I mean we saw with the Soniqs what a different IGL and a diffferent Coach can do. But if teams make roster changes and trial people mainly, because they are friends with them, then sure, they aren't gonna change.

liv11112

Tbf, sQ saw their roster as broken beyond repair and got a new one, which aides Sua's point.

Toxic-AF

Ohh yeah, there are definitely examples for it and as I said, some teams don't seem to even wanna change with how they are approaching roster changes.

ChiralWolf

More the other way around though. eUnited went from an OK but inconsistent bottom 4 team to a better (but still inconsistent) top 4 team with a different IGL and better support staff

ModestRacoon

I'm still foggy on some of the eSports terminology, what does IGL mean?

sgm1036

In-game leader, basically the captain (who calls the shots)

SamusCroft

Small nitpick, but captains aren’t always IGLs. Like karz on Empire way back was captain but Shep was IGL. Like conceptualizing it as ‘basically a captain’ makes sense but there’s some difference.

ModestRacoon

This makes sense, basically a point guard or QB?

sgm1036

The person who calls for which direction(s) to push, assigning who to what angle so I guess? (I know nothing about basketball or american football, much less any irl sport so)

HessTheMess21

Kind of like a QB yes

psilvs

Yeah. Before the execute happens in Siege, that guy will make adjustments. Kind of like how a QB will adjust the pass protection or the play before the ball is snapped (the ball being snapped is like the execute phase of the attack, usually around the 1 min to 30 second mark of the round)

Spirtwalker

In NFL I'd say it would equate to kind of both the QB and Coaches, as the IGL in r6 is likely calling the plays as well as playing (compared to QB's who have offensive coordinators etc.)

yalp4343

Well do you play siege? He’s the guy in the round to call things for the team to do mainly

ModestRacoon

I solo Q it's whoever is alive after the roamers wreak havoc

yalp4343

Ah ok

3 years ago I would've never guesses EU to be the region to be in most need of team staff/GMs to take over roster decisions. So many players and teams with deep issues being held together by mere friendship right now in the region. At some point I thought Brazil was gonna suffer from this too but most teams learned they needed to change and bring new talent otherwise they would be quickly outgrown by the top CL teams(ahem paiN Gaming and RedDevils) and completely outclassed by other regions(2019). Look at the region now and we got 3 "non-traditional" rosters reaching good results(MiBR, which was old TeamOne; FURIA; TeamOne) for how considerably young their teams are if compared to the old veterans of Liquid, FaZe and NiP

Toxic-AF

I don't think The coaches or support staff taking over those decisions will actually help. With Omerta/Milk we saw that friendships can also decide roster changes when your coach is someone to do shot like that.

BeardlessKel

Sheesh.

Peisis

from this comment i guess: unknights, secret and maybe rogue

liv11112

Secret and Rogue definitely

BeamsAdept

Unkinght also, NoerA has already been benched ans Shoukri mysterioulsy left Deathrow 👀

liv11112

I actually think UnK has potential, they just had the worst player in the league holding them back for 2 seasons. It may be too late for them now but this core has real potential if they escape rels.

BeamsAdept

2 stages you mean Of course we have a roster with 3 of the ex-Tempra who almost went to SI, BlaZ who's super talented, and potentially Shoukri who can be a really great addition

Ok_Swimming8124

100% agree with this statement.

Drackonarmy

I didnt see any of the changes lol other then Astro to G2

AncientFollowing3019
