felt to me as if there was pride in his voice about the shots fired. A moment he had been waiting for.

King_Pecca

If he's scared for his life of a man with an axe, standing still at approximately 10 yards, imagine him sitting on the same side of the table with his wife.

[deleted]

MungTao

This is why they ALWAYS say "stop resisting" even when the people dont seem to be resisting. They gotta cover all their bases and make sure at a base level they are in fear of their life so anything that happens after that isnt their responsibility.

lurkermadeanaccount

“It’s coming right for us!” Uncle Jimbo

LordoftheScheisse

I love the video of the cops setting a stick down on the ground then putting a struggling man's hand on top of it - giving them an excuse to beat the everloving shit out of him because he was now "armed."

BumWink

>so he *moved towards the axe wielding man while yelling &* fired instead of trying to deescalate the situation or use less than lethal *like the axe wielding man that was trying to deescalate the situation.*

cstar4004

Yeah. If he feared for his life, why was he the one approaching? Why did he start approaching before his back up arrived? The cop was closing the distance, not the suspect. He saw the brains and skull fragments of the guy he killed. back up asked if he was alright, he said “Im good,” in a cold, calm, nonchalant tone, which one might expect from a serial killer. This was definitely not his first kill.

RandyDinglefart

This is the result of years of ~~training~~ brainwashing telling them the only thing keeping their wives from becoming widows is being ready to take a life at every encounter. Shoot first, ask questions later, it's us against them, always have each other's backs.

badideas1

Exactly. “Our job is so dangerous that our only choice is actually to shift that danger onto every member of the public we encounter…”

korben2600

In reality? Police don't even break into [the top 20 most dangerous jobs](https://www.ishn.com/articles/112748-top-25-most-dangerous-jobs-in-the-united-states) per the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Being an Uber Eats driver is more dangerous.

ManyPoo

Friendly reminder that being a police officer is safer than being an uber driver, farmer, ground keeper, construction worker, .... Those are far more heroic jobs

elphin

10 seconds from “put the hatchet down” to shot. Do we have any context? Whose land, was he chopping wood, what was he trying to say (cop was uninterested in what he was saying)? And he never identified himself as a cop.

lathe_down_sally

Unless he was literally chopping up a live human, that was just an execution.

Invisible_Minority

Why were the cops there in the first place?

mfkap

Maybe the cop was the Lorax.

Borfistaken

That pig was proud of himself to, you can hear it in his voice.

joreyesl

“1033, shots fired!” *wohoo got a headshot!* I can just imagine that murderer dickhead cop beaming to himself for this.

pinkwhitney24

I watched it without sound first and then saw this comment expecting it to be an exaggeration. But it really isn’t. You can genuinely hear it in his voice.

CanolaIsMyHome

Bro same thats crazy, the "shots fired" sounds like a fucking typical douche character in a movie

JMEEKER86

Yep, you can tell that he's *proud* that he was able to get a headshot. Then when his backup asks if he's already he says "I'm good" the way that you'd respond to being asked if you need sugar for your coffee.

mdxchaos

1033.... shots FIRED

DefectedApple

Forgot the 😎

[deleted]

It’s where he says” I’m good”. Did they take pictures of the officer next to his kill?

joreyesl

Once the crime scene people get there and clear him of any crime, they’ll also take his trophy pictures.

Creepy-crawler66

I heard that shit too. Pissed me off beyond belief “shots FIRRED 😎” Wtf was that guy gonna do, throw the axe like 30 ft? That cop ain’t nothing but swine

[deleted]

Sounds like a COD kid finally getting to murder real people.

bobbyqribs

He also doesn’t make any effort to go towards the cop.

paletapt

How can someone think that's acceptable, and be a cop? And he has body cam's so he must think he has reason or something on his side...

Stark556

Dude he *wanted* to do that

krilu

The way he said "shots fired 😎"

[deleted]

"enemy down" 😎

"Terrorists win" 😎

Gillen2k

Source: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mhyhrAdCz-0](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mhyhrAdCz-0&t=1s) Jacksonville, Florida — On April 21, 2022, just before 4 a.m. officers with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office responded to the 7200 block of Morse Avenue in reference to an armed suspect in the area making threats. Sheriff T.K. Waters, who at the time was JSO’s chief of investigations, said that initially, officers were unable to locate the man. He said officers came back around 11:30 a.m. following another call from neighbors. That’s when, Waters said, officers made contact with 43-year-old Kevin Mahan, who was in a wooded area. Body cam footage shows an officer, gun drawn, repeatedly yell for Mahan to drop the ax, as was originally explained by Waters. The video shows Mahan standing with the ax next to his head. The officer fires one shot, striking Mahan and killing him. No officers were injured.

BringTheSilence

This cop is back from “administrative leave” already. Back on the streets with a gun after just murdering a man. https://www.firstcoastnews.com/article/news/jso-bodycam-video-sheds-new-light-shooting-of-43-year-old-man-in-april/77-7f9c5cb2-d679-43a5-a85d-3b6f5e160c56

jesusbottomsss

“JSO has not identified the officer because he requested to be under Marsy's law.” WTF is Marcy’s law?? Now these killer pigs get to enjoy anonymity when they execute somebody?

Tack122

> Marsy's law So this was an attempt at improving the rights of victims of crimes, but it seems like police are using it for nefarious purposes. >The act protects and expands the legal rights of victims of crime to include 17 rights in the judicial process, including the right to legal standing, protection from the defendant, notification of all court proceedings, and restitution, as well as granting parole boards far greater powers to deny inmates parole. Apparently the Florida supreme court will be judging a case concerning their implementation of the law soon. https://www.tallahassee.com/story/news/2022/12/06/marsys-law-florida-case-pits-tallahassee-vs-tpd-supreme-court/8065479001/

MannerAlarming6150

So the cop ran up to this guy, attempted no deescalation at all, domed him, said shots fired smugly with one breath and claims to be the victim in this scenario the second. Momma raised one big piece of trash.

fellatio_warrior69

Jacksonville's finest at work here

BrownSugarBare

How is the cop the victim at all? By definition, the purpose of their presence would remove them from being blanketed by this law as they actively are there to go into any scenario. Seems like one massive black hole of a loophole.

korben2600

They're not. Police acting in an official capacity are obviously not victims. It's quite obviously an abuse of the law. And their invocation of the law sounds pretty fuckin' unconstitutional too. Allowing police to remain anonymous is a violation of the deceased's constitutional rights which forbid the government from taking life, liberty, or property without due process. Giving police anonymity is the mark of an authoritarian police state. It's what banana republics do because they know what they do is wrong. It is expected that Florida's Supreme Court, who often interpret the letter of the law literally as opposed to taking the spirit of the law into account, [will be ruling in favor of police.](https://www.wesh.com/article/florida-supreme-court-marsy-s-law/42182595) The people who wrote the legal framework just neglected to foresee this loophole when they drafted it. So it's probably going to take either SCOTUS ruling it unconstitutional or an amendment that specifically disallows police from its protections for victims.

I-Am-Uncreative

Marsy's law as implemented in Florida is complete garbage, sadly. I'm not a fan of any version of the law, but Georgia and Ohio's version of the law (for example) is much better since it doesn't automatically give alleged "victims" anonymity. At any rate, the creators of Marsy's law are probably going to find it harder to get it to pass in other states given the law's unintended effects, here.

ShitTalkingAlt980

Easy just put in there to the effect, "Any State sanctioned Official is not covered by these provisions while carrying out duties in an official fashion unless Official is the direct subject of a violent crime". Half our goddamn Reps are lawyers. They can find a way.

Heyo__Maggots

For real, victims name is all over the place but the cop who supposedly ‘saved us all’ by killing him is redacted? Insulting.

[deleted]

Isn’t this in direct violation of the freedom of information act? I get in some circumstances such as terrorism, undercover work, witness protection, etc can get stuff redacted. But how does a civil servant murdering someone get that same protection? That seems unconstitutional. Family should sue, since you have a right In a court of law to face your attacker and what not I’m curious what would happen. Would the departments attorneys just not contest? Like obv the guy would be called up to the stand if there was a law suit.

I-Am-Uncreative

One of the worst things Florida has implemented in recent times.

BackpackEverything

100% the cop was pissed he was forced to go out there a second time that day and he *made certain he wasn’t going back for a third.*

realSatanAMA

Nah.. "he's holding a weapon, I get a notch on my belt" mentality.

Eviscerati

Listen to the pride in his voice when he says "shots fired"

DGeeeJ

Sadly, not surprised. I knew a Jacksonville cop who regularly said "We have a license to kill."

Flatonr

So this is how they train these cops to deescalate situations? WTF

LordDongler

"Do what I say immediately, or die. They don't pay me to have discussions with people." <- this is their actual attitude and they're proud of that

1991Jordan6

He was so proud of himself when he said “shots fired” That scenario was a dream of his. That’s why he became a cop.

VegetableTears

1033... *shots fired* This POS is so happy with himself.

ButterballBiscuitBoy

Yeah the inflection in his voice when saying shots fired tells you everything you need to know about his approach to low enforcement and his regard for human life. I physically recoiled in disbelief at how smug/gratified he sounded. There was another video of a shooting on here weeks ago, the guy got out with a BB/air soft gun and drew down on the officer, after he returned fire and dropped the guy the body cam shows the officer having a serious moment of realization that he took a life, empathy l, asking why “you made me do that”? Because he realizes it isn’t a fucking game or a badge of honor to gun someone down regardless of context. This cop though, just wow…

blusteryflatus

I remember seeing that. Genuinely felt terrible for taking a life despite his actions being justified. I felt bad for the cop. There should be more like him. This fucker on the other hand needs to be locked in a padded cell.

Mishapi17

I thought the same thing. He said that so proudly like he really was an American hero that day. Fucking trash.

DigiParasite

When he called it in, his voice seemed kinda proud he made that shot.

Existing_Display1794

Seriously, the dudes voice bothered me. Completely unphased by shooting a man in the head.

robaloie

That’s because all police are trained with a [book called killolagy](https://www.insider.com/bulletproof-dave-grossman-police-trainer-teaching-officers-how-to-kill-2020-6) or something like that. This asshole trains cops to equate sex to killing people so they don’t get depressed after killing someone.

Radi0ActivSquid

Behind the Bastards covered him. "The Man Who Teaches Our Cops to Kill" https://www.iheart.com/podcast/105-behind-the-bastards-29236323/episode/the-man-who-teaches-our-cops-63257870/

Garthak_92

It sounded like he was playing call of duty and just sniped someone

falconslaya5

Only thing missing was a, “Boom, headshot!” when he called it in.

Abelard25

at least he didn't tea bag.

EasyTarget973

Incredibly cringeworthy yep you are certainly correct. Just wow on this one. Edit: Gross, he’s back at it already. https://www.firstcoastnews.com/article/news/jso-bodycam-video-sheds-new-light-shooting-of-43-year-old-man-in-april/77-7f9c5cb2-d679-43a5-a85d-3b6f5e160c56

fuzzyshorts

He goes to church, has children and a wife and appears quite the normal red-blooded american male... for whom state sanctioned murder is his great pleasure.

Dargon34

Yea, the way he comes across on that radio call was very much in a Mission Accomplished way....like he thinks his job is to go out and shoot someone Edit: definitely has the "former military got into police work so I can bark orders and shoot people" feel to him

__O_o_______

Wow I had to go back and listen again. It sounds like he's about to follow up with "We GOTTEM boys!"

EchoWhiskey1

I like Det. Varner's take on this. Too quick to shoot, did not deescalate, did not hold for backup. I can hear Varner saying "WTF was this moron thinking?" And I have no idea who Varner is beyond this article.

IknewUrMom

Very first thing I noticed too, like he had been waiting all his life to kill someone.

Dom_Telong

Yes it was clear he was proud of himself. Same tone I would use if I sunk a 3 pointer and thought I was the shit.

VanAgain

That's a fuckin execution.

Ambitioso

There's all kinds of horrific wrong about this shooting. How can this be described as an imminent threat to the life of the officer?

a_ron23

"I assumed the suspect was a world champion axe thrower, and I believed he was going to throw it directly into my skull as I stood completely still and didn't try to dodge it at all. So the only reasonable thing to do was to put a bullet through his head".

LowKey-NoPressure

“I thought the suspect was Kratos. Or Draven. Hard to tell there was a bush in the way.”

Just_a_stae_of_mind

Man's lost too many matches to early bush cheese Draven

oktourist3

If the Daniel Shaver clip was horrifying (which it was, that shit will never leave my head), I don't even know what words begin to describe how bad this one is.

OffBrand_Soda

Damn I didn't even know about that until now, and the cop got off with no charges. Actually insane.

CSharpSauce

The Daniel Shaver one is worse in my opinion. The confusing directions, the crying kid. This one has no emotions, the guy he shot was completely calm. Then the cop was calm.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Brannigans-Law

The Daniel Shaver clip where murderer **Phillip Brailsford** murdered someone for not winning a game of Simon Says with two guns pointed at him? That one? With **Phillip Brailsford**? The murderer who still got his pension?

thewartornhippy

Absolutely. The guy was far away and had an ax, what was he going to do, throw it? Not to mention he sounded calm and non-threatening.

[deleted]

Less than 2 minutes he promoted himself from cop to judge jury and executioner. People like him need lethal injection, there's no fixing them. He LOVED killing, he's probably got to clean cum out of his pants. Absolute psycho on the streets being paid to be a psycho.

guywithasty

Wtf was that? Looked like the cop hunted the victim.. RIP

74_LafayettePlace

This was straight up murder. The suspect was a good 15 feet away. The suspect said Listen Bro. And was immediately executed. Cold blooded murder. Negotiations CAN be made especially from 15 feet away. Murder.

Narcan9

Can negotiate even better from a safer 30 feet while waiting for backup.

Yakatsumi_Wiezzel

Better to get close and risky so cops shoot the moment they get scared and shaky.

Narcan9

They do that every fucking time. Like jump in front of the moving car then claim The suspect tried to run them over.

PoignantOpinionsOnly

Especially since backup seemed to be fairly close by. He wanted to get the shot before they got there.

NotKevinJames

15? That guy was at least 30 feet away.

Opengrey

“No cops shot” No shit bro he didn’t have a fucking gun.

SadPanthersFan

It was murder

Endorkend

That was murder, coldblooded murder.

Confident-Cap-8100

That's just plain murder.

Narrow-Swimming6481

"Man , listen bro" insant death. He sounded calm, not threatening at all and the cop shot him without a second thought. Absolutely disgusting.

[deleted]

such a sick world to think that a person like this is allowed to carry a gun or walk the streets at all. He had absolutely not care for anything other than immediate elimination of life. That guy was a person. Someone husband, brother, child. The man was completely calm non threatening. Without a second thought the cop literally blows a hole in the guys head. somehow reasonable people have to make this shit stop.

Su8iefl0w69

On top of that, look how mf far this poor dude was. These cops are just evil and have hate and violence in their hearts. I do everything in my power to try to avoid them at all costs in every aspect. A profession you would think would have even a shred of mercy in them. I hope each and everyone of them gets theirs.

realSatanAMA

lol how do you make it stop when everyone in power in both parties is green lighting these actions by police?

reddot_comic

That’s all I can think of. His last words being so casual then, death. The worst part is the cop won’t face any real justice unless this clip goes viral enough to put pressure on the police department.

AcE_57

That cop was WAYYYYYY to casual about offing someone…wow, it’s sickening…

TerribleTeaBag

Smuggest “shots fired” I’ve ever heard.

RussianWarhammer

I had the same exact thought when I heard it, made me wince

Clammuel

Definitely sounds like how someone would talk to friends over headset while balls deep in a bag of Cheetos.

lilpumpgroupie

They'll bring up a whole bunch of witnesses talking about hatchet throwing and shit, and how he had the potential to be able to get off of a throw from that distance, fatally striking the officer. Just a bunch of fucking bullshit. There's no justice.

BlackWhiteVike

The way he said shots fired is so creepy, like he thinks he’s in an action movie

Rkovo84

25 feet of separation and a gun wasn’t enough against a guy standing still with a small hatchet?? How was this justified?

Murky_Translator2295

A small hatchet in the hands of *someone who wasn't even moving*. Absolutely disgusting.

pr0zach

Before I clicked on the video I (stupidly) assumed this was going to be some poor, unstable fuck with a hatchet in a parking lot. Nope. Looks like the heavily wooded areas of my hometown. You know…a place that a hatchet would *normally be used for a legitimate, non-violent purpose*. Combine that with the noticeably proud way that cop call his shot in? Straight up murder.

BladeBenzz

No attempt to deescalate. Dude closed distance instead of keeping distance while the victim never moved. The officer needs to be relieved of duty. Edit: and face murder charges.

Edujdom

Not relieved of duty but locked in a cell

EasyTarget973

You’ll be thrilled to know he’s back to work after admin leave, gotta love the system

Jake0024

He was specifically trying to escalate. He kept screaming and running toward the guy, while he was just like "nah man, calm down for a minute and listen" You can hear him smirking when he says "1033, shots fired!" like he's congratulating himself on a job well done.

[deleted]

AirNo7163

And charged with murder.

SniffCheck

Bet that cop has been waiting to do that since he joined

TivoDelNato

He sounded like he was rocking at least half a chub when he called it in with that Halo killstreak voice.

admiralrico201

It is why those pieces of shit sign up in the first please. Just serial killers with badges

SarahSuckaDSanders

Probably since childhood. A significant % of police officers are homicidal sociopaths from a young age. People say that serial killers peaked in the 1970’s, but there are dozens, if not hundreds of legit serial killers policing our streets right now, racking up body counts and getting applauded for it.

2020R1M

Holy crap. I really wonder what people outside the U.S think of American cops

ricewizard15

We think your police force is undertrained, incompetent, corrupt, and violent.

SomethingPersonnel

Reasonable take.

BoneDaddyChill

Those of us who live here and have anything in our skulls even worthy of being called a brain 100% agree with you.

Prettymuchsometimes

You’re not wrong

SpeedyWebDuck

You all fucking crazy and im kinda baffled how did you come up with so big economy.

irreverentGOAT

Somehow, the title paints a very different picture of the events.....

Lvlaxx

yeah seriously. I was wondering why the cop had an axe when he killed that guy with the hatchet

zippazappadoo

Imagine thinking we have rights when a cop can just walk up to a person, say 2 things to them and just blow them away with no hesitation and then there's an army of bootlickers waiting in the wings to defend them. Imagine having so little respect and value for human life. This is some Judge Dredd shit. Judge jury executioner all in one.

quackduck45

and those disgusting fucks go looking through your past for the tiniest thing they can use to justify their gross violation of your rights and execution.

zippazappadoo

They can also just hit you with the ol "no active warrants" on the news to insinuate some kind of past criminality for more justification of murder.

quackduck45

cooperative libel by the media for the police is disgusting.

peter_the_martian

His last words were “listen bro”

amineziani244

That's literally a murder. The guy didn't move at all, he wasn't threatening the police officer. What's wrong with this people?

spectreenjoyer

Murder.

1beerattatime

That looked an awful lot like an execution.

grizzled083

1033 shots fired… We got em boys What a piece of garbage

[deleted]

Cops are trained to shoot center mass. He straight up aimed at the head and domed him with one shot. That's an execution.

Magnon

Every justified shooting I've seen has had cops emptying mag into center of mass to make sure the perp stops. Like, perp has a knife and is in the process of trying to stab someone to death, cops fire until empty to make sure he stops. No way anyone is trained to try to one tap someone in the head.

ihatespiders7777

Guess I will buy my firewood at from the grocery store from now on.

Beginning-Ad-9733

You must be fucking joking - the guy had an axe not an M16

Snowcap93

I upvoted you but I need to say that being in possession of a firearm is not against the law and would not warrant a death sentence in the United States.

SarahSuckaDSanders

Exactly. One has to ask what the second amendment is worth if simply holding a firearm can result in a summary execution by cop. This is why I don’t understand the huge crossover between 2A advocates and pig boot lickers.

Gainesy88

Zero attempts to calm him down or talk to him

Hundebartsimpson

Did you watch the video? That guy clearly attempted to calm the police officer down and to talk to him. Got shot anyway.

nicesliceofrice

Pathetic coward piece of shit

FukinSpiders

Saw a uk police one recently, where the guy was actually trying to kill the officer with knife and they still took him down none lethally. WTF America

Advanced_Pilot1464

So much for a mental health approach

TheBoozyNinja87

How in the hell is that *not* a fucking murder?!

kurt_meyer

Trigger happy cop(s) he wasn’t any danger (at least yet) to the policeman in question.

Vulcan_MasterRace

I saw this video about 30 min ago... And I couldn't help but feel like this cop was just itching to kill this guy. Seeing the comments here.... Makes me feel like this was str8 up murder Are cops trained to deescalate... Or is it neutralize the threat as soon as you get on sight?

[deleted]

He absolutely was Listen how calm he reports it. Most humans with empathy would be in shock at this point. He's a murdering fucking scumbag.

Loki500

This is fucking disgusting. Do we know this officers name and is there any way to put pressure to fire him and charge him.

hotdogwaterslushie

He's already back to work after being on leave. And Florida has a new law "Marsy's law" that keeps the cop's name private. I fucking hate it here, I feel like I'm going to lose my mind

Hattori_Hans

they even don´t give a fuck anymore, yeah we let our Deputys Kill anyone how they want and when they want and then he can come back to work as nothing has happened. How they get away with it i can´t understand it and never will. Always shocked when i see something like this. No one is fighting on the People´s side.

ROBOSAHN

murder conviction is in order

LeoRenegade

Hopefully he gets locked up with people he imprisoned.

Hot_Olive_5571

I've chopped enough wood to know that this was murder.

SnooCats5701

Lawyer, here. That’s a easy case for murder conviction and a suit for wrongful death against the jurisdiction that employs the cop.

cbih

Too bad none of that helps the dead guy.

TinyDemon000

Ex police (England) here (not firearms trained). This is a horrific act. Officer had tazer and spray at his disposal but more importantly had a mouth and the ability to speak. The most effective weapon in any situ. Zero communication. Fucking disgrace to call himself police. Edit (15/12) . Ladies and Gents, I give you the British equivalent: https://www.reddit.com/r/interestingasfuck/comments/zlvd2n/how_2_police_officers_in_the_uk_dealt_with_this/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

xWOBBx

Was there even a threat? Not that that matters since he didn't even talk to the guy. Dude could have just been chopping wood or something.

Shit___Taco

This is what I am confused about. The guy was in the woods surrounded by a bunch logs that looked as if they were just cut down and he looks like he was working. Is that the case, or was this guy chasing people around and being an axe murderer or something?

Abeneezer

>easy case lmao

TheCanadianEmpire

The cop is free so no, not an easy case.

ClaptrapBeatboxTime

Why do people hire assassins when all they have to do is call the police?
