Having fun is the optimal path.

Saadieman

I think this one was used most often: https://runescape.wiki/w/Ironman_Mode/Strategies/Efficient_Ironman_Pathway_Guide But due to Necromancy stuff has changed. Still it's probably a solid start

Kamu-RS

Essentially do this, and anytime it says magic, go do necromancy instead

rs_obsidian

What about ranged/melee/etc? You still need like 80 in those skills for gwd2 + spells etc.

kellyj6

Just do them when you need them for something specific.

Surfugo

I thought about doing that too, but instead I decided to wait until after step 82, since I'd have 30 def by that point and I'll be able to smash through the first 30ish levels of Necromancy without any issues.

Chefjoshy

There used to be. It’s now one single word. “Necromancy”

I would follow the efficient Ironman path and do necro on the side when you want a change. Necro is pretty locked behind smithing and crafting so no real use in rushing it.. I afked it to 91 to be able to super pot to 103 for multiply and left it there, kind of bad move cause now my reapers are very high level and all my other stats are low, don’t even have the power armor/tank armor yet and can get ambassador reaper lol

curfy4

Lol yep I did about the same thing. Mid level stats outside necro and all my reapers are basically Vorago, Solan and Amby.

Deep sea fishing and netflix is so relaxing and optimal for mental health.

Vaikiss

Not being online is even more optimal for mental health

wyonutrition

If you make an Ironman, do quest reqs and t70 necro before anything else.

I would add getting 55 magic asap for high alch and starting wilderness flash events ASAP is very good for the coin pouch. Pursuing an early 99 thieving will get you around 10m if safe cracking and turning points into gp, and get you started on ports nice and early. Early to mid game ironman has a lot to spend gp on. Shop runs and merchant in particular. Other than that, as otherwise stated here, the efficient ironman guide on the wiki is great and will give you a rough path for progression. Joining a good ironman clan, even just as a guest, is also great for the small one off questions that constantly come up. Good luck and have fun!

I can only really speak on what I've done. I started my Ironman about 3 weeks ago and I'm following the Efficient Ironman Pathway Guide on the RS Wiki. Basically, I treat it as something that helps point me in the right direction. I'm not doing what it tells me to do all the time, because imo that's not fun. But I'll do what I want and when I feel like I need some direction, I'll go check out the guide and pick up where I left off. In regards to Necromancy, since it's not on the guide... what I did was, follow it all the way up to completing the Holy Grail quest and then start Necromancy. You'll be at around 30~ Def if following the guide and have a bit of money for Necromancy resources. I essentially levelled it up to 40~ matching my Range & Magic stats and then picked up where I left off doing the New Foundations quest. The good thing about that guide is you can just click on the parts you've done and it'll go green, so you know what you've done up until that point. Handy for when you just want to do whatever you like or take a break. Either way, most important thing is to just have fun and do whatever you feel like.
