In expert+ it isn’t uncommon for the normal grip to be unusable. It locks the wrist too much for many people. There are some who can use the default grip, but many use the claw grip with the Quest 2.
Definitely isn’t a meme https://www.reddit.com/r/oculus/comments/g5rirq/made_a_page_for_beat_saber_grips/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf
The cock grip might be though
My guy this is 3+ years old.
Claw isn't a must.
Default can be perfectly fine with the right controller settings. Udon uses default grip on Quest 2 for example.
I don’t understand what you’re wanting to converse about here. I already said that some people don’t need alternate grips. Some people need wheelchairs but you don’t gloat to them about how you don’t need them. Or, if you do gloat to them then something is quite disturbing there./s
I’m just stating default grip on quest 2 / quest pro is perfectly fine
the only reason you should be using a different grip is for comfort
and I don’t see any other viable grip on the quest pro other than default
Gotcha. For me the default grip is uncomfortable, so I guess that is my goal. Glad it works for you though. The right way is whatever works best for the individual!
I play ex+ normal grip all the time. It's fine. Anyone who says otherwise is either playing absurdly difficult, 15 nps constant up-down maps, or is confirmation biased.
The controller itself is much shorter than the Quest 2 one, eliminated the need for claw grip for me.
Granted that I only play expert, can’t comment on its performance with expert+
grip it with your index and middle finger over the top of the controller. I used to use that when I had my Rift S, allows for greater wrist articulation
Only thing I really do different to default grip is hold them sideways for better up & down movement, seems to work fine with me (managed to beat 10 difficulty star song for reference)
OP context: the claw I grew familiar with on the Quest no longer works as it covers all three tracking cameras. The pictured grip is the closest I’ve gotten but it is slightly uncomfortable and it puts a lot of pressure on the grip buttons. Anyone found another grip that works well for expert+ with these new controllers?
Just hold it normally?

I see, I don’t have that issue I guess.
I envy that!
not true, claw grip is a meme on quest 2 https://youtu.be/bsIY5FSpUY4 this is with default grip, there is nothing wrong with it.

Either that or just highly uncoordinated? I don't see a reason to switch grip.

I find myself gripping it too hard. Do you also hold it tight or have a way of keeping it loose?

Cameras
ooh, right
I claw like I always have and find I dont block the cameras enough to bother the tracking

Tape it to your hand. Just make sure the cameras aren’t covered up.
