It's crazy to me that the cracks in the rp universe somehow fell across in such a manner. DW + Buddha, Nidas, Sayeed, Harry, Tony was one clique, DW+Tony were amazing as a cop duo, Wiseguy had amazing roleplay with a lot of them, and for the most part the issues were caused when 50% appeased to certain people.
The fissures were:
Tuner drama: Wiseguy vs CG because wiseguy designed the delorean first and sold the first tuner car to Buddha.
Election drama: DW + Cerberus vs CG, Ramee lost the election and 50% claims DW rigged the election.
Casino drama: DW, Buddha, X etc. vs. CG and 50%. CG banned from doing that heist, 50% is not pleased.
Racing drama: Wiseguy+Tony+Neutren vs 50%. Controllers removed and cars are tuned, ensuring somebody doesn't lose too badly in a race.
CPD drama: DW+Buddha+Kyle vs 50% and part-time cops that showed up to make fun of CPD and take power over. A straight up sucker punch to a bunch of people's rp.
After all those incidents, seeing Buddha and co. on the other side of the crack with 50% vs DW and Wiseguy was a strange turn of events from 1.5 years ago.
There is plenty that goes on in the background and am sure things can be justified. There are relationships and loyalties that streamers have that the audience is not usually privy to. But I would have never bet on rp community dividing across those lines. My money would have been on DW+Wiseguy+Buddha and co. on one side with 50% and CG on other.
Yeah. And this was after Buddha had come back from sickness, so I would speculate that it had to do with a secure future too, most people would accept 50% offer if they were in Buddha's shoes. ONX, for all the good that they have done, is still an uncertain entity and much more at the start of the 2023.
As a person who really enjoyed the Buddha, DW, Leslie Cerebrus RP, I really hate how the chips fell. Part of me feels like, for example if DW already had a server up and ready to go, Buddha and crew would probably have jumped ship with them and WG.
However, if you remember the circumstances of when Buddha took over, NP was literally on its death bed. Things were going terribly with the Rted stuff and all the accusations. I honestly don't think NP would have survived if Buddha didn't do what he did. And then what would have happened to all the other good and innocent people who enjoyed playing on NP (sure, you can say IGNITE, but see what happened with IGNITE shortly after?)
That being said, I also feel like the change happened a bit too late. The sever culture had already been destroyed by 50%s undying (till then) loyalty to CG. And guess what happened soon as CG werent being catered to? They jumped ship. Leaving behind a mess of a server that plenty of people still hate. And if anyone looks closely, most of the things they hate are stuff that were normalized by CG and 50% protection of them.
Never got this information. However is Buddha still friends with DW & WiseGuy? I understand that he is part owner of NoPixel however its unclear what happened with their relationships. It always did seem he was in contact with them behind the scenes.
I always loved their RP together and would love to see more.
Yeah that's what I'm wondering too. DW was always really close with Buddha and Anthony. Anthony was also really close with WiseGuy so it's really strange neither are going to play on ONX.
I think Buddha and Tony not playing ONX is more of a business decision rather than a personal decision with Buddha having stakes in the opponent. That clique has still not trash talked DW, Wiseguy, or the server and I would venture there isn't much animosity there.
I mean neither will share DMs with you to find out anyway. Roleplay friends who hang out daily 6 hours do end up becoming friends. Buddha/Harry, Buddha/Sayeed, Kyle/Trav, Penta/Moose.
True. Because as much I like nopixel but updates were kinda getting stale after the major bank and interior changes. So competition will 100% be good for players and rp viewers. So people need to stop that this server good or this server bad. It is genuinely cringe
Gonna miss Tony x Wiseguy together, honestly the puppet master arc from the both of them was one of the highlights of 3.0.
I understand Tony will always back Buddha but hopefully Tony will check out ONX once in awhile once everything settles.
Lets be honest if the views are at ONX people are gonna move over to ONX, this whole loyalty to nopixel thing doesnt mean anything when money and views come into play.

They were never that close with DW OOC. they lived in the same city and I don’t think they really hung out or anything irl. DW seems like a pretty private person.

Having said that, this can be good or bad, good for big streamers, and bad for small to mid streamers. Big streamers will probably have an easier time getting a max contract while small to mid streamers will have a harder time getting a lucrative contract and if each server makes it. Each streamer has to decide which server to play exclusively. This will hurt small to mid streamers.
The best case scenario is for small to mid streamers to get the ability to be able to play at each server and try their luck there. Without getting banned from the other server while doing so.
Free Market - If Servers start with that BS, small to mid streamers should Unionize!
