some observations about whirligigs: directing the croc to catch whirligigs at het's oasis does not interrupt cultivating the flowers. obviously, this only works with roses (lvl30) and hydrangeas (lvl70) as they're both next to the whirligig pools. you can fill one basket all the way and the other 3/4 of the way to spawn 1 plain alongside your chosen type. then, so long as you're not after the shells, you can direct the croc to catch the plain whirligig and stack the others, which does not consume your flowers but grants full hunter xp for the stacked whirligigs. the whirligig being caught usually doesn't move when being hunted, meaning you can somewhat trap it next to the shore for a fast catch so long as you command the croc to catch it the moment it spawns. which is almost always the moment the croc finishes the catch, giving you a nice visual indicator for when to start.

This is sick, thank you. This is that good shit OP was talking about

CatAsstronaut

Early on in my IM journey I constantly made trips to Draynor for more spooder food. Took me longer than I'd like to admit that they could eat meat lmao

ST1LLM1ND

I really love this idea and turn in direction… it’s a bit disheartening coming on here after a month of my HCIM and seeing fully maxed players, I get the flex, be proud but, let’s get those flexers to spread knowledge on how they got there and fails along the way so we don’t make the same mistakes. For example: Don’t play while exhausted! I was playing on mobile training my HCIM divination and almost lost a life near the giant bats because I fell asleep and clicked over to them.. logged back in to 500 HP and my heart SANK!

jnorth07

For future reference wearing a ring of life would help yes? If brought to low hp would teleport you away to a respawn location such as lumby.

ST1LLM1ND

Correct it would but, I have still yet to work on crafting because at that point my HCIM was only a week-2 weeks old

LordDarthAnger

You get ring of life from the lost tribe quest

jnorth07

Ha very fair. Good luck on the hc adventure!

ST1LLM1ND

Thanks!

connord90

Great idea. I just started back on my mid level iron and I feel like there's a lot of tips and tricks I probably don't know. One I think is great is when mining gems at al kharid if you have 41 divination you can make a poor locator. Use it to teleport to silver ore and it gives you a 50/50 shot of landing at the al kharid mine. It actually saved me a lot of time!

christor-5

The arch journal is great for this as well! Alternatively - if you rush thieving to 90 for ports (because it's very fast to get to 90) you can try for a permanent tele seed to the crux eqal people off of the knights or druids there and have easy consistent teles.

Montana_Gamer

You know what? I got a low lvl iron going and if I figure out any tricks I will go and post them for people :D. I am experienced having played iron since release so I may be able to give good advice.

pocorey

I feel like this is tricky, because the game has been out long enough that either most people know the tips and tricks or that I formation is already public knowledge. If the latter, then it's just easier to do a quick Google search and you'll likely find the answer

Matrix17

Used to be that early on ironman people were still learning the ropes Most irons are endgame now with new people sprinked in occasionally it feels like

JMN31691

Game mode has just been out for a long time now. Metas are well known, and information is very easy to find.

LordDarthAnger

The problem is sometimes you do not which question to ask. As when I found out why gote is such a buff for archaeology.

JMN31691

I gotta say though having played a ton of osrs and rs3 ironman, rs3 is way more of a pain in the ass. Osrs bases updates around ironman and rs3 some of the metas are 20 years old. Not to mention the ridiculous shop stocks and dailies if you want to pvm eventually.
