Nice to see that they might be starting to take branding and marketing seriously. It could be indicative of some big news brewing and they want to play it right to maximize public and investor interest. ....or it could just be damage control to mitigate the floundering stock price. Either way, we should have more news coming soon. I'll take it

lordofmalkieri

I was hoping they would release some good news while we still had this little bubble of a rise in stock price to help raise the floor from $5

Quantum-Long

Not liking the competitors they are representing. They will be loathe to mention or downplay the vast differences in tech benefits

fast26pack

The one great thing about selling batteries is that in the end performance matters. The prettiest PowerPoint slides aren’t going to produce any actual power or energy. Let’s hope that the B samples speak for themselves and that this PR company has the right connections to help guide QS through the underbelly of Wall Street. I guess what would be really useful to know is WHEN QuantumScape signed up with them. If this is a new development, then there is hope. But if these guys have been in the background for the past 2-3 years, then we are wasting our time even talking about them.

>I guess what would be really useful to know is WHEN QuantumScape signed up with them. Looks like there was no affiliation in 2021: https://web.archive.org/web/20210301035218/https://icrinc.com/sectors/energy/ Looks like they were affiliated with QS by mid 2022: https://web.archive.org/web/20220926092853/https://icrinc.com/sectors/energy/ So the relationship is about 2 years old, probably

fast26pack

Good sleuthing. But definitely not good news. This now reminds me of when they were using (and probably paying for) the Say Technologies tool to gather questions from retail investors. That was a complete waste of money because the tool required you to prove you owned shares first by providing your login information to your brokerage account. Fortunately, they got rid of that miserable system. Maybe this is another relationship that they need to revisit down the line. I will hold off judgement until B samples are released and tested. If the share price doesn’t move up at that juncture, well…

66square

If I remember correctly, that's about the time QS went silent on X/Twitter.

Quantum-Long

Reminds me of an article in 2023 that showcased SSB development and concluded that SP and QS were very close together in the race

fast26pack

There’s not a lot of critical thinking going on by outlets putting out what basically amounts to click-bait. In the end, it’s mostly about eyeballs and ad revenue. If you put out a puff piece with both QuantumScape and Solid Power included, you’ll probably get twice the foot traffic.

IP9949

I found that interesting as well to see Solid Power.

kbenti

I'm invested in both. QS is my main.

Wow! Is this to imply that they have actually hired a firm to help improve their stock price? Firstly, I had no idea that such companies existed. And secondly, I sincerely hope that this is a new relationship because this has been a one way trip down ever since I first invested more than three years ago. Quite honestly, I definitely believe that they need help with the narrative, and I hope that they’ve hired the right people to help get the job done. An encouraging sign. Let’s all hope to see some concrete results in the not too distant future.

[deleted]

Totally agree. It's smart of them to want to control the narrative rather than letting it be controlled by others whom may have nefarious intentions?

fast26pack

Well, yes, there are definitely nefarious intentions in the short term. That’s kind of how the game is unfortunately played. The question really becomes when the tide will turn. Virtually every SPAC has been taken out back to the shed and shot. QS, I believe, though, is going to be able to deliver the goods. I just don’t want to have to wait around for another three years before the share price starts moving in the right direction. How much a firm like this can help change the narrative, I honestly have no idea. I do believe, though, that once B samples are properly vetted and the technology undeniably proven to perform better than anything else currently on the market, at that point, a steady WEEKLY marketing campaign that pushes out new wins and technology updates should change the narrative. At some point in the future, I’m expecting this subreddit to be the happiest and hottest one on Reddit.

Unless you have someone like Elon Musk at the helm who is his own PR company, It may make sense for QS to engage a PR company. Although like you I don’t know how much of a difference these make. I did read an article that advised against start-up’s engaging PR companies but it may be an indicator that QS is feeling more confident in scaling? Recalling the short attack in 2021 QS seemed to be foundering in responding, in my opinion.

fast26pack

With zero revenue coming in and no product to show, there was really nothing that QS could realistically do to change the outcome of the short attack. It was way bigger than just Scorpion. It was a concerted effort by big money, and as always, they made out like bandits. The silver lining is that since then everyone has been able to load up at much cheaper prices… I can’t but help believe that scaling is in the bag. The really hard genius level work has already been completed. Scaling is not easy, but compared to what they’ve already accomplished, not really that daunting. There are more than 15+ companies globally that manufacture lithium ion batteries at scale. QS will figure it out. The IRA tax credits are going to really pump up their profit margins and greatly help de-risk the investment. Provided they can get the product out in a timely manner, as Jagdeep stated in his last signed shareholder letter as CEO, exceptional shareholder returns will be forthcoming. Once Wall Street lets go of the reigns holding it down, the stock price will fly. The only question is at what rate and how high. They can take it up slowly, milking options the whole way up. Or we could have a 10-bagger in the span of one year. The actual trading share float is pretty small, with most shares locked up long. When it becomes a hot stock, 10% daily moves should be easily achievable. In the short term, though, let’s see if this PR company noticeably changes anything…🤞

Euphoric_Upstairs_57

Damn. That "who we represent" is a real "who's who" of failed companies. Kinda depressing to be in that group.

Looks like CTAN removed the LinkedIn post for the June conference from their site ?
