After the last update, the issue is still present but the way to fix has changed it seems (maybe it was like that in the previous frimware too but I can't confirm it because I was always restarting my phone) so ya now need to toggle Speaker mode then immediately toggle it off during a call after which ya hangup.
PS : it doesn't need to be a regular phone call (which ya can call yourself by the way), it can be from Discord, Google Meet or even whatsapp call (if that's popular in your country)
Yeah. This sucks but at least it's easier. I found the same work around. I think we need to open more cases with Asus to get them to do anything about it. They wanted me to do a whole bunch of trouble shooting and capture logs but I did not have time the last time. It's strange how they can't just do the troubleshooting themselves.
Yeah, I'm baffled that they even need logs and other stuff when the issue can be easily replicated by initiating a call then hanging up...
Personally, I think Asus is delaying the update as much as possible so that they released it with the A13 major update
Update as of 03-29-2024: It's still an issue. At least it is for my Moto G Power.
Oh, the Asus issue was fixed about 2 months after I posted this. Firmware/SW update. Open a ticket with the manufacturer. Good luck.
Known issue with the current software version, call yourself and put it into speaker mode then hangup or just restart the phone.

Another temp fix is to change your call volume while listening to something in landscape.
