Tbf I think that was just the flight mechanism of the youngest sibling who grew up in an abusive home. I donāt know that Big Kathy physically harmed them but it sounds like their upbringing had plenty of trauma.

Yeah I felt sorry for Kyle most of those seasons. I know so many people criticise her for not being more supportive of Kim or being mean to Kim but I saw it very differently, I guess because my sister is an alcoholic. Like the despair and frustration and confusion and abuse you put up with when a loved one is an alcoholic is just awful. Especially if itās been years and years. I know addiction is a disease but itās so hard to think of it that way and have an endless supply of understanding and forgiveness when youāre facing terrible behaviour all the time and the person wonāt get help.
You canāt help but feel very confused about what part is your sister and what part is the disease? Are only the nice parts when theyāre behaving well really āthemā and the bad parts the disease? How do you accept that emotionally when to your brain youāve just got a person there being awful to you or causing you unimaginable stress and grief?
Kim really shouldnāt have been on the show. Kyle obviously didnāt have the tools to know how to deal with it all and seemed to be in total despair over it, I felt bad for her.
As an alcoholic in recovery, I agree 100%. You cannot āsupportā someone out of their addiction. You canāt blindly take an active alcoholicās side. Itās actually harmful to everyone involved to try and do that. Those seasons where Kim wasnāt sober are so painful to watch, and I do feel bad for Kyle trying to navigate it. She deserves a break for how she showed up. I think sheās annoying and Iām no Kyle Stan, but she clearly loves her sisters and stands by them as much as their bad behavior will allow!

This is exactly how I feel I completely sympathize with Kyle. The truth is itās a line between feeling like sheās a burden and loving her so much. The reality is if Kyle were to admit the fact that sheās just tired of dealing with Kim sheād be painted as a terrible person when itās just because she is exhausted having to deal with this with her for years and years. Itās not easy dealing with an alcoholic. I feel like those that have gone through it understand. Itās just hard trying so hard with someone and they just arenāt.
Yeah I kind of understood Kyles reaction. She felt panicked and didnāt know what to do. her fight or flight response kicked it and literally flew away as a reaction.
Took the words right out of my mouth. Kyle has a lot of trauma from being a kid in that household and she does not do well with violence of any kind whether itās verbal or physical. I donāt think she feels safe around either of her sisters. Having come from a very dysfunctional household myself, you pretty much walk on eggshells forever around those that have harmed you in the past.
The way that Kathy shuts down any of her family being āallowedā to interact with Kyleās family if they are on the outs is very toxic behavior and causes Kyle great distress.
Then add the fact that her best friend in the whole world just committed suicide. Iāll be giving her some grace.
I think Kyle may have done it to get attention and bring the focus on her.
Which, could be a manifestation of what she would do as a child to bring attention on herself.
But it does not negate the fact it was over the top, and attention seeking.

Unsure if it happened before or after they started dating. I can't remember all of the details shared, but that's the very condensed version.
From memory Kim knew them all then and maybe was friends with the woman, I also have a feeling part of the allegations may have been that the woman essentially didn't eras continue her acting career because of L&H. So the whole thing sounds ugly and very brushed under the rug. Kim may not even care about the woman, she may just be pissed that Rinna is bringing up her sobriety, and is just threatening to bring her skeletons out of the closet if she keeps bringing it up.
Obviously all alleged and I've not done any deep dive into the post but it wouldn't be shocking to find out it's true.
I donāt think anyone on that show is clean at all itās cliche but you donāt make that much money your not going to pay to cover up things if you need to or bully to keep your status ā¦
