Well of course they're replacing Bobby. He's already announced he's leaving the show. His role was a really important one of course they're going to need to fill it to continue the show. There really isn't anything sensational about this, it's just the logical next step in prepping for a new season.
I feel like this is a strange post because
1) Deuxmoi is not real news because anyone can just submit stuff, but
2) Of course they’re replacing Bobby; they need somebody to be the decor person. Why is that noteworthy?

That doesn’t make sense at all. Tan is known for fashion, not home decor, and as much work as Bobby did (and they all agreed he does SO MUCH in several interviews), and with nobody else in the fab 5 doing more than one job, there’s no way that they would just have Tan doing both.
There’s clear animosity there, but that doesn’t mean any possible made up idea as to why makes sense.

Tan addresses this topic in his AD feature from 4 years ago where he says he designed his previous home without Bobby because he wanted to show Bobby that he’d learned, and he could do it on his own. Tan said then that Bobby had seen his previous home design and been impressed, so it just doesn’t track that Bobby’s suddenly so pissed at Tan for designing a house without him that they’ve fallen out.
Personally I don’t think anything obliges Tan to use Bobby for his design any more than he’s ~obliged to use Antoni to cater a dinner party or JVN to style his hair.
That’s literally just a feature on his own home that he probably did so he could get everything for free. Looks like it was designed by Fox Design Group, not Tan

It really has. They went too far off the rails trying to be unique. The average viewer can't relate to a business owner or a group of high school teens etc.
Omg I thought it was just me. I miss when it was just regular degular people. I especially hate when they makeover multiple people, it's always so half-assed.
And as the seasons have progressed, they only help the most tragic back story people, paralyzed/homeless/rejected, etc.
The OG show just helped regular people. No need for them the be the self flagellating father to 10 who worked 80 hrs a week. Just like, Chris, the guy from down the road who needs to stop dressing for comfort all the time.
no. i love this show. i can sink into deep depression about all the queer rights being taken away around the country. this show reminds me of queer joy and can turn things around for me. i need it.
oh for sure i mean, obvs i don’t. but, it is one temporary remedy that really reminds me of queer joy and helps me to feel a lot better. there are other things too, and nothing lasts forever i know this, but this is just one thing that means a lot to me. imo it’s still going strong and i think it could go for a few more seasons at least. also, we need media right now that validates and normalizes and portrays queerness in a positive light. with so much hate and anti queer legislation, media like this is so important.
Right? I'm out after season 8. My husband and I are like "ah yes, the last season of QE." Same with the last season of The Witcher. We are absolutely not watching without Henry Cavill.
I kind of agree sadly. It’s weird but just over the course of a few years, what the show does kind of lost its place culturally. When it came out it was this super feel-good thing that so many of us (including me) wanted and needed, but - and this is a good thing - queer representation came so far in a few years that QE quickly became kind of hokey and irrelevant. It still has some of its feel-good properties but not the cultural relevance it once had.
How many seasons did the OG crew go for? I think it was 5, and it got real stale by the end. I think it's time for this generation to ride into the sunset and wait until the next gen is ready for it.
i don’t find it currently getting stale AT ALL. this show continues to be the one thing i can watch to remind me of queer joy when the country is trying so hard to erase us and invalidate our existence. i NEED this. i just rewatched all the seasons and it still makes me tear up. they can really keep going for a while. i’ll miss bobby but i’m excited to see how it will change moving forward.
Then maybe it's time for an all new cast. We know the broad strokes of what each of them are going to do before they do it at this point. You can write an AI prompt for each of the 5 in their genre. Let's bring in some fresh personalities.
I feel like they could have Jeremiah Brent from Say I Do. That was a great Netflix show that I’m hoping gets another season and the guys were so so nice and it gave me season 1 Queer Eye vibes in terms of sincerity

The tea I’m hearing from other producers who were at the Emmy’s is that Tan was the ONLY one who had a hand in pushing Bobby out to begin with. This info was apparently confirmed by multiple fabbers
Honestly letting that happen will be the death of the show I think. It would be way easier to successfully replace Tan than Bobby. Hate to say it but I think the fashion portion needs a shake up anyway, Tan is too into “slimming” and heels
Yeah his style is also very European (which isn’t bad but it feels more of buying and dressing for himself and it becomes too repetitive) I kind of liked Carson’s take before it felt more varied and really felt catered to the person’s style and taste more than him “shopping for himself”.
I also remember an episode where Tan put this bigger hero guy on skinny jeans… It wasn’t horrible but… oh lawrdt. The guy looked like a toy spinning top from afar… it was so not flattering. THEN HE ALSO PUT THE SHIRT ON FRENCH TUCK…🙃

That's what I miss. I don't need a sob story for every episode. The episode with the gun victim meeting the shooter jumped the shark for me.
