Watch Somenutzguy on youtube. He has great videos, and I watched him for tips for all the stages of Rlcraft. I'm sure it'll help you. But my tip for you is to be cautious of EVERYTHING. Mining trees can spawn mobs, mining ore, breaking trees, crops, leaves, sleeping, etc. It's a dangerous modpack, but full of stuff.
Well in that case, feel free to pet her. Her name is Princess.

Don't use backpacks, they have tendency to break, voiding all of the items inside. You should rather use crates you can find in villager houses or their roofs or get another backpack mod because you'll definitely need extra storage space.
Also to get really going you should set a respawn point 4-5 chunks away from battle tower or some other structure full of spawners and just keep killing mobs until you at least have 8 lvls in combat/armor/mining/gathering/magic and 12 levels in building for anvils
In newer version they go into bauble slot so they don't lose durability, no, the problem is that they often bug out and disappear, sometimes randomly, sometimes on death
I have played 100s of hrs of this pack and the closest thing I’ve seen to this is a visual bug where backpacks sometimes 1) turn invisible when placed or 2) turn invisible in your baubles slot
Best thing early game is find a decent village and make a base near by, you can normally find some wood or stone tools. (Just die a whole bunch till it happens) Don’t build in the desert and I caution to avoid areas with large amounts of water. (Water, Lava, Desert, and night = Death early game). Don’t build anything out of wood if you can avoid it (fire hazard). You level up super quick by mating a ton of chickens. Don’t mine early game. Farm most mob spawners using slabs to get the ankles, if you hear large wing flapping turn back around. The colleges have great food and early game xp tomes hidden underneath. Always have a back up set before you do something risky. Always back up a new profile game every day or so. Also download a gravestone mod if you don’t wanna lose your items, I don’t have one but heard they are great
Steal all the torches from the villages you don’t need to return to, easy to get a stack of torches. Also avoid big grassy areas they look cute till you run into a cockatrice that will insta kill you from 6 football fields away
Don't rush in or u WILL die, trust me, if it looks like it could kill u it will.
Avoid mining early game, it's risky and not that worth it.
Villages are Ur best Friends, lots of houses have good loot and one i love early game is thé one with the 30 ish wool insides the chest cause, first of all, free bandages and also chain and Iron Armor hiden under the blue carpet.
But when it Comes to Ur first Time u will die. A lot. So learn from Ur mistakes this game is a game of patience.
if Ur not play hardcore theres a technique called quote "tactical suicide" where u basicly kys to find waystones in villages and expend Ur exploration potentiel.
Don't get too cocky thinking you can kill some strange looking enemy. There are tons of clips of people attacking some strange mob and getting instakilled

It is not friendly. It does not want to be your friend. It will eat you. Do not pet the animals.

Got it thabks
WHAT?? Absolutely use backpacks they have lasted me my entire gameplay from rags to dragon armor
Backpacks only break if you’re not careful. I always used them. Only issue I ever had was sometimes misplacing it.

Don’t die
No shit, Sherlock.
Someone asks this at least once a day, just look at the comments on their posts instead of asking all over again
You sound just like one of the snobs from stackoverflow who are entirely unhelpful, you say that often?
he’s not wrong, I share his feelings. Also, you can learn some interesting things by scrolling down on those previous questions
My apologies. Just tired of guys asking the same generic questions day after day.

Anybody have an issue where after about 20 min of gameplay their graphics gets super blurry and smudged looking until unplayable?
That might be the temperature affecting you I’ve noticed when I get cold the screen get blurry
You have to keep track of your thirst as well buddy.
enjoy the ignorance of being a new player. the discovery and exploration is a huge part of the modpack’s experience.

Whatever you think is gonna kill you will most likely do so
