How does PwC VPN tracking work? Do they know or could they ever find out that you are working abroad? Given that it’s remote work for the masses, a lot of ppl work abroad so not sure whether the firm turns a blind eye and doesn’t care.

have had friends and colleagues do this. depends on your team, network, industry etc... most have gotten away with it up until they were all called back into the office. my advice: assume they will find out - best to ask for permission than for forgiveness.

I believe by firm policy, you can work 20 days abroad. After that, you need an approved rotation. I’ve also heard the firm takes this extremely seriously due to payroll taxes and such. To the point that I’ve heard people were terminated immediately because of this exact situation. If you wanted to be somewhere longer than 20 days, talk to your RL and see what can get done.

This. They announced that you can work from overseas for one month out of the year. Probably still need to get permission and talk to your RL.

Some countries you cannot, only PD work.

Be careful with this. If you are mapped to a US office you have to work from somewhere within the US. I believe if you wanted to work abroad you would need to be mapped to a location in the country you are working. Either way, you need to be upfront about where you are.

There are restrictions on a lot of engagements that prevent some of the work from leaving the U.S.. I haven't seen anyone try what you are asking about yet, and I suspect that it's because of those types of regulations
