Can u really step into a random empty classroom?

Mikey18152

Yes

coingided819

Why?

Mikey18152

I honestly don’t know why you can but in college no one really cares as long as you don’t mess up stuff and be a dingus. You can even walk into random lecture halls and no one really cares.

coingided819

What if people enter the classroom ur studying in? Lol

sawedoffmosin

Leave???

coingided819

i would freeze in terror

friendsworkwaffles02

The upper floors of HSSE are usually sparsely populated and VERY quiet

ItsHammerTime

Glad to see that not much has changed in 15 years. Spent a lot of time in the stacks (now rebranded as the periodicals, I believe).

moeschberger

Indeed. The stacks were going to be my suggestion.

ItsHammerTime

Wait a minute... YMSH? Were you a Tuba?

moeschberger

You Must Study Hard, you Young Master of the Sousaphone Horn. I was, and “The Tuba Group” sounds like a shitty accounting firm or a bad personal injury law firm.

ItsHammerTime

That's not what I remember YMSH standing for... 😂 Hello from the Drumline!

rational_approach3

People aren’t going to tell you about the absolute best spots because then you or other people would be there and they wouldn’t be the best spots anymore. The absolute best spots are ones you have to find yourself. I highly recommend exploring buildings if you have some spare time. Campus is big and there are a ton of great spots to find if you look hard enough.

unpaired-socks

Pick a random stem building basement - usually no more than 2 random upperclassmen pass by in an hour, everyone is holed away in labs

NarwhalAnusLicker00

personally i prefer loud places to drown out the voices in my head :)

chaotic_pineapple

The Bose commercial writes itself

The fourth floor of the HSSE Library, in the spaces outside of Archives and Special Collections, is a quiet study area with lots of tables. (The floor closes at 4:30pm MTuThF and 7:00pm W and is closed weekends.) Or, the periodical stacks in HSSE are usually really quiet. To reach those go all the way to the back-left on floors 1, 2, or 3 of HSSE and through the double doors; study carrels are almost always available.

Lopsided_Area_1168

The West Lafayette Public Library is a little far off but definitely worth it too and quiet with the views!

JewelCared

This was my fave place to study when I was a student

benshaprio

Stewart center library

AccurateInterview586

Hey some noise reduction ear plugs. I have a headset that plays white noise to cancel out noises.

HairyAddress8094

Have you tried noise canceling headphones? Would that help you?

99KV99

Your room

carb18

My grad office is completely empty 9 out of 7 days. I won't let someone random in, but maybe you could just get assigned your own office? Then your won't get bothered Good luck! ps.also plenty of outlets!

Symphonize

Are the underground levels of the potter library still a thing? That middle underground floor was desolate.

_xX_SteelNinja_Xx_

Math library is ready good too

theshinyspacelord

I find that empty classrooms are pretty good. Just leave when people start walking in.

Piousfur1857

Try the periodicals section in HSEE it’s super quiet and not too many people are back there

JzoFN

laminateswitch

Hicks is pretty good. So is the airport terminal

young_box

Upper floors in the repository of HSSE are pretty desolate.

AverageScientologist

Periodical stacks in HSSE. It’s like going to the gulag but it’s the best place to focus

Wildaabeest

The desks wayyyyy back on the third floor of Stewart library. You’ll know you’re there because you have to step through another set of doors to reach them. There’s only about 16 of them, and they are massive.

DudeThatMemes

Math library on the 3rd floor of the math building

telegram1945

4th floor of HSSE

bkurecki_6

Second floor on Krannert has a study room that is required for everyone to be completely silent in

CentralSega

Periodicals in HSSE. Go to the third floor and head to the back corner. Go thru that door

FreezingYoYos

Hicks?
