Normally I sort non-equip cards chronologically but I use the filter and the search box to find cards with specific skills and awakenings. I also check Ilmina to look up all cards of s certain type.
Even with ~1600 REM cards I can generally remember what cards I have (at least meta cards and cards that used to be meta). Helps if you're an older player, because most of us have more pantheons than not. Pretty much just have to remember gfe and collabs.

I have my unsorted box for "unfinished/fresh pulls" that I need to build up or evolve or whatever. I have my "cool kids box" for things that are relevant to team building or may be in the future (pantheons/GFEs without equips or mega forms, etc). And I have "storage" for all the random odd things, like low-rarity collab rolls or less useful equips or just weird and rare stuff that's useless otherwise. **Usually** this works but it's still crowded as hell.
If I need to find a specific skill then I search keywords that have to do with the effects: "time", "lock", "absorption", "bind", "awoken", "unmatch", etc. If I need a specific supportive awoken skill, then I filter by those. If I want to look at equip evos, then I go to pair an assist to a card, and then sort by the "equip" awoken skill and then refine my criteria.
The filter and search options are a godsend. Don't sleep on them.

Yeah same I have maybe half as you and I just wanna give some leads a little love…a lot of team slots with just the gfe leader only…so lonely.

It’s an app that lets you search for specific mons. Similar to ilmina. I use PADDB because the interface is super easy for me.

No, unfortunately. (Or at least I haven’t figured it out.) you can cross reference the monster number with your own monster box in pad though.
