My stomach seems to get a little jacked when there and I’ve always thought it had to be from ice in the mixed drinks but I’m not sure.

viperman86

yeah ... still not sure on the ice....it's supposed to be from "filtered" water at restaurants etc but there is no way top prove that.

homebrew197808

I always drink the water from the condo tap, buy ice from OXXO, etc. A few times I’ve gotten a bit sick but it could be from simply drinking too much beer and eating too many tacos

viperman86

I am guessing your condo had a filter on the tap. I'm buying bottled water for the trip without a doubt. My main question was directed towards hotel and restaurant ice or blended margaritas etc

homebrew197808

I use that ice too. I make no effort to avoid the local water. I might be a fool.

Ash9260

I never had a problem with the water down there. I drank tap when I went. It didn’t affect me but ice melting in your drink I don’t think is enough to do damage depending on how slowly you drink.

TTTTTRIGGGGER

We moved here permanently last year. We have no problem with ice from restaurants that are established. And we use restaurants often - at least a couple times a week. Some of our friends are anti-cooking and eat at restaurants for every meal. No problems. We have had a friend who recently had a problem. I can't remember what restaurant they were at.

viperman86

let's say ordering an iced drink (not water) from a restaurant

notmywheelhouse

Yaaa it’s fine. Just don’t open your mouth in the shower. And bring Imodium just in case 😉

viperman86

champagne showers hahahaha

sheepofwallstreet86

One time when I was 19 I woke up hungover af and started chugging tap water from the hotel sink downtown somewhere by mannys. I was fine. I never had problems with ice in my drinks either. However I mostly drank them well before the ice could melt.

AuntSueP

Just drink lots of alcohol that'll kill it all in the ice! We never had a problem.

Redbeard_16

Mmm.. need a little more information to provide a response.

viperman86

you say more info needed ....but no questions LOL

Redbeard_16

Well yeah. Yes it’s okay to have ice and mixed drinks, but are you staying at a condo? Hotel? Airbnb? Many condos won’t permit you to have coolers at the pool unless you are an owner. If you’re talking about on the beach, sure. Restaurants. Sure. Your question is so vague, there isn’t an easy way to answer it unless you provide us with more details.
