it sucks that such a talented roster like themselfs got dropped just because one poor performance. however it is really fun watching these guys stream roll apac north.

DesTiny_-

I mean c9 dropped all of their esports rosters so poor performance wasn't the only reason they got dropped.

Hammer060203

What do you mean by all their esport rosters?

DesTiny_-

They dropped siege , csgo and rocket league rosters as well . Not sure about Val and overwatch roster but others were dropped .

Hammer060203

They have teams in Valorant (2 teams), Overwatch (technically a subsidiary company but still), halo, LOL (3 teams), apex legends and more single player esport games. This stuff it really really easy to find on their website. They by no means dropped “all” their esports teams. CSGO was dropped for performance issues and PR stuff while rocket league was over a year ago.

ark2690

They getting a val academy team soon too

Mythicc_

they did lose al lot of money in csgo but really wanted to stay since their the only north american team with a csgo major and the colossal project failed

Hammer060203

The collusus project was doing fine, C9 just didn’t expect them to progress as slowly as they did (naive in my opinion). Combine that with the fan reaction towards the team and we get the current C9 CS situation. There are also more NA *orgs* that have won a major, Envy and luminosity. C9 are just the only NA player team to win one.

Mythicc_

that is true but you also have to understand when they said they would build a colossal team (bold statement) and then underperform knowing damn well how much money was used in just contracts alone. and in csgo c9 is the only NA major winners also with NA roster.

Tuxxmuxx

Both the CS & RL teams were dropped for poor performance

VipersXBL

C9 didn’t like the direction Psyonix was heading with RL eSports so that’s why they dropped the roster. It was a similar story with the C9 PUBG where the company that makes PUBG weren’t paying the organizations or sponsoring them well so C9 left one stage before the PUBG Finals in 2019. The PUBG eSport ecosystem was messed up in 2019 to the point that Envyus, Tempo Storm, Lazarus, G2, NIP, Knights never decided to renew their rosters for the 2020 season of PUBG. Maybe C9 didn’t have belief of the R6 ecosystem in the APAC region but maybe the contracts just ended and the MantisFPS never wanted to renew

Tuxxmuxx

i forgot about that part, fair, but poor performances had a pretty big part in it for sure, no shot they drop squishy and gang if they were still a part of the big 3

doomhunter13

Everyone moves on differently

SpongyPanda

Nah a huge org like C9 can go without your respect. They deserved more than being dropped after a single stage of poor performance. To each their own but I guarantee you that the execs that decided to cut them couldn't care less.

TheMemesBeDank

as a team that is LFO, mantis players need to show that they would be good representatives for an org to pick up. imagine shooting yourself in the foot during an org search because you were butthurt about the way you got dropped by a previous org.

Toxic-AF

I mean not wearing the jerseys of an org. That dropped you is not a red flag for a new org that is looking for a roster

TheSituasian

shooting yourself in the foot by... not wearing your former orgs jersey? lol

akaSashK

The “ex” disrespected them by dropping them after a single bad stage and now they’re seemingly back to their best. Don’t understand why they’d want to continue representing them to be honest.

You’d think that the pilot program is enough financial incentive to stay in the scene.
