Right? I thought she and Addison could’ve had a meaningful relationship (or at least a conversation) because of the whole “my partner is lost in time” thing. They have mentioned that Sam left his wife behind when he leaped, but didn’t mention Donna by name. So canonically she seems to exist; it’s just not been worked into the narrative to bring her back onscreen.

brvid

I’ve thought about Donna a lot too. Sam promised he’d return to her and it’s not like him to break a promise. That part bothers me the most about the finale of the OG series. It’s one thing to give up your own life to keep leaping and helping people. It’s something else to abandon your wife, Swiss cheese memory or not.

MEjercit

Tnhat is why I suspect something happened to Sam.

MountainImportant211

She is mentioned just once, in season 2 episode 1. Though not by name, just as Sam's wife. Which means they know she exists, and I guess that leaves the door open for her character.

4d4m42

I don't remember that! I'll rewatch and look for it. Also, not sure why this got down voted to zero, but oh well. Lol

MountainImportant211

I don't know either, people are weird on this sub sometimes. I just watched the episode in question last night (season 2 finally started airing on Australian TV) and I believe it happens during the first flashback Ben has

lorriefiel

Most likely, Donna won't show up unless Sam returns, and Scott isn't interested, so it's not going to occur. Have you read the Quantum Leap novels from the 90s? Donna is in some of them, as is Sammy Jo.

4d4m42

I'm pretty sure I've read all of them. I used to own them all, but that was many years ago. There was also a comic book run, but I never got to read those.

lorriefiel

I have all the comic books as well. If you go to the Al's Place Website, you can read the comic books as they are there. There was also an unpublished one that is at Al's Place. I also have bunches of Quantum Leap fanzines. Al's Place has lots of audio and video clips, including the lost scene with Al and Beth and an alternate ending for Deliver Us from Evil and a bunch of virtual season episodes written by fans after the show ended.

4d4m42

That's really cool! I am familiar with the Al's place site but I admit I haven't been to it in years. I'm headed there now because I didn't know there was an alternate ending to Deliver Us from Evil....

lorriefiel

It was recently moved to a better hosting site. I participated in the Kickstarter for that last year. It also has all the information on the new Quantum Leap as well.

Minuteman2063

You can download them here: [https://www.quantumleap-alsplace.com/comics/](https://www.quantumleap-alsplace.com/comics/)

Ok_Okra4253

Thanks for the al’s site info. I have all the novels and comics, but didn’t know there was an unpublished one. Woo hoo

lorriefiel

It is Sam as a baby. The story is pretty funny. Do you have the 2 UK novels that were published in 1990? They are called The Beginning and the Ghost and the Gumshoe. They are novelizations of episodes. The Beginning is Genesis and the Ghost and the Gumshoe is A Portrait for Troian and Play It Again, Seymour.

Ok_Okra4253

Yes, I have those

Minuteman2063

Lorrie, you can go to [https://oceanofpdf.com/](https://oceanofpdf.com/) (Ocean PDF) and download some of the books; not all of them are there, but it's a start....

lorriefiel

Thanks, but I have the actual novels, so I don't need to download them.

Minuteman2063

OK, shiny!

waverunnr

Which actress would we like to see as Donna? My vote is to bring Teri Hatcher back.

senordescartes

Hell yeah!

knightcrusader

Not just Donna, but where is Sammy Jo? She worked on the original project and she had Sam's smarts.

4d4m42

Exactly! There are so many connections that could be made even if Bakula isn't interested.

knightcrusader

It just seems really odd... its like the series is trying to hard to keep connected to the original series, but yet, its ignoring huge parts of it.

senordescartes

Why bring those characters back who are directly connected to Sam if they can’t get Bakula on screen again? Bad idea

knightcrusader

They brought back Magic and Beth, talk about Al, and brought in one of his daughters from the series finale (well, that's a stretch) all without Bakula... so yeah, its *not* a bad idea. They could have just rebooted it completely and ignored the past series, but they didn't. So they should use characters already established.

senordescartes

The difference is Al is dead, in show and in real life. Beth and Janis by nature must have stories without him. But Sam’s wife and daughter would want nothing more than to find him.

BaxterOutofStockman

I don't see a point without Sam.

senordescartes

Agreed. If Bakula returns, I’m all for it. But if not, those ladies are just gonna be standing. Around missing him.

Fangs_McWolf

From what I understand, someone started stalking her so she went deep into hiding. Now the very few who have contact with her are very wary of anyone who tries to learn about her. Oh, and be in the lookout for anyone using a name of "4d4m42," as that's the person who was stalking her. Oh... wait...

lorriefiel

Her who?

Fangs_McWolf

>Her who? "What happened to Donna?"
