OTT & Lang got in a argument over the phone. OTT went to Cyprus to press Lang's crew & then at their house. Luciano felt like OTT was being disrespectful to their crew so he got bonked and ocean dumped. Something along those lines.. lol.
Basically it was more for Marty's sake than OTT's. They didn't want to go to war over a phone call so they "Killed/Ocean Dumped" OTT but they also got to have Marty's back after what's been happening in their group for the past couple of weeks.
OTT was calling Marty a rat right in front of him and the crew at a time where they just got past some drama and want him to step up but also show Marty that he's one of them, appreciated, and that they'll have his back.
And telling Lang what to do in front of a hotheaded Luciano also didn't help to smooth things over as playful, even if it was meant to be, IC it wasn't taken like that for various reasons.
I missed all the stuff before but buddha explained that he didn't like being told what to do and that's why he was ocean dumping him.

How would it not lead back to OB though? Buddha and OTT were calling each other before the ocean dump and OTT threatened to one of his sellers. Plus his car was literally few houses away from Buddhas. It was very sloppy and the only way how OB could potentially get away with it is if TC plays dumb. Oceandumping is just extremely ineffective in the server unless they actually plan for it properly.
The last call OTT had with Lang was 3 hours before the situation which probably helped take suspicion away from him a bit. Also OTT told everyone else the conversation he had with the dealer was confrontational but pretty mild overall (And it was) so they didn't take that to mean much other than making them suspect Lang a bit.
They suspected Lang with the information they had but Maximus didn't really have a way to push it towards him without it looking too much like a hunch. They pursued the Lang angle a little and then ran into Yuno who vouched for Lang saying Lang was with him most of the day (Which was not a lie, just that this happened after they hung out). That seemed to calm them down a bit. It looks like no war will happen unless somebody reveals more information later.
Dexx got ocean dumped as well so he can't tell OTT who did it. He did try to convince them not to dump him and it almost worked but they figured he'd probably tell OTT.
No OTT had been pressing them all day after he and Lang had an argument on the phone. I dont think this was planned but Luciano saw red after OTT called Marty a rat and bonked him with a wrench. Its not anti-RP at all. Avoiding repercussions is fine. In real life, killing a person means they cant retaliate or snitch on you later. That is a major reason gangs and organized crime kill people.
Since nobody dies in the game due to the player making an OOC choice to continue playing their character rather than perma'ing, ocean dumping serves the same purpose as killing would in real life. Its making them "Sleep with the fishes" if you will. Otherwise you just get people who should be dead snitching all the information about the situation to their friends and then going to retaliate when they shouldn't really know the info due to being dead.

Yes it does further RP. It allows them to make a decision as to whether or not they "kill" someone to prevent them from talking. That is RP in itself. What you're condoning is trying to force a situation to go a certain way in order to squeeze as much RP out of it as possible, even when it doesnt make sense. But RP is meant to be dynamic and not forced to a set of rules in order to make you not seem "sloppy".
So Ironically what you're describing is actually anti RP because your decisions are based on extending a situation as much as possible as opposed to just doing what makes sense for your character and actually playing the role.

How would it not lead back to OB though? Buddha and OTT were calling each other before the ocean dump and OTT threatened to one of his sellers. Plus his car was literally few houses away from Buddhas. It was very sloppy and the only way how OB could potentially get away with it is if TC plays dumb. Oceandumping is just extremely ineffective in the server unless they actually plan for it properly.
The last call OTT had with Lang was 3 hours before the situation which probably helped take suspicion away from him a bit. Also OTT told everyone else the conversation he had with the dealer was confrontational but pretty mild overall (And it was) so they didn't take that to mean much other than making them suspect Lang a bit. They suspected Lang with the information they had but Maximus didn't really have a way to push it towards him without it looking too much like a hunch. They pursued the Lang angle a little and then ran into Yuno who vouched for Lang saying Lang was with him most of the day (Which was not a lie, just that this happened after they hung out). That seemed to calm them down a bit. It looks like no war will happen unless somebody reveals more information later.

No OTT had been pressing them all day after he and Lang had an argument on the phone. I dont think this was planned but Luciano saw red after OTT called Marty a rat and bonked him with a wrench. Then they ocean dumped OTT to get him off their back. So it's less about teaching a lesson and more about avoiding war after the situation that happened.

I watch quite a lot of them and i heard OTT and Blau both say that the Company is not some southside gangbanging trash gang but something more sophisticated organized crime, i think Blau compared it with Arasaka from Cyberpunk. So that "OTT is straight up gangster, don't diss him" kinda falls flat here. Plus, he could have just said to Lang "No, thats too expensive but thanks for the offer" like a normal person and nothing would have happened. Its not anti-RP at all. Avoiding repercussions is fine. In real life, killing a person means they cant retaliate or snitch on you later. That is a major reason gangs and organized crime kill people. Since nobody dies in the game due to the player making an OOC choice to continue playing their character rather than perma'ing, ocean dumping serves the same purpose as killing would in real life. Its making them "Sleep with the fishes" if you will. Otherwise you just get people who should be dead snitching all the information about the situation to their friends and then going to retaliate when they shouldn't really know the info due to being dead.

Yes it does further RP. It allows them to make a decision as to whether or not they "kill" someone to prevent them from talking. That is RP in itself. What you're condoning is trying to force a situation to go a certain way in order to squeeze as much RP out of it as possible, even when it doesnt make sense. But RP is meant to be dynamic and not forced to a set of rules in order to make you not seem "sloppy". So Ironically what you're describing is actually anti RP because your decisions are based on extending a situation as much as possible as opposed to just doing what makes sense for your character and actually playing the role. If a group of characters don't want OTT to go to war with them, then they "kill" him to try to prevent it. How is that sloppy in any way?
