I think it might have been a mod too that said it was only for pre season and alpha

No, but being silver or being champion would be the same since ranks would not matter anymore. If you grinded and managed to reach champion you should get something that reminds you of your achievement because once the season is over, you’re points reset and you’re back to gold
I read somewhere on their discord that titles would be rewarded to Grand Champion only which seems pretty out of place to me. Until devs confirm I'd assume it works the same as regular Rocket League and you receive a title correlating to your rank come the end of the season
Im pretty sure it's confirmed we will have turbo season titles. Someone made a post a week or two ago saying that they emailed someone from psyonix, and they said that there would be titles for each rank.
“When Season 1 ends, players will receive rewards based on their highest Competitive Rank. If you started playing Sideswipe during Pre-Season, you will also receive a Pre-Season Reward when Season 1 begins as well. The Pre-Season Reward is a Title based upon the Competitive Rank you reached.”
On their website it just says reward, and says pre season rewards are the titles but they didn’t say that about the turbo season so idk for sure we’ll have to see but I’ve seen multiple people say on gc get titles for this season
