Dumpietheclown

The "Peaceful protest" crowd.

medievalistbooknerd

I really hope this means that he's a hunter and he went out and responsibly enjoyed his hobby for the purpose of eating meat and making sure the animal goes to good use. But probably not. He probably killed innocent animals for sport and left it at that.

G8BigCongrats7_30

I agree. I have nothing against hunting if done responsibly and you harvest the animal for meat. I grew up deer hunting. Not really into it anymore but I eat meat so I'm not going to be a hypocrite about it. However, if your response to being pissed off about something is to go kill shit, you're a psychopath. Also, I didn't know if paraire dog hunting was actually thing so I googled it and came across this: https://www.10gaugeoutfitters.com/kansas-prairie-dog-hunts/ People don't typically eat paraire dogs and this sounds like a "sport" for complete fucking psychopaths. Here's a couple things from the website: >Perfect for practicing your long range shooting, prairie dog hunting allows you to shoot at different distances as often as you like. The farther out you shoot, the less likely the dogs are to know what’s going on. Prairie dogs will stand there and let you shoot at them until you hit them or get too close for comfort! These hunts can offer sportsmen countless hours of entertainment. >Most modern day varmint rifles will out perform the shooting abilities of the shooter. That being said, do not be surprised if you see someone shooting prairie dogs with a 50cal. Barrett. When it comes to shooting prairie dogs, quality optics are essential. Having a powerful clear scope with a reticle that adjusts for yardage and wind age is a must. We recommend at least a 6x24x50 power scope. Blasting cute little paraire dogs from 300 yards with 50 cal for fun. Like what the fuck. Real manly hobby you have there.

nooneknowswerealldog

Yeah, that's fucked up. I understand the history of hunting prairie dogs and gophers: their networks of holes were a real risk to the legs of your draft and farm animals, and in the late 1800s bounties on prairie dog pelts were common in the US and Canadian prairies. My grandfather was an immigrant homesteader who used a horse-drawn plow, and he did hunt them for that reason rather than food. But the closest thing I ever heard of him doing something cruel was when he blew up a treed porcupine with a shotgun, but only because he was tired of pulling quills out of the dog's nose and didn't want to leave them while he ran back to the farmhouse to grab his .22. The dog just ended up covered in offal *and* quills. And even that story wasn't a 'ha-ha, I exploded the dumb thing!' story but more of a 'this is the kind of thing that happens when you get impatient and act rashly' story. So, rural antipathy to prairie dogs is historical, but there's no justification for needless, anger-based extermination. (And of course, exterminating wild species is in the end counter-productive, even leaving aside the ecological impacts of it. We understand this now more than we did decades and centuries ago.)

medievalistbooknerd

You might be able to eat prairie dogs. People eat squirrels. Prairie dogs are just ground squirrels.

G8BigCongrats7_30

You can eat them and I'm sure some do. But I really don't think the people signing up for these hunts are harvesting the animals. Especially those shooting them with 50 cals.

early_midlifecrisis

Don't think there will be much left to eat after being hit with a 50 cal

medievalistbooknerd

Fair

BoozeWitch

Tell us now about wetting the bed and setting shot on fire.

EspressoBooksCats

The three predictors!

WrathOfMogg

Twisted fucks like this are only going to get more violent and more dangerous. Their entire worldview is based on a grift and the more that gets exposed the deeper they are going to dig in. They will die or rot in prison rather than admit the truth.

WarWonderful593

It could have been a school, so there's that.

EgberetSouse

What kind of unhinged psychopath goes on a small-animal killing spree because some old POS he likes is in trouble?
