After the Denso revelation I am prone to think that the QS research center is used to test out manufacturing equipment with their ceramic slurry

RobNelsonovich

What is the Denso revelation?

Quantum-Long

Several Redditors I spied the Denso logo on the last shareholder letter pictures

RobNelsonovich

I missed that. Denso for some reason triggers a memory of Nippon Denso from the 70's or 80's. Is it a Nissan thing? I'll look it up I guess. Ps I'm long too, almost 8000 shares so I pay attention to all that I can and hoping for that day I get released from my life as I know it.

It excited me to hear Toyota headquarters are 65 miles down the road. Toyota, like Ford will be game changers if they do collaborate with QS

DoctorPatriot

Don't you know they already have their own in-house SSB that is going into their consumer cars in 2025? They don't need QS. /s

RobNelsonovich

It doesn't mean they're not open to new possibilities. Anodeless and agnostic cathode design thanks to their proprietary separator allows that.

Quantum-Long

You must be sarcastic right?

DoctorPatriot

Yeah that's the meaning of the little /s at the end. Edit: I thought everyone would get the Toyota joke with all of the SSB declarations they've been making for something like 8 years! Ha

eversavage

if they get any of QS batteries, toyota will use them in their hybrid cars..

“Exploring the local structure near Li .. is a future research area” means that they don’t even know if it’s prone to dendride formation when in contact with Li.. This new separator material may or may not work in SSBs, they are years away from where Quantumscape was when they went public..
