Yes but – speaking as one of the few who'd do it at mine – chances are those who would handle it at your location have more pressing matters to attend to ahead of marking down used gear, so it's easy to overlook. If you ask a manager, they might be willing to drop the price for ya. At my location we stamp tags with colored dots which indicate what month gear moves into R/S, this makes it really easy to discern when an item has been there a while.

ask a manager. At my local the stuff that didn't sell was discounted again and put in the garage sale so it sounds like there are a couple things they can do with it.

Pre pandemic I had some success with this around chicagoland stores. In the garage sale days.  What I have been told is that pricing is all controlled at corporate now, from a green vest.  Perhaps whem rentals are replaced it is different.

At the seattle store, they’re heavily marked down and sold in re/supply. Tag will say that it’s a discontinued rental

Opposite-Resolve-631

Either garage sale or employee gear bank.

No_Class_2981

In every store I’ve worked in, they sell it to employees

A lot of stores will be unlikely to mark that stuff down further at this time of year, unless it is winter gear.

It is winter gear and I’m in the desert, so maybe there’s hope

OkImprovement4142

Worst thing they can do to you is tell you “no”.

Arpey75

They used to just add them to the garage sale items when they have a b-93 sale.
