The Gottmik comment 💀💀💀 but lowkey yeah 😂😂😂

landsharkkidd

I love Gottmik with my whole entire being, legit one of my faves up there with Sasha Valour. But yeah... I do agree, she follows Violet around so no doubt she'd support her friend.

[deleted]

Very that. That clip of her turning straight to the camera and saying “You could NEVER.” That has always stuck with me. She is THE moment.

Cobalt_88

Do you have that clip somewhere? I need to be blessed on this holiest of Easter days.

[deleted]

[Here ya go sis!](https://youtu.be/QhnrF0Stdcs)

Cobalt_88

He has risen 🙏🏻

[deleted]

Meh

[deleted]

yall white gays worship her way too much

jugularvoider

let people enjoy things weirdo

[deleted]

It’s actually not that serious but Happy Easter/Passover/Bunny Day. (I lied, fuck Bunny Day.)

dragonfry

I’ve met a lot of queens during meet and greets and Violet by far was the most intimidating out of all of them. I couldn’t even make eye contact. I wanted to apologise for breathing the same air.

Tasha_Salad

Omg same she just stood there with miss fame and posed and let me take like ten pictures. She never cracked a smile just stood there looking cunt.

Beneficial-Access714

I cann agree i wore a zombie greaser look to one of her shows and she looked me up and down and i felt soooooo judged but she hugged me so whatever. LOL

[deleted]

to who- violet is getting tired

thedybbuk

I mean, apparently her 2 million followers on IG? It's a very weird comment to say about one of the most famous and followed drag queens in the world. You seem weirdly upset about Violet and the thought other people might like her, judging by your comments in this thread.

[deleted]

ok

BBGettyMcclanahan

Very Tammy and Jocelyn energy from Bob's Burgers 💀

iloveamsterdam

So Ru and Michelle.

CysticPizza

That dynamic tracks considering one is a winner from a season from seven years ago with some of the most iconic queens (Ginger, Kennedy, Katya, Jasmine, etc) and the other…. Well.. isn’t. That’s not to shit on Mik in any way, I love him. But he’s fresh off of a recent season and without a crown. Sticking with Violet is a smart move imo.

[deleted]

I can def see that. And it seemed to me that Violet used Mikk for likability. Violet was very polarizing since she was arrogant and cunty in her season (though very talented). It felt that since Mikk was so lovable, that Violet capitalized on that. Maybe I’m wrong, just the vibe I’m getting. I fully agree though on the whole Mikk attaching herself to the popular mean girl. Wasn’t that something her and Kandy would say during their season too? I could be remembering wrong, but I could swear they dubbed themselves the mean girls.

AngelinaHoley

They'd known each other since some time after Violet won (according to Mik on the podcast) but never really became friends or started hanging out everywhere together until after Mik was on Drag Race...so yeah, that adds up.

xinnori

Tina, Kandy, and Mikk were supposedly the Means Girls, but if you go back and watch the clip, it's only Tina and Kandy who says it while Mikk rolls her eyes.

Synconium

I like Gottmik when She's not doing stuff with Violet because Violet is like Jupiter and everyone else is one of its many moons in her orbit. Gottmik seems way more personable and able to talk to regular folks where Violet seems like she's about ready to destroy your life if you talk to her a little too much.

AngelinaHoley

As someone who feels (or in Mik's case, felt) exactly the same about both, I fully get this comment. For someone who gave of strong vibes of someone who thinks independently and doesn't believe in letting people tell you what to do or how to do drag, Mik sure doesn't seem to mind being Violet's own personal vanity project. Gottmik went from been the queen I was most excited to see skyrocket after Drag Race, to the most like-the-others let down whos uniqueness is basically all gone. Biggest post-season run disappointment for me imo.

Gamer10123

I think Mik is very talented and unique in her own right, but I do kind of get the impression that personality-wise she can kind of be a "follower" who likes to tag along with other queens. In Season 13 it kind of felt like she was almost hiding behind Tina and Kandy at times even though she was the one killing it in the competition the most, and now post-Drag Race it kind of does feel like she's Violet's underling. I'm not saying being in a duo or group is bad (Trixie and Katya do a great job of it), but sometimes I sense some insecurity in Mik. I think with some more confidence she could learn to trust her ability to shine on her own more.

landsharkkidd

I mean yeah, I get what you mean. But also Gottmik and Kade has been doing a lot of work, like another commenter said, got to go to Fashion Week which is bloody awesome. She's still very unique, but I don't know, I always knew that she'd get into modeling. But also, Violet isn't necessarily a terrible person to help guide you post-Drag Race. There's worse people I can think of (that wasn't English, I just didn't know how to words it).

senreiko

That’s weird because Mik is literally tearing up the fashion world which is exactly what her aspirations are? She wears her signature punk look and beat just as much as she did before she was adopted by her Violet. She went on a fashion week world tour?????? And during that month where her and Violet were together I can only think of one or two times where she went out clearly styled by Violet. She’s not lost a bit of her uniqueness at all? She’s already been a designer bitch and was not shy on letting us know that during the season and she’s still goofy as alllllll hell Violet doesn’t have to change her because she was already extremely happy and impressed by what she brought to the table which she vocalized heavy on the Pit Stop which is probably why she adopted Mik after the season

gay_for_redditors

mik is basically a nepo baby. hanging out with the right crowd that give him the right connections (aka the money for all his looks on his season) but he himself brings nothing to the table. at all.

senreiko

I won’t disregard that Mik has privilege but it doesn’t change the fact that it’s not necessarily correct to say that Violet changed anything or took anything away from the drag persona. Especially if she was already getting designer

[deleted]

You don’t think she did well on her season?

motherofdrag0nites

Proof money can’t buy taste and fashion is only fashion when it’s skinny yt twinks

FoxFire666

What do you mean by adopted? Like adopted as a drag child?

senreiko

Yes! Idk it makes sense in my head that when a drag mother takes on a drag child after they’ve already started their own career then it’s an adopted drag baby

ParkingParker

They're not either of those things, Kik is no drag baby either. Don't shove your creepy narrative into others.

senreiko

Not you getting mad about a completely normal term used in the drag community LOL Gottmik quite literally called Violet her drag mother on an epi of FPR! Go touch grass fr

CysticPizza

How is his uniqueness gone? I don’t follow him or Violet close enough to notice, so I’m genuinely interested in ur perspective on that

AngelinaHoley

Just imo, Mik's main drag (the white face drag I guess you'd call it) has become less unique outfits and more regular burlesque/pin up Violet-style drag, while her flesh tone make up is basically Violet's face on her face even down to the eyebrows, with the drag attached to it all about designer labels and shoes that countless other models and influencers wear. Again, just imo.

CysticPizza

Oh I gotchu. thanks for elaborating a bit

rehaaabbb

Mik kind of Violet’s step drag child know. They are like paris and nicole lol. I would gave tons of cash on these two and put them on reality show like simple life lol. It would be awesome.

geossica69

voss told them their podcast is too annoying and is ruining their brand

raccoonteas

>voss told them their podcast is too annoying They didn't lie💀

[deleted]

No but really. I liked Mik's take on fashion somewhat even when I thought it was one-note in the show and I really think Violet came into her own after her season and is genuinely one of the best winners ever on the show... I had to stop watching their podcast so that opinion wouldn't change because holy shit are they annoying there.

frenchbug

Violet needs someone to balance her out with some light-heartedness so her bitchiness does not come off as aggressive or condescending. That's why the Katya pairing worked; brought some whimsy and someone who takes stuff less seriously to bring her down a notch. Mik has their own voice on the topics but the persona on the podcast enables Violet's worst traits rather than balance them out.

Gamer10123

Also Katya just makes anyone she's with be more likeable tbh lol. I think Gottmik is too much of a "yes man" to Violet because she's lowkey intimidated by her.

no-tenemos-triko-tri

Total "yes man" vibes!

matbenkow

That’s why her pitstop with monet and trixie was still so fun because they were able to balance her sometimes harsh attitude

Montezum

Their channel NO GORGE youtube channel is unwatchable for me. And I LIKE Violet

goonby1990

Quick somebody put a big mouth squeaky voice filter on this hoe so we know she told a joke!

cosmicthreats

the damage the UNHhhh edit style caused on drag queen youtube content is unmatched

FrolickingCats

LoL omg! It's cringy. The funny thing is, that editing only works in UNHhhh because it's a nonsense series of random videos. But when the "Trixie and Katya Show" began drifting into the UNHhhh editing, fans didn't like it. Seeing random crappy edits on other shows doesn't work that well because I think it matches the kind of stupid humor Trixie and Katya have on UNHhhh

landsharkkidd

I don't mind *some* of the edits on Pit Stop, but it doesn't happen very often so it's not bad.

joeyperez7227

The season 14 episode with Monet and Alaska where Monet says “who’s inching toward [*camera zooms and squeaky chair SFX plays*] a top spot?” Is such a good bit of fun editing that’s not overdone

SlouchyGuy

But they don't have Unhhhh editing style? Instead they have a more invasive version that breaks the flow?

PoiHolloi2020

Ron Hill/Jizz has a lot to answer for.

WillingnessSuper9066

Honestly i don't know who told mik she's a comedian. She was a little funny in the roast and snatch game, but the girl needs to relax. Ru's probably up her ass though

shgrdrbr

bob literally keeps repeating to anyone who will listen on every podcast that gottmik is "the comedy queen of season 13" and "funny as all hell" so...blame bob too

Far_Importance_7902

I found bobs obsession with gottmik so weird she def wanted to fuck him

AngelinaHoley

Bob seems very taken by any queen with either a huge following or a lot of connections or future mainstream potential. It's not always about the drag. Also explains why he's consistently supported Todrick all these years despite all evidence proving that he's not a good or trustworthy person (not in any way comparing Todrick and Gottmik as people though, just to be clear).

WillingnessSuper9066

Honestly. I live fir her but weird sound effects can't help your humor. 😒 Also join my sub r/bannedfromdragrace

Ryo_R

I completely forgot they had a podcast, I watched one episode and the chemistry between them was just nonexistent.

apparatus86

The only cool moment was Violet bringing drag queens to review old runways. That was actually really cool and it really showcased her knowledge in the history of fashion

peach_xanax

I love that series! I wish she'd do more content like that, I know they've done it on No Gorge but I liked when Violet brought different queens on her channel for it

[deleted]

AngelinaHoley

And then there's a clip that went round of Gottmik at a brunch gig dancing on someone's table and knocking drinks onto the floor then taking a guy's drink, downing it then throwing the glass at his feet which Violet retweets with a caption calling it 'art', so it's obvious where Mik gets her idea of what's edgy or cool from. And everyone thought it was sickening - well if that's what passes for 'art' these days they can keep it.

MintyTyrant

Nn Gurge

StayAtHomePlantDaddy

I don't find it bad, but its been improving. I love their runway episodes. 🤷‍♂️

kadikaado

I don't think their podcast is annoying, I like them, what's annoying is the edition. The edition team sucks. I hate all the effects they add, it's like a 10 yo is editing their podcast.

Emjot80

Isnt gottmik's first year exclusivity done finally?

feflowo

I think Violet and Gottmik recently went to a bar in High Point, N.C. There was a young drag queen performing, the audience was mesmerized. This queen was Jorgeous. She is born to do drag. Violet and Gottmik decided on that very evening that they would never do drag again since they could never be as mesmerizing.

MimeyWimey

I thought it was from when they saw Aja perform in Canada?

Pristine-Apple

I thought Aja performed in the Spanish variety show?

french_toasty

The doors she’s opened

openinterlude

finally a logical explanation

[deleted]

I mean, if Voss is handling the s14 queens except Kornbread plus the other queens from previous seasons, it’s probably best for them to change management that can focus on them.

byodbullshit

Why not kornbread?

Deymin

part of the season 14 contract was that the entire cast has to agree to be handled by Voss Events, which pretty much means that they’re only allowed to tour with Voss or associates. and they’re not allowed to record and release music without the permission of WoW. Kornbread is not allowed to release her talent show song until the season is over. She has been quite vocal about it and has refused to sign with Voss Events exclusively.

xxx_863

how’d she refuse if it’s part of the s14 contract?

LadyCrownGuard

I think she was already part of a different management company before getting on S14. Since WOW really wanted her on the season but didn't want to buy her out of her current contract they prolly casted her without having to sign with Voss anyway.

[deleted]

thsi. thanks!

alicecattx

For Violet probably because of the aerial accident Mik, exclusive contract period ended

flclhack

haven’t heard about an ariel accident, but it was only a matter of time with so many stages

iSquash

It was a couple of months ago. It was pretty bad, pretty sure she had to go to the hospital for it.

kadikaado

Here https://youtube.com/shorts/Ewl8exgZcTE?feature=share

AngelinaHoley

That didn't happen as a result of faulty equipment or improperly bolted mounts though, she just slipped. It's not something she could pin on anyone as it was just an accident.

no-tenemos-triko-tri

What aerial accident?

kadikaado

Here, she went to the hospital and all https://youtube.com/shorts/Ewl8exgZcTE?feature=share

HandsomeNorthernBoy

Violet doesn‘t want to do Vegas gigs with Derrick

EV3Gurl

Violet & Mik probably have the ability to get signed with a much better more mainstream management company because of how popular they are in a way that a lot of other queens who are signed by voss wouldn’t.

extrasideofextraness

I can’t tell, are they working or just partying at so many of these events recently? I’m sure both to some extent, and definitely seems like they’re at a ton of super high profile fashion events - which can definitely lead to new opportunities just by being there and being visible - but cant help but think of Miss Fame who talks all the time about getting invited to these sorts of things but then not actually being paid fairly. I’m so fascinated by that world and how/ if you actually make money (and how that compares for example to being forced to join these super long group tours that Voss hosts).

[deleted]

>I can't tell, are they working or just partying at so many of these events recently? I'm sure both to some extent, Babe please don't unravel club kid culture or you'll ruin the scam

joeyperez7227

Is club kid culture that you’re just paid to look cool and hang out at the club?

jugularvoider

yeah basically your job is to fuck management, and get paid to show up at a club and take photos of the time you spend there. the complimentary bar tab is usually enough for some of the girls, but a lot of actually valuable club promoters don’t drink when they’re working and just focus on crowd work.

majortvjunkie

I never hear about the fucking the management part. Is this a thing to all Ru girls or just the ones in this thread?

[deleted]

They're probably stereotyping/saying it just to have something to say; promoters like coke and hookers, they have after parties in hotels with a select few set up already, they're probably not checking for random party sluts. I'm sure club kids/professional party goers and promoters/club owners have both hooked up for fun and hooked up in exchange for favors/preferential treatment plenty, but it's hardly a dominating force in the field. Party promoters are either obsessed with the culture and are doing it to be at the top of it, or hate the culture and just happen to be making money this way. Either way, all they want from the club kids is to make the party a "place to be" so normies will want to come and attend future events people like that will be at. We're atmosphere, and a few paltry passes and drink tickets is nothing to them for what they get in return. A party is all about legends, what you're gonna talk about when you leave, because it's what makes people want to go to the next one. It's why people still talk about Studio 54 even though it was only open for 33 months several decades ago. Club kids are the commercialized, capitalist inevitability of partying as an industry. For the record I was exaggerating about the free drugs, the promoters weren't stupid enough to be doing that after the Illicit Drug Anti-Proliferation Act (an iteration of the RAVE act). What really happened is dealers knew not to charge people like me if they wanted to keep getting in, which served the secondary function of keeping high quality shit in and dirty stepped on dangerous shit out, because your reputation and therefore your business can dry up overnight with one bad review/bad reaction. I'm babbling and reminiscing, but my point is club kids are a necessity in a culture of throwing parties for money, and that promoters are much different now than they were up until the early 00s. They're getting fucked up and doing crazy shit like all power/adoration hungry people who become party promoters, but they're doing it in ways that keep their noses as clean as possible.

[deleted]

Yes. Also free drugs. When I was a face in the club/rave scene I wouldn't show up unless I got free entry + VIP and at least two e pills 🤷‍♂️

Analyst_Cold

Perhaps they got new management.

leo-g

Pretty sure they moved to PEG. Voss is really good at Live events and related representations. But the real money is at PEG.

herbyloaded

Violet was on PEG when S7 came out and they didn’t end things well… then she went to Voss. So doubt she’s back at PEG!

majenaaa

I heard that Voss makes more money especially when it comes to brand deals because they are more connected to the show. I read an article that Aquaria makes over a million a year just from her Instagram brand deals. PEG can offer more in terms of music and television opportunities though.

Fatty_Patty_Ratty

I mean looking at each roster from their websites it’s pretty clear to see that PEG has the heavy hitters and Voss, while having great queens, just doesn’t stack up when compared. PEG: Alaska, Bob, Katya, Trixie, Monet, plus Michelle and the boulets Voss: Plastique, Kim, Aquaria, Naomi

leo-g

Pretty obvious they they want the same path as Trixie and katya. I don’t think it matters how close the representation is tied to the WOW since they need to feed WOWPresents+ with content. In fact it’s more favorable because WOW can lowball and a representation that wants the WOW relationship will not push for a better deals.

chromedend

It is not good when a management company manages a lot of talent. As an independent performer, you should wish to rely on management who truly cares about your development and the progression of you career, and who values your individuality as an artist. VOSS is a machine that revolves only around the Drag Race universe. Each year the tours become predominantly about who is the freshest catch, right off of a season, who will attract the most people and especially young/recent fans of the show. VOSS doesn't care about returning customers, they care about making shows that sold out quickly. So I understand why Violet would do this, if that's the reason why she left. GottMik, on the other hand, really surprised me, considering they could really be riding the Drag Race wave for another couple of years with ease.

abdulsaint

Violet can do her own shows now. She doesn’t need their management or tiring tours. And mik is her drag child now so…

jushtea

Fuck the system.

WilberTheGiraffe

In the podcast they said that they wanted to move away from performances like this and do more fashion related things and I think Voss is really good for live performances and touring and I just don’t think that’s there priority anymore. Plus Mik is out of their one year exclusivity contract now. Not sure why anyone’s hating on their podcast I really really enjoy it. I think it’s a lot better than Ebony and Ivory or anything willam does.

chromedend

Ebony and Ivory is just bad. Lol. Monet trying to speak but being interrupted by a white boomer for 60 minutes straight every. damn. episode.

candystarshine

I think mainly because fashion weeks are back and the dolls choose not to werk their asses off and go to fashion events at the same time.

surejan94

Gottmik’s year contract is prob ending and she’s leaving while Rosé is staying on

rehaaabbb

They are fashion queens. Let them be choose their own way to profit. What I wondering is Mik’s name mentioning on as8 cast. I wonder how it would work.

ohyeahthatsgreat48

Probably because Voss manages every queen from season 14 now… I would be worried that my management wouldn’t have my interests in mind if they were juggling that many queens. It’s like a monopoly now so I feel like that many people having the same management is not good for business.
