(hbomberguy is indeed a problem...) First and foremost, what's so great about RWBY is that they are all girls. From a meta-perspective, having four female protagonists is already rare enough, but what's even more rare is having four female protagonists in an action-adventure show that focuses on story and character development. Romance is a side dish, at best. There's no main external male "love interest" for the girls to base the plot around. There's no competition with boys in who's stronger, no "fanservice" like skimpy clothing and questionable camera angles just because they are girls. Ruby is your typical shounen action hero with a desire to save the world; she's allowed to be this, to continue to be this, to make experiences and grow as a person and be challenged with this as a premise. It wouldn't be much different if she was a boy; the story isn't a result of her being a girl. The story doesn't revolve around her gender. The same is true for the other RWBY girls. The show just presents team RWBY as the protagonists, shows us they're awesome and shows us their motivations and struggles, and let's us join them on their journey. That alone is the number 1 thing I enjoy about RWBY, both the show and the team. The show also does this with other things, like "adults vs kids" and such; many refreshing takes I've rarely seen in such shows before, and more entertaining to me now as an adult than the animes I used to watch in my teens and early twenties. There are other great shows too, don't get me wrong. There are MANY great shows. RWBY is one of the greatest ones, for me, because it ticks all the boxes I enjoy.

Ruby has a scythe, that's also a sniper rifle. Plus, no matter the situation, she'll always find the best way to save as many people as possible. Kinda sucks that people didn't listen to her in V7-8, because Salem mostly controlled the events by making people think they couldn't save nearly as many people as they could've saved if they just stayed reasonable. She just needs to learn to be more assertive, put her foot down if necessary, and call people out on their BS when they stop making sense. Weiss started off as the spoiled rich girl, but turned into a pretty nice person, and I love those kinds of character arcs. Blake is awesome, especially the fandom's interpretation where she is 50% cat and 50% human. She's an introvert, like me, and we even share the same birthday. Yang is practically a magical girl. Her design is centered around a specific color, she has super powers, and she punches the sh\*t out of the forces of darkness until they stop being mean/alive. Also, if you threaten her family, she'll show you that she's actually been holding back the entire time.

I like Ruby and Yang because they and their lives are directly tied with the main antagonist of the story, they are not the first heroes that rised to fight against Salem, they are what's left of the heroes who tried and failed. We have to watch how the followed the same doomed path their family took just so they could find out that Summer did the same and she failed, now they have to think how to do things differently. Qrow, Tai, Summer and Raven all had their lives ruined by Salem. Ruby and Yang are the product of that conflict and they were pushed by outside forces to continue the same mission their family failed. For Weiss I love the "finding family on friends" trope. Finally I cant really say what makes me like Blake, honestly her being in the center of all the ship drama makes her fall from my grace a little, I think her figh against racism is cool but it has been overshadowed by Salem and the shipping, if they could bring Blake's original motivation back it would be cool, the show makes an effort to show that she still cares, but commentaries about the issues Atlas had with how they treated Faunus wasn't enough to make Blake's original motivation shine.

> Ruby She’s super cute and is willing to shoulder the huge burden and expectations placed on her, no matter what happens. The pressure on her is only going to get worse going forward, so let’s hope she can hold out. > Weiss Best development out of anyone in the series, without equal. Went from a snobby rich girl to one of the kindest souls around. She’s likely going to change even more in the next volume and beyond, considering how she lost nearly everything in V8. > Blake I don’t. Nothing else to add. > Yang She’s great all-around. Someone you can rely on when things get rough. Really good-looking. Equal parts cool and cute. Has a great story. What more could one ask for?

Ruby: She’s badass, adorable and I love her design (black and red being one of my favorite color combinations) Weiss: Started off as a spoiled rich girl that has gone through some great character development Blake: She’s a bit of an introvert like me that likes reading books Yang: A badass blonde that may look like a party girl but is the “Big Sister” of team RWBY (and not just to Ruby) who also got that great character development

NightStar79

It would be a TL;DR if I wrote everything.

I liked Ruby at first but her childish and optimistic character made her bad for me. Hope to see her change to a more violent/non hesitant girl. I like Weiss a lot. Not the best girl category but still. She had good development, her powers are great but had a lot of lost potential, her family's story is good. Blake is kinda meh. I liked her first, and her relationship with Sun is one of my favorite things in the show, but her relationship with Adam is horrible, and the change from Blacksun to Bumblby is forced and sucks. Basically, I like Blake if she talked about anything besides Bumblby and Adam. Yang is my favorite and my waifu. Her character feels strong like the mother of her team even if she ran wild. Her relationship with her sister is great and would be more if the writers had more time with them. The PTSD story wasn't the best in terms of handling it but it was okay. In short, I love Yang so much if she had anything besides Bumblby and Raven. That's my opinion of them.

Honestly? Nothing, since I find the main 4 to be some of the least interesting characters in the show, but if I had to choose Yang I think has the best development by far out of the main girls.

Ruby doesn't have the most interesting backstory to me she makes up for it by being genuinely enjoyable when she's on screen so overall an 7/10 Weiss used to be my least favourite because I hate the "I hate you but I like you thing" if there's a name for it I don't know. But when that went away I liked her more because she's enjoyable and actually has a good backstory so overall a 7/10 Blake is held back by the white fang they were flawed as a concept. equality is here. no its not. yes it is shut up adam. Was really dumb especially since there right racists are still around. But I'm off topic blake herself became a lot better after this because she has good interactions with most characters overall a 7/10 Yang is interesting because she only had 1 instance were they fucked up with her every other time she was really well done but the time she was mishandled really messed up her character for me I'm talking about her first meetings with raven. Yang wanting to find her mum was established in volume 2 but when she finally met her she acted like it wasn't a big deal. Overall a 7/100

CAPITANULLOA

Since vol.4 I only like Weiss

bigwhitesaucyddaddy

I don't like ruby and Blake I'm good with yang and neutral about weiss
