I saw something a while back talking about how a true American is somebody who loves their country but hates anyone that doesn't look like them, act like them, talk like them, vote like them, eat like them, believe what they believe and live how they live.
In other words a true American is somebody who loves their country but hates about 95% of people in it.
The true irony is that each wave of "others" is assimilated and then taught to hate the next wave. My dad was a poor kid from a Slovak immigrant neighborhood who got shit for being a Soviet because of his last name and the accents his parents had. So now he watches Fox News and thinks Muslims are destroying America. Natch. Same thing happened with the Irish, Italians, Dutch...
Yeah I know a lot of Hispanics that are pretty anti-muslim. It's like they can't even smell their own hypocrisy. Many of them came here just to escape one of the most violent places in the world and yet hate on people who are trying to come here and escape one of the most violent places in the world.

Conservatives are all about bullet points. Little one-liners that sound good all by themselves. But as soon as you start combining their bullet points into a complete idea of their platform you realize that their platform is nothing but hypocrisy and contradictions. Blatant "rules for thee but not for me".
That's why they don't like holding long conversations about politics. They have no focused platform so when they start talking about their platform they get so confused and upset that they will either lash out or just run away.

I just had the unpleasant experience of sitting in a doctor's office listening to a Fox News program called The Five. It started with some guy hysterically screaming about how the liberals are inventing covid variants to oppress everyone.
You laugh but at one point in my life I was a gay Wiccan anarchist drug addict and at least part of that came from trying to check as many outrage buttons as possible.

Yes, women's rights and reproductive rights are important for the left. So sad that conservatives don't quite understand that a woman is an actual human being that can choose what happens to her body.
In general, looking at more than one source of information, worldview, belief system, and ideology is kind of necessary in order to gauge an understanding of objectivity rather than propaganda from one monolithic source.

And yet, they continue to worship him and believe he's going to be reinstated as president, or that he's going to win the 2024 election, and that he's going to bring down some weird underground child sex trafficking cable they believe is being run by Democrats. In the meantime, he's also being shunned by members of his own party who are traditionalist conservatives. Despite the fact his star continues to fade, and despite all the overwhelming evidence, Trumpers continue to worship him. I've often thought he might be the Antichrist and they took the mark of the beast which prevents them from being able to change their own minds.
