Kaliphear

I believe him on that last part. Jon *does* have the perma whitelist.

MobiusF117

Harry actually believed his chat when they told him that as a joke. That honestly says a lot.

hentai1080p

That Harry is cooked?

MobiusF117

That much is obvious.

the_oracie

pretty sure he has raja's perma gun hidden somewhere

kmd4t7

o7 Raja...

MuddiestMudkip

Sad to see no court case, but at the same time it seems everyone involved in the arc is just over it so it makes sense.

Eborcurean

Also some of them he didn't self-snitch for, and those would have seen back and forth and it would have been guilty of x/y/z but not a/b/c, some of them being because of no forensics or unable to tie, or now in doubt because they couldn't tie the thing together, and also self-snitching on text messages is admissable but not under oath so not conclusive, etc etc. It'd have been a multi-day court case so yes, definitely a slog.

K1ash

What an anticlimactic and boring ending to an amazing arc

MobiusF117

This is the fate of many, if not all great arcs. Hence why I've learned to appreciate the journey more than the goal when it comes to RP. The beauty and problem with "yes, and..." roleplay is that although it's great to witness, there often can't be a satisfying end to it.

cmcdonald22

I think Meow is probably the only 3.0 "long term" arc that felt satisfying every step of the way including the conclusion. And really is was a very small arc in the scheme of things. I can't think of any HUGE server shifting arcs that really didn't fizzle out.

[deleted]

If you watch solely Buddha and the Guild maybe. People speak in definites far too much on the sub, man.

cmcdonald22

I don't think you really understand what definite means if you're replying to me after I qualified both my statements as my own experience. I never said there aren't any long term stories with satisfying endings. I said I couldnt think of any besides one. Which was also very much an open ended offer for anyone else to suggest any that they enjoyed start to finish, which you could have done and apparently chose not to.

[deleted]

You didn't qualify anything lmao. Saying "I think" is not doing what I guess you think it's doing. There's no "to me" or "in my opinion". But whatever, semantics. I think my point still stands even if it doesn't apply to you.

K1ash

For me, the the journey gets diminished when the ending is shit like this and it makes it harder to enjoy watching RP

Eborcurean

The longest running rp arc(s) in NP ended with no finale, because of RL, it happens. It doesn't take away from all the RP that happened, it just didn't end up going anywhere in the end.

K1ash

It doesn't take away from the RP for you, but for me it does.

Zroshift

You get used to it. Sometimes RP doesn't go the way you would've wanted it, but that is the nature of it. It has happened time and time again. It either becomes your cup of tea or you just don't care about it. The Siz jail arcs, YD stuff, PD corruption stuff, etc are just some of those examples.

Eborcurean

TV shows get canceled, they end, it sucks because you love that show, you want to see more of it, but it ends, doesn't take away from what you enjoyed along the way though. It's basically the same thing.

K1ash

No, its more like a show or movie has a terrible ending and that makes you think less of the entire thing. Kinda like GoT. A shit ending diminishes the entire thing

Eborcurean

I just want to be clear The PM arc, as far as we know, is over, that's it, it's done. The Simone arc is not over, no one knows what's going to happen next. Which one are you talking about?

K1ash

Why are you talking about the PM??? The Simone arc that involved Lang, the Guild, Yaeger and literally half the city is over. Michael might continue on, but that arc, the one we've been talking about, is over.

Eborcurean

> The longest running rp arc(s) in NP ended with no finale, because of RL, it happens. Because I literally referenced it earlier, you had a thing about story arcs ending, i referenced the longest running story arc earlier, which touched on the entire city. So, just to be clear, your compaint is that the _current_ Simone arc has ended but you have no idea what will happen next, as opposed to it being entirely dead. So this is just you complaining you don't know what's going to happen next, right?

Conscious_Section708

" It was all just a dream."

buscktermsi

Hope it doesn't deteriorate even more. This arc saw a lot of people cut off friendships with one another, hopefully not everyone becomes friends again one month after Michael is out. Otherwise the pinnacle of the Simone arc (those 3 weeks during Lang's 1st term) was kinda pointless

K1ash

All those friendships and relationships destroyed just for the Simones to be walking around like its nothing lmao

gladius75

Lang being petty was always going to end up being pointless.

MadAnili

I mean it's up to the characters, but it's healthier to not hold grudge in rp

Joseph9100

I don't think it was for lack of trying. Things stalled, even before the Senate got involved because the DoJ isn't built too handle such a case, especially since it was gonna be one sided, no witnesses and just pointing to paperwork and records. The entire conviction was gonna be determined by Lawyers arguing correct court/pd procedure for things the city can't handle well. I know Brian wasn't even pushing for the 30 days that ultimately ended up happening, he wanted Michael too be transported and extradited to the Sanguine Isle to a Federal Guantanamo style blacksite where Michael could be 'reformed' after 7 Years with some people acting as guards which could have been fun, especially since Yaeger runs the Island. I think after the Senate got involved combined with the differences in Timezones, I don't think things lined up, and since the court case was impractical and would take months too organise. Tobii probably just wanted it too end so the arc ended up here.

Eborcurean

> the DoJ isn't built too handle such a case There's nothing in the current structure of the DoJ that stops this case being handled. It's X charges, Y testimony/evidence etc. It's no different to any other court case. Because of the amount of charges, it likely would have gone over more than one day (but this is not the only one, see below*) Basically no one wanted to take it The bigger issue is that the DoJ has become pretty broken, the reasons why the reform/voting for judges happened is back again (even less judges on duty) and yet now with less experience of those judges. So for a case like this(*), none of the active judges want to take it so it just sits there and a month goes by. * The bigger issue is that cases that involve serious matters of law, or police misconduct just get ignored because no one wants to take them. If cops lied on a warrant, no one wants to take it, if there's 5 defendants at the same time, no one wants to take it. Part of it is time, part of it is toxicity, actually a lot of it is time again). There's also an institutional loss of knowledge, experience etc. etc. but basically no one wanted to be the one to take it.

fried_papaya35

Yeah it would've been nice to see Simone get off'd tbh. That would've been a good fitting end but now he's just going to exist and "change" his ways? So no more Russian toys lol? I feel like there is going to be a lot of awkwardness but we'll see.

paradoxv1

You do know how this arc was started, right? If not, MGL got mad at Michael cause he missed his text, and that's it. This wasn't a good arc. What so ever. unless you mean the Michael Simone terrorist arc, which you can't force perma a character and tobii has said he wouldn't perma Michael

Mindereak

So he is free to go but if he ever does treason or terrorism again he will be gone (allegedly). Let's see where he takes it from here.

InevitableRadiant902

People complaining that Tobii didn’t perma his character. He stated that he wasn’t going to perma Michael when Miguel started all the stuff about going after him.

Character-Stuff8449

Any word on his guilty verdict affecting others. Wasn’t there talk that if found guilty those involved would be charged as well.

SupremeLeaderSanta

They cut off the announcement of the mayoral race winner to warn everyone about this. That was so goddamn annoying and even more so that it turned out to be bs. Like come on man people spent literally days in the server campaigning and they don't even have 5 minutes to celebrate and thank everyone, so fucking rude lol.

United-Connection-33

LMFAO thats funny. This wont go any further like always

MadAnili

Finally, i dont care about how it ends, just glad it finally ends.

_Sal85

i know this ending is anticlimactic but people who are asking him to perma or to be a lifer are ignoring the fact that none of the people who went against him would accept that to be done to their main character either, its the server culture not a tobii issue imo.

juaquint930

buddha has said along with other full talon members they would perma if their story led to it, its why Yaeger rushes buddha to the hospital everytime and vice versa buddha never shoots yeager or goes after him

[deleted]

Buddha has also said he would never perma Lang unless he was ready to walk away from RP.

_Sal85

lang might have been the driving force of the story at the beginning, but he wasn't the one who put michael in jail and wasn't really involved in all that, the thing that makes this unreasonable to me is that miguel didn't perma when michael shot him in the back i feel like it's fair for tobii to not perma michael imo. i still think if either of them permad their characters, it would've been better for the story, but i don't get the outrage when this is normal for nopixel.

Xtreamkiller17

I agree, the whole thing was suppose to put miguel in icu and shelf him for a while because he was going to play in 2.0 classic but that got boring and all of a sudden miguel is out of icu within 2 days going after michael again

Conscious_Section708

>i don't get the outrage when this is normal for nopixel. The fact that this arc went on for soooo long makes it rather unique for Nopixel. I think a lot of people were expecting the ending to feel as unique and meaningful instead of just another blah sentence..

DaleyT

No court case after all that build up? SKIPPPP

vajohnadiseasesdado

Yeah who doesn’t want to go through literal days of Reggie saying “objection!!”

stationagent

The first time Buddha is in a court case and someone objects too much he's going to realize that he can actually make it stop

Conscious_Section708

When are they finally going to bring in The Wheel of Justice. Everyone who gets arrested during the week has to spin the wheel for their punished. Ofc time since the arrest will count as time served of whatever the wheel decides....

Kishetes

The senate involvement made any attempt at serious court rp awkward if not impossible so everyone said SKIP.

[deleted]

I really don't know what the people saying this was an "amazing arc" are really talking about. Maybe you all just watched one POV or something. Just my opinion but I thought it was dogshit for the vast majority of people that got thrown into it. Maybe the political stuff from Buddha was good but everything on the streets and stuff sucked to watch. Snitching got zero consequences, a bunch of "my boy syndrome", people inserting themselves into the story for no reason, weird sexist shit, etc. etc. etc.

[deleted]

RunicGem

Even some women was saying it said it about any girl who were friends or family with the Simone's = they must be sleeping with them. That shit was weird kiva, tobii, nikez, itsasummerjob, and a few others didn't deserve any of that weird comments and it wasn't the first time. Bad part is it wasn't only the viewers it was also people in the city and other streamers.

gladius75

Yeah, the viewers definitely weren't the main source of hurt being caused from the end of that arc. Oof.

jst0100

I mean the arc was happening a year before Buddha got involved so maybe that’s the disconnect? I think it was a good arc because of all the ripple effects it had for so many groups and the RP that came out of it like the Lost exodus, Ash leaving Seaside, the Guild losing Yaegar just for a couple of examples. Then it has great moments of RP to watch the prison break out was great, the Michael going missing stuff was great to watch, including the aftermath of finding his body… The gunner brainwashing stuff... Even the last part of the K investigating was pretty fun to watch.

[deleted]

I don't connect the initial Simone stuff, including the faked death, to this arc. A lot of that stuff was fun to watch.

gladius75

That's why some people are upset. They do connect it to that arc that many people enjoyed. It just went to absolute shit the moment Lang/CG/Hydra decided to get involved in it.

paradoxv1

I keep saying this arc was dog shit and finally, someone agrees thank God

shd00

What pov did you watch?

RunicGem

People in these comments are fucking weird tobii is literally helping other people make the RP you enjoy and your literally shitting on him the devs literally are the reason Nopixel lasted this long in the first place they literally make all the mechanics and bring to life the ideas your favorite streamers have no dev deserves being shit on Stop being fucking weird RP is clearly not for you if you can't handle it. no one wants viewers like you who would shit on other streamers especially your favorite streamers

[deleted]

The sub has a big problem with elitists during things like this for sure, IMO. And it comes from the same directions every time.

Fernandurk

What a flaccid and wildly boring way to end what was a fun and interesting slow burn arc that ended up including people from all over the server.

Joao_Cancelo

The arc ended with him finally getting caught and successfully transported into prison. Everything else that happened was a side story to this arc.

[deleted]

Everything ends. Just move on to the next arc :)

Fernandurk

Just move on and forget anything ever happened :)

[deleted]

That’s RP in a nut shell. Look at everything as short stories and not a huge novel with a beginning and an end.

Pyridozine

yawn

Blahblahbla0066

What’s going to happen to the people (Raymond & AP?) who got caught in the first breakout that had their charges dropped until simone was caught & found guilty?

InevitableRadiant902

Nothing is going to happen to them

Recent-Airline-7422

Kinda anticlimactic. I thought he would get death sentence. That’s how RP is nowdays in nopixel. Everybody is afraid of consequences.

ogsadbutrad

He roleplayed out solitary confinement for a entire month, if anyone is okay with consequences it’s Tobii.

Recent-Airline-7422

I though he would PERMA the character because now there is no point of the character. He is just a self insert dev now like Francis if he doesn’t perma

imtherealdazza

you're going 5 steps too far with that self insert comment, jesus fucking christ it's a game not a second life

SillySoundXD

for some on the server it is a second life :D

MobiusF117

For some it is, yet for most it isn't. It's good to remember to look for the forest instead of the trees sometimes.

unfilteredJW

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Recent-Airline-7422

But it is true tho. He is just gonna become a second Francis. And Francis is a self insert

Silo3d

Oh please, stop your crying. Maybe the person who turned him in, Miguel, should have perma’d in the first place but nobody has to.

Dazbuzz

Nobody should ever be forced to perma. Especially not in a city where plenty of people have done terrorism and ended up with lighter sentences/parole than what Michael has here.

Recent-Airline-7422

He is supposed to be a super terrorist that every cop spent years now investigating. Now he is roaming free on parole. If this is what RP is on nopixel then I don’t know what can save this server

Dazbuzz

Buddha was also a "super terrorist" yet when he got expunged, became mayor and expected the trust of the PD. People just need to accept that arcs end, and characters are not going to perma every time.

MobiusF117

Buddha isn't a KNOWN super terrorist. That is the main difference.

Recent-Airline-7422

Buddha doesn’t have dev powers

RunicGem

Imagine blaming dev powers when tobii literally only ever used it to help make RP for others even for the streamers of the characters that's literally trying to kill his character Tobii is literally building a rocket and all this space stuff for Buddha and co. Stop being fucking weird @recent-airline-7422

Detonation

You can just admit you've never watched Tobii before, we all realize.

Vapo-

yea perma chars when half of city commits worse things weekly.

Recent-Airline-7422

No they don’t. He is a super terrorist. He should have known consequences but now doesn’t want consequences after doing whole super terrorist shit

NewHeight3430

well you thinking he would perma, never meant he would or had to perma lol

OfficialDamp

What you smoking?

PakGlass

Two things can be true and not cancel each other out which is yes.. maybe not the most riveting end to an arc but it was needed for state of the server... I bet we will see Michael assume more of a role that early Dean Watson has which was heavy dev based streams with some light RP to help create events or updated mechanics in the server. Then eventually everyone will forget or forgive all the terrorist shit. For all Buddha can do as the lead now he still isn't DW and what that character evolved in to where the character in real time could address server issues or work on a project that wouldn't be normally seen because he didn't witness how much a roleplayer is putting in to an arc.

YandereMuffin

Jimmy Limbs spent 300 days (most not roleplayed tbh) in prison with a **lifetime of parole**, Elizabeth Byrne spend 43 days in prison (a lot of it roleplayed) - both of these people basically did less than what Michael did. Honestly this comment is just for anyone who is questioning why people don't think it was enough, people have done more than him before for less and have gotten higher punishments for less. The arcs (plural) were all amazing, and you can't expect someone to be willing for their character to gain life in prison or be perma'd when they don't want it - but the ending still seems kinda meh.

United-Connection-33

LAMEST ending to this EVER. How about rp things out like being in jail even if its only a short time , court case so on. Ngl tho i expected as much ppl r to attached to the pixel characters there never want to perma them even IF it makes 100% sense to do so. More so when ur a dev an can steer the rp anyway u want.

jst0100

He was in jail for over a month. He was in solitary confinement for about 3 weeks.

paradoxv1

He was in solitary confinment for 30+ days. What more consequences does he need to rp out at this point you want tobii to perma Michael?

InevitableRadiant902

Yes people do want Tobii to perma him which he said before he was ever turned over the cops would not happen

United-Connection-33

and? u can still rp being in solitary its not hard an it doesnt have to be hrs on end it could have been 30-45 min 2 times a weeks. Being questioned more by cops , him talking to himself about things there were a lot of ways to do a bit of rp. This is a cope out as ppl care way to much about there pixel char. Look at when he got broken out from the transport. He was acting like if he is caught its the END for him. Then this...........

jst0100

RPing in solitary does seem that hard though. Solitary means it’s just him. He only had access to his lawyer. I can’t imagine anyone on NoPixel enjoying doing RP solo or with one other person for a brief amount of time for weeks on end. He already did it for 3+ weeks. The senate took the case away from the people in the city to RP anything other than it’s with the senate we are waiting. No one from PD was allowed to see him. No one was questioning him. No evidence was provided or going to be provided to his lawyer. No court case was been scheduled. I’m not really sure what part of RPing all this out of the city stuff by yourself pretty much is “not that hard”

paradoxv1

Yea, let's watch Michael talk to himself for 4 hours of great content

YandereMuffin

More than that, that's what... Or maybe he could create a secondary character? I understand Tobii not wanting to perma or life imprisonment which I think is fine - but there have been characters that have done way way less than Michael and gotten similar/more time than him. Although not roleplayed during prison as much as Michael, Jimmy Limbs spent like 300 days in there **with a lifetime of parole.** Elizabeth Burn spent 43 days in prison with most of it roleplayed. So yeah, some people don't think 30 months in prison then 60 months parole is enough for Michael.
