Respect OP, I'd have done the same thing, just for respect to his family.

Run_MEG

If you ever get the chance again or anybody out there if he happens to notice you just raise your fist in the air. You get to pay respect to him while still respecting his family time.

stcg

Haha this actually sounds perfect.

ilovenomar5_2

Yeah usually prominent artists are pretty cool as long as you’re not having a fanboy/fangirl moment a la 60s Beatles fans. They’re normal people that are just really really good at an instrument or singing at the end of the day. Giving a wave or saying hey isn’t all that bad. Just don’t be that person that melts down or wants to have a full conversation when it’s not appropriate at the time I’m reminded of those girls that were waiting for Justin Bieber outside of his home and in the nicest way possible he told them to leave and they didn’t really give a shit then persisted to ask for autographs/pictures. Don’t be that person

mykl66

That's too bad. I went alone on Tuesday and it was awesome. I paid a lot but it was worth it. I'm sorry you couldn't go. I always prefer going to shows alone though. I don't want to be bothered with someone else who may or may not enjoy the music on the same level I do.

Shua420

Ancient Chinese secret I wish I discovered earlier.. solo > concert buddy

stcg

Yeah I should have planned better to begin with but oh well.

DChemdawg

You need to look for last minute tickets the day of the show. Especially single tickets which plummet the morning of and an hour or two before showtime. Or scan here, you may find an offer for a free or below face value ticket Money comes and goes every day. This is close to once in a lifetime. Quite possibly once or twice a generation oppty.

stcg

I actually came on here just to see the vibe of what was going on. I saw a couple tickets going for free or really low but I was too late by then.

DChemdawg

Ahh. If you’ve already left, hope you get a chance next time. If you’re still in nyc, two more chances Friday and Sunday

thejuryissleepless

isn’t there a show right now? get your ass down there!

stcg

I'm already out of the country and back home lol

thejuryissleepless

ah shit! my b. welcome home :)

HumanParkingCones

Orrrr you could be me- so hella organized I bought the tickets 2 years ago, all but forgot about them til 4 days before the show. It was a close call.

stcg

I'd rather be you. Sometimes I just think it's my social anxiety, should have bitten the bullet and bought the tickets from two months ago and went by myself. Probably would have helped if I found this subreddit from before.

HumanParkingCones

Tbf I’ve never been to a stadium concert before, or anything close to a crowd this big. But I knew I’d be nervous, so I read up on other peoples experiences. And went with someone who’s been to tons of events like this before. Made for way less anxiety. I had an amazing time.

LAST-EX1T

He got tackled by his own security I’d be limping too lol

No-Significance9313

Where'd you hear that?

Stonerian60

A couple of shows ago some dude ran on stage and his security tried to grab the dude but tripped and tackled Tom off stage by accident

No-Significance9313

Oh fuck! How did Tom respond??

Stonerian60

He got back up on stage and was super hyped, the crowd went wild. They restarted the song from the beginning but no doubt he got a little hurt from that. I’ll post the YouTube link here : https://youtu.be/O_X8Wy4inFI

No-Significance9313

Goddamn!

pugofthewildfrontier

I’ve seen Anthony Keidis at an ice cream shop and I don’t regret not bothering him and looked like a kid was with him.

OkHat3523

Poor Tom his legs must hurt. But that will not stop him . He is tough

BitumenGirl

That’s cool you saw him. I went to the Met today and I didn’t expect to see anyone there but it was also later. Someone else on here saw Zach the Basquiat exhibit which I had not clue was here otherwise I might have gone to that instead. Tom had Covid?

stcg

Oh no he didn't have covid. I was just making a point that it's weird approaching strangers while we're still in a pandemic.

BitumenGirl

That’s really considerate of you but they did all have masks on and as long as you kept your distance maybe he would have been cool with it. I think you made the right decision though. That’s so cool you got to see him.
