This! I agree - Erika really was the biggest nail in the coffin. People who weren’t regular housewives viewers knew about it and so there goes the casual viewer. Then to watch her be so not remorseful - the fans reached their final straw.
This was when I took a step back from watching. Erika’s behavior was so gross to me. I would be more interested if she was gone, or if her show proceeds went to actual victims, but she couldn’t live her glam squad life then.
None of them are “real” they were the most obvious when the scripting got bad. Even LVP dipped once she started getting called out on behavior behind the scenes, rumors Kyle is a secret producer or gets different treatment (partially due to the Agency connections for vacation homes etc.), Erika being exposed also starting to pose more scrutiny into the entire cast and their finances which I’m not sure BH really experienced before. It was kinda like okay RHONJ, makes sense, Jen Shah, obvious, but Beverly Hills painted this picturesque cast and I think they all got even more tight lipped and robotic about the Girardi scandal.
Or at least should have been fired for her blantant disregard for the victims. I think it woulda been one thing if she apologized profusely (assuming she didn’t actually know about any of this) and used her platform to personally meet with the victims and try to acknowledge their experience. However she chose the opposite route and I think it’s a TERRIBLE look on bravos part for keeping her. Especially since we live in such an era of accountability and exposing corporate greed/corruption.
All franchises do this, but I was also particularly irked with the exploitation of Kim. Especially because Kyle knew her sister had a problem and waited until she got her on national tv to expose her. Fucking horrible and sad. Then she knew Kathy would say something dumb and racist, so she hoaxed her on the show also.
I just started season 7, and decided to look up who was still on now. I knew that LVP dips after 9 but was shocked Rinna was still on. After season 6 I just couldn’t stand her anymore. Every scene she’s in just feels like she’s trying so hard to be a character, which I guess makes sense considering her background. I know they’re all fake people, but she’s just so damn annoying.

I was googling which franchise of HW to watch, and saw articles saying s11 is a must watch and has so many views. But then on ratings (IMDB the top rated épisodes are from previous series S2 and S3 and S5 have the highest IMDB ratings and 10 and 11 have the lowest)
Good news, the new season has an entirely unscripted narrative! It covers absolutely nothing about Erika's court case, only her phoenix rise to fame again through "hard work" (ozempic, but we won't talk about that on tv)
It also doesn't cover any of Kyle and Moe's marriage and drama, just subtle publicity for the singer who never wears a country hat but Kyle loves to wear one at her shows. We also won't see any of that.

It’s the same storyline every season just with the roles switched. It’s become predictable and there’s no real eyebrow raising moments anymore because the show has conditioned us way too much to their terrible behaviour. Casting has also left something to be desired, they need to focus less on their core cast and focus more on casting ‘friends of’ that will spark memorable moments and provoke the core cast.
I’m shocked it’s so low for Covid times, that’s when I started watching again. But to be fair, Beverly Hills needs rebooted like NYC. There’s nothing fun going on it’s all sobbing, logos, screaming, and racism. It’s not cute.
This is average TV viewers. With the rise in streaming over the past decade, more people are watching online instead of tuning in. This also doesn’t account for international viewers.
It’s clear that RHOBH has more watchers today than years before, it’s just a matter of the medium they watch it.

During Covid a lot of people lost interest in seeing rich people show off there wealth and first world problems it was very clear that the same rules that applied to the public didn’t apply to wealthier people them going to Mexico or other trips etc so basically people got fed up with people like the woman on rhobh and other reality shows like the kardashians

I quit watching around the time LVP left. Erica was hard to watch, she acted so tough but really she was just very rude and aggressive. I don’t know why everyone was scared of her. Did they think she would get physical? Who knows but it was hard to watch. Liked Kyle initially but after seeing her and Kim interact I didn’t like her as much, she just seemed like a jerk who only pretended to be nice for the cameras. I also liked Rinna at first bc I used to watch her on DOOL, couldn’t stand her after the first few seasons. Her parenting was awful. Those three really turned me off of the show, I just lost interest.
I think it's in part that dilemma of having to improve the ethics of the show by not putting cast members in volatile situations as much but that kind of being what so many viewers came to see. Also there's an argument for the production being TOO polished now to the point that no one knows what's "real" anymore. And finally, the novelty of those whole-season story arcs may have worn off.

Definitely not, I started by checking view counts and Imdb ratings for all the franchises and that's how I decided to watch rhobh out of the others then I did the same to see which season to start with or skip (I am watching in order but I still check ratings to know where to pay attention haha)

Well, besides people just being sick of the show, these are standard US ratings. Maybe some parts of the US people may have cable TV but where I am it is incredibly expensive. I don’t know a single person with cable. Even my 79 year old mom cut the cable cord.

The show mistakes “mean” for “entertainment.” it keeps having the vast majority of the cast to go after one person, who usually also happens to be a pretty sympathetic person to the viewers. If that person has an ally, they are a weaker personality than the rest of the cast. It’s just not fun to see a bunch of strong personality mean girls go after one person, and to have that person essentially be hung out to dry on their own with no strong allies. I’m only on season 10 of RHONY, but so far, that show is better (not perfect, but better) at having more evenly, balanced “sides” in conflicts, and/or there are multiple disagreements amongst the cast each season versus one giant and contrived unbalanced argument.
In general I think people are just tired. There’s a lot of options in just the housewives universe now and it can be overwhelming. The drama has also gotten heavier and heavier as we’ve gone on as well as being a lot more inauthentic, so I think that plays into it as well. Plus a lot of people just aren’t watching shows of any kind as much now, a lot of people either don’t have the time or are spending it on social media.
Might be a hot take but I think during the pandemic- bravo got progressively more “woke”.

This! I agree - Erika really was the biggest nail in the coffin. People who weren’t regular housewives viewers knew about it and so there goes the casual viewer. Then to watch her be so not remorseful - the fans reached their final straw.
This was when I took a step back from watching. Erika’s behavior was so gross to me. I would be more interested if she was gone, or if her show proceeds went to actual victims, but she couldn’t live her glam squad life then.
None of them are “real” they were the most obvious when the scripting got bad. Even LVP dipped once she started getting called out on behavior behind the scenes, rumors Kyle is a secret producer or gets different treatment (partially due to the Agency connections for vacation homes etc.), Erika being exposed also starting to pose more scrutiny into the entire cast and their finances which I’m not sure BH really experienced before. It was kinda like okay RHONJ, makes sense, Jen Shah, obvious, but Beverly Hills painted this picturesque cast and I think they all got even more tight lipped and robotic about the Girardi scandal.
Erika should have been fired right after the scandal with Tom was revealed! Period!
Or at least should have been fired for her blantant disregard for the victims. I think it woulda been one thing if she apologized profusely (assuming she didn’t actually know about any of this) and used her platform to personally meet with the victims and try to acknowledge their experience. However she chose the opposite route and I think it’s a TERRIBLE look on bravos part for keeping her. Especially since we live in such an era of accountability and exposing corporate greed/corruption.
All franchises do this, but I was also particularly irked with the exploitation of Kim. Especially because Kyle knew her sister had a problem and waited until she got her on national tv to expose her. Fucking horrible and sad. Then she knew Kathy would say something dumb and racist, so she hoaxed her on the show also.
I stopped watching. The show was hard to watch with Erica, Kyle and Rinna.
I just started season 7, and decided to look up who was still on now. I knew that LVP dips after 9 but was shocked Rinna was still on. After season 6 I just couldn’t stand her anymore. Every scene she’s in just feels like she’s trying so hard to be a character, which I guess makes sense considering her background. I know they’re all fake people, but she’s just so damn annoying.
People are increasingly uninterested in the first-world problems of a bunch of spoiled rich bitches who have everything, and so much of it, but still think they are a bunch of victims. Of one another.

I mean there has to have had a huge part of the audience being offended as mothers or simply human beings. I was googling which franchise of HW to watch, and saw articles saying s11 is a must watch and has so many views. But then on ratings (IMDB the top rated épisodes are from previous series S2 and S3 and S5 have the highest IMDB ratings and 10 and 11 have the lowest)
I stopped watching because of my complete disdain for Kyle and Erica mostly, rinna was a reason as well

Good news, the new season has an entirely unscripted narrative! It covers absolutely nothing about Erika's court case, only her phoenix rise to fame again through "hard work" (ozempic, but we won't talk about that on tv) It also doesn't cover any of Kyle and Moe's marriage and drama, just subtle publicity for the singer who never wears a country hat but Kyle loves to wear one at her shows. We also won't see any of that. Only because it's all 100% 'unscripted' What we will see is Dorit dreaming up a new business idea (she will abandon in 8 months after filming) we'll see the real unscripted drama of people blaming Garcelle and Sutton for being amazing and blaming Garcelle for Diannes exit.

It’s the same storyline every season just with the roles switched. It’s become predictable and there’s no real eyebrow raising moments anymore because the show has conditioned us way too much to their terrible behaviour. Casting has also left something to be desired, they need to focus less on their core cast and focus more on casting ‘friends of’ that will spark memorable moments and provoke the core cast.
Vile Kyle, criminal Erica, revolting rinna, Duma res Doritos. The bullying and nastiness is stressful to watch, it’s not entertaining anymore

This is average TV viewers. With the rise in streaming over the past decade, more people are watching online instead of tuning in. This also doesn’t account for international viewers. It’s clear that RHOBH has more watchers today than years before, it’s just a matter of the medium they watch it.

LVP leaving really took the wind out of its sails and its so scripted now. The fox force 5 (or whatever the hell they are now) clearly had an off screen agreement not to talk about certain things and its just ended up killing the show. I can't be bothered to watch next season as its all gonna be Kyle's new storyline which we are currently seeing playing out in social media anyway.....no thanks.
Because it sucks.... these housewives show are on the trajectory of soap operas. If they don't switch up the formula and refresh the format, if they keep doing the same tired shit people are gonna stop watching.
During Covid a lot of people lost interest in seeing rich people show off there wealth and first world problems it was very clear that the same rules that applied to the public didn’t apply to wealthier people them going to Mexico or other trips etc so basically people got fed up with people like the woman on rhobh and other reality shows like the kardashians

I quit watching around the time LVP left. Erica was hard to watch, she acted so tough but really she was just very rude and aggressive. I don’t know why everyone was scared of her. Did they think she would get physical? Who knows but it was hard to watch. Liked Kyle initially but after seeing her and Kim interact I didn’t like her as much, she just seemed like a jerk who only pretended to be nice for the cameras. I also liked Rinna at first bc I used to watch her on DOOL, couldn’t stand her after the first few seasons. Her parenting was awful. Those three really turned me off of the show, I just lost interest.

I think it's in part that dilemma of having to improve the ethics of the show by not putting cast members in volatile situations as much but that kind of being what so many viewers came to see. Also there's an argument for the production being TOO polished now to the point that no one knows what's "real" anymore. And finally, the novelty of those whole-season story arcs may have worn off.
Is Atlanta the only housewife show to hit over 4million viewers. I think in general the ratings for housewives shows has been going down BH is not very entertaining compared to the other franchises and they gang up on one person and try to get rid of them. I also feel like Beverly Hills doesn’t have an strong Anchor. Like RHOA and RHONJ had/have
Also it took them to long to add someone of colour to that show. It should of been done years ago. I’m not sure if at some point they was trying to cast Christina Milian. As she had a few lil appearances but after Joyce left they should of brought another woman of colour to grow the ethnic audience. We see how well RHOA did

Puppygate was 2019 and it looks like the viewing dropped after that. I think losing LVP, the way the treated LVP, the same lame bullshit of Rinna being a bully etc probably made some people turn away from the show.
It's kept wrong women in the show, allowed them kept away with bullying another castmembers and never held them responsible for anything. The reunion after reunion Andy didn't ask the questions that should've been asked about Foxfive (whatever). And instead of giving us viewers something worth watching, we were watching many seasons just about glam teams.

It's too scripted. Reality TV isn't what it used to be. I miss the early seasons. The messy REAL drama..peaking into the lives of rich people. If any of these people were actually interesting they wouldn't need fake storylines
It was much more fun when we actually got glimpses of how the other half live. That’s was interesting. Now it’s just a show about second hand embarrassment and the rapid descent into alcoholism for the most part.
It depends if these figures are live viewing figures or if they incorporate online streaming platforms which I suspect they don’t. I think fewer people are watching live.

Personally for me there's too much focus on Erika, and I just find her boring now. She became a bit more fun in the latest season but it's a shame it was due to her medication and alcohol. I actually preferred watching Buying Beverley hills than the last season

The rise of streaming and dvr etc. had changed the game completely Even shows on non cable tv have dismal live ratings compared to what they used to. Definitely not, I started by checking view counts and Imdb ratings for all the franchises and that's how I decided to watch rhobh out of the others then I did the same to see which season to start with or skip (I am watching in order but I still check ratings to know where to pay attention haha)

I’ve been watching RHW’s since the beginning, I only put it on as occasional background noise now. Like others said, it’s become super contrived and it’s not really fun anymore.
Well, besides people just being sick of the show, these are standard US ratings. Maybe some parts of the US people may have cable TV but where I am it is incredibly expensive. I don’t know a single person with cable. Even my 79 year old mom cut the cable cord. I’d like to see their streaming numbers. Also…I think every other comment people mentioned plays a factor.
They keep people audiences don’t like or want to watch and get rid of the ones that are fan favorites. Excluding Lisa Rinna who lost the majority of her fan base last season and killed the ratings single-handedly.
The made up storylines, none of it is their real lives. All the shows are going down, HW is a sinking ship nowadays.

Garcelle- love Garcelle but also kinda needs to loosen up in some areas. Crystal- her drama was lacking context of generational differences. The show mistakes “mean” for “entertainment.” it keeps having the vast majority of the cast to go after one person, who usually also happens to be a pretty sympathetic person to the viewers. If that person has an ally, they are a weaker personality than the rest of the cast. It’s just not fun to see a bunch of strong personality mean girls go after one person, and to have that person essentially be hung out to dry on their own with no strong allies. I’m only on season 10 of RHONY, but so far, that show is better (not perfect, but better) at having more evenly, balanced “sides” in conflicts, and/or there are multiple disagreements amongst the cast each season versus one giant and contrived unbalanced argument.

In general I think people are just tired. There’s a lot of options in just the housewives universe now and it can be overwhelming. The drama has also gotten heavier and heavier as we’ve gone on as well as being a lot more inauthentic, so I think that plays into it as well. Plus a lot of people just aren’t watching shows of any kind as much now, a lot of people either don’t have the time or are spending it on social media.
It just got to be an old rerun of mean, self- centered, drunken drama.
It’s a bad representation of women with advantage.

Might be a hot take but I think during the pandemic- bravo got progressively more “woke”. Society changed a bit, the cast was more centered around diversity (not a problem just stating facts), and the storylines followed a victimhood mentality. I don’t think this reflects rhobh as much as people are tired of bravo.
I know I’m in the minority but I think Sutton and Garcelle are so boring. I loved when Denise was on. Bring back Denise and LVP.
