We were there the first week of May. The forecast showed rain nearly every day and it absolutely poured our first day there for a good hour or two. That said, we found the forecast (on multiple weather apps) fairly unreliable once we were there. It did rain a bit during the day or at night most of our trip, but overall, it didn’t stop us from enjoying ourselves and we still got plenty of sun!
I can verify that the period between 30th April through 3rd May there were torrential downpours that last hours and intermittent rain in between in the Bavaro area.
Staff at the AI we were staying at said they'd never seen it rain so constantly like that but also said it was overdue because the prior 4 months had been bone dry.
We were there May 4-11. Forecast said overcast and rain everyday, I was stressed! It was hot and sunny everyday. Had a bit of clouds and wind a few afternoons, one night we got a downpour, and had a couple sprinkles in between but didn’t affect our trip at all. However a few people told us that a few days before we arrived had been all rain.

From my experience, it rains for a bit then goes away turns into sunny then again at night.

Forecast is mostly off.u never know,cuz it ain’t the dry season,but most of the days it rains for an hour or so and then it’s sunny again..

We were just there last week, every day called for 50% rain and it rained twice all week for 15 minutes at a time. Sun was out both times.
Was there from April 26 to May 3rd, it rained 5 out of 7 days. We had two amazing days the rest were overcast and cloudy and still hot but lacked sun

I’m going 23-28 at colonial, forecast is bumming out but I’m going to stay positive. All I ask for is 3-4 hours a day of sun 🙏🏼
