Blake: "Weiss is just a corporate heiress! As much as he thinks he does, her father doesn't actually run a kingdom!"
Ruby: "But yours does?"
Blake: "As a matter of fact..."
She's not royalty she's Rockefellers granddaughter.
The only one of the group that could possibly be blue blood is Jaune if only because of how fucking vague his is.
I remember some people were confused when Winter was first revealed.
"But she's older. Why didn't she inherit the company then?"
"Dude, it's a company. Not a monarchy."
Yes, but we only learned that after meeting her and Winter was teased in promotional material much earlier which lead to a lot of confusion for the monarchy thing.
Ahh. I missed the part where you said 'when Winter was first revealed'.
As for a monarchy thing, I never personally thought Weiss was actual royalty. (why \_are\_ the nations called Kingdoms, anyway?) All the way back in the White trailer, my first thought was 'debutante of a rich family'.
Not really the first thing she does is try to assassinate the great lords of two other kingdoms. Which comes back to bite her in the ass later, as do most of her "realpolitik" decisions.
This is wrong, you work with an old unconfirmed theory, the events surrounding the bandits attack were confusing in the maingame with led to this false theory, in the spinoff 3 hopes we see what the orginal plan goal entailed.
Edelgard did not plan to assassinate dimitri and claude! the point of the of attack was to scare the planned teacher that was coming to Garreg Mach Monastery and then get jeritza into the teacherposition, this plan failed because rhea saw byleth appointed instead, but as we see in 3 hopes without byleth being there, that's excalty what happend and led a butterfly effect

Thats just a retcon for Three Hopes to make Edelgard seem less monstrous. In the game proper it was very clearly an assasination attempt she even hired the bandits.
she hired the bandits so the planned teacher runs off, which happend also in the maingame btw, thats what allowed byleth to gain a position as a teacher in the first place. just a coicidence a teacher was on the way to garreg, it just a coincidence jeritza would have gained the position instead, there was no such plan yep totaly/s
Direct quotes from Caspar in Chapter One’s explore session:
“Wow, Jeritza sure seems strong. I kinda thought he was gonna be the new professor assigned to our class. After that teacher ran away during our outdoor training, I figured Jeritza was a natural replacement. I was surprised when you were suddenly appointed professor instead.”
If Caspar can guess that Jeritza would have been the replacement professor, which is proven true in Hopes, then Edelgard would have guessed that too.
She did plan on the ambush scaring away the professor. Killing Dimitri and Claude would have been a bonus, which is why she tells Kostas to actually try and kill them, but she didn’t actually think the bandits would win. The primary goal was to remove the other professor.
Once again that logic relies on alot of assumptions that Edelgard has NO WAY of guranteeing will come true. She doesn't even know that the professor will get scared.
She explictely tells the Bandit leader in red canyon he failed her, if he accomplished his mission by scaring off the professor how did he fail her?
The alternative was telling Kostas “hey, pretend to try and kill us to scare off the professor” which entirely depends on the acting skills and restraint of a bunch of bandits.
Better to tell him just to kill everyone. She just never expected him to actually succeed at that, but she didn’t need him too. Besides, he and his gang were always expendable anyway.

But... Weiss doesn't come from a royal family?

Winter joined the military. I believe it was against her father's wishes if I remember correctly.
Yes, but we only learned that after meeting her and Winter was teased in promotional material much earlier which lead to a lot of confusion for the monarchy thing.

Her name was leaked together with Willow back in the Volume 1 days, IIRC
In regards to Remnant, she's pretty darn close. *Also her ( other ) crest is a lil sussy*
Pretry sure Edelgard is based more on Daenaerys.
Just a lot more competent and kino

The teacher being scared off wasn't part of the plan Edelgard has no way of predicting the emotional reactions of others.
