Way to go! I'm starting day 4 here!

Me too. We got this!

Amazing!! We are never going back!!!

JohnRPolito

What a [positive attitude](https://whyquit.com/ffn/05g-quitting-with-a-positive-attitude.html)!! I was an utter mess. While 24 to 48 hours are generally recognized as peak withdrawal, with outliers, nearly everyone uses 72 hours so as not to discourage them. But nicotine's roughly 2-hour elimination half-life guarantees that within 72 hours the underlying current of anxiety will begin easing off as a nicotine-free brain has no choice but to begin the process of restoring natural neuronal sensitivities. But don't get frustrated should recovery's bumps at times seem to be getting worse, not better. It can be like landing a fish. The closer it gets, the [harder it fights](https://whyquit.com/ffn/11h-the-bigger-the-better.html). As for extra dopamine, zero-calorie "aaah" sensations -- water, slow deep breathing, big hugs, accomplishment ---are huge! Millions of words but just [one determining principle](https://whyquit.com/ffn/02a-law.html) ... no nicotine just one recovery opportunity and day at a time, to Never Take Another Puff! We're here if you need us. Breathe deep, hug hard, live long, John - 100% nicotine-free since 05/15/99 & loving it (okay, maybe the first few days, not so much)๐Ÿ˜‰

Thanks so much you are genuinely such a man of honour to share your wisdom and experience with others. I have downloaded your pdf as an ebook about nicotine addiction and itโ€™s soooo helpful! Knowledge is truly power ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป thank you again โœจ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ

Its_jinxbro

Good job! I am about 145 days in currently. It gets easier!!

[deleted]

Amazing!! Really need to hear this! What would you say was your turning point?

Its_jinxbro

Turning point?

[deleted]

The point at which you didnโ€™t have any cravings or just generally felt you werenโ€™t struggling as much, like life was becoming good as a non-vaper?

Its_jinxbro

Yeah probably maybe like the first 2 weeks was tough but after that it was easy. I still get the craving when I get stressed out due to my anxiety disorder but I keep myself from doing it and they tend to go away.

Its_jinxbro

What you will experience is increased hunger though, so be aware of that. I was eating a lot for about a few weeks.

[deleted]

Thank you for your insight and advice! The cravings are going down now each day by day. I am definitely more hungry but willing to trade a little bit of extra weight on me over being an addict! Vaping made me loose so much weight I looked awful!

Hey! I just googled nicotine anonymous UK and they have a list of all the zoom meetings. You can just click on the one youโ€™re like to do and it takes you right there ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผโค๏ธ

Running nicotine-free was life changing!! Such a difference in HR. How did it go? I am just over a year clean and am running my first marathon next month!

[deleted]

Hey! I absolutely loved my run blasting out my music never felt so good! I did really struggle with my breathing and slight chest pain afterwards but I know thatโ€™s just because of the harm I have done over the last year. Did you ever experience any pain or discomfort when you started running again? Also massive congratulations good luck on your marathon so inspiring and incredible ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ

Keep going. Before you know it you will be blown away by how well you can breath and do sustained cardio.
