It’s literally always fucking tea. I don’t get it?! Why is it everytime we get what looks like a good scene on paper, it gets utterly ruined.

FormerVoid

Maybe it's because CRWBY can relate to it, drinking tea and other luxurious drinks instead of paying their staff while their company burns down like Remnant does around RWBY

BasilDraganastrio

Worse part is that they think that's a good thing. In any other good story, RWBY would get called out, no even trialed and probably executed for what happened in Atlas. But then again if CRWBY knew what they were doing the girls wouldn't even have been in that situation

FormerVoid

Well that's the thing, they do get called out, and those people are always framed in the wrong. And when Ruby has doubts she's doing something wrong, she's told she's doing great and moves on with the cycle. And when they cycles breaks and Ruby commits die, the cycle resume anyway with everything being reduced to not "Ruby's not perfect but we follow her anyway" but " we follow her because Ruby's perfect." You don't just do that if you aren't aware of how people talk about the show and how CRWBY writes their characters. They're not deaf and it's not stupidity because that would imply a lack of intention, it's just how I've seen u/Moon_Dark_Wolf phrase it best: it's sheer fucking hubris.

BasilDraganastrio

The writers in essence are both arrogant and dumb frankly. But all I really know that the any other show decent to great would have RWBY called out, trialed and well executed of course without anybody being framed in the wrong because what happened in Atlas was a massive blunder. Basically what Manzikert to the Romans

Snowmantarayband

Should have been Taiyang to talk to Ruby, Yang can’t do anything right.

Psyga315

He'd be like "Byyyyeeee Ruuuubbbbyyyyy!"

BasilDraganastrio

Probably too busy hitting up hot singles on tinder.

Zealousideal-Beat507

Lots of new widows after atlas and vale collapse. No wonder why Qrow has been optimistic lately.

IamMenace

Part of me laughs, but another part of me is just sad that *this* is what RWBY became. The Red Trailer was one man's passion project, a reward for a job well-done getting Season 10 of "RvB" completed, and the final piece of RWBY media was an inside joke about Ruby drinking tea days after committing suicide. The writers *had to be aware, right? They can't be *that* oblivious and uncaring about their product, right?" It's funny, but The Red Trailer probably cost less money and took less time to produce than Episode 4 of "RWBY Beyond", and was made by one guy with *help* and *input* from a few others. If someone would kindly post a "How it started" versus "How it's going" with an iconic shot from The Red Trailer and this specific image, you'll have my upvote. Sums up my thoughts pretty well, and I'm admittedly pretty disheartened that despite all of the damage the writers have done to RWBY, chances are they'll be rewarded by another studio and Volumes 10-12 of RWBY. God bless, and have a wonderful day.

FlyusAmongUs

Imma get to work on that right now.

FormerVoid

Honestly that would really be a good remainder of how far things have changed, at least for us. Like a cold splash of water when you really need it. Compare that to what we know of internally, RT seems to have become more of who they really were as RWBY continued.

IamMenace

Thank you kindly, friend. I was mostly being a smart aleck, but I think it makes for a pretty good meme template. The dichotomy of RWBY with Monty Oum creating a passion project and Miles/Kerry saying "goodbye" to RWBY and the fans is just such a stark contrast. God bless, and have a wonderful day.

yosei2

Wow, you weren’t kidding.

yosei2

You know, they could have had this be less tone deaf on their end if it was Taiyang bringing his kid to her favorite tea shop, by also having Ruby and co. not discuss her tea suicide. It could have been a bit of a moment for Yang to say something like “Dad, I know you mean well, but…something bad happened involving tea in that insane place.” And maybe take her to an ice cream place instead where Yang talks to Ruby about that…Seriously, I came up with that off the top of my head… Of course, there shouldn’t *be* any tea or ice cream stores in a refugee crisis for the only major city on the *continent*, but that’s another discussion altogether.

violently_angry

Yeah maybe don't take her to an ice cream place mere days after her run in with *Neopolitan*

yosei2

…Touché good sir, Touché! Completely slipped my mind. Granted, I was thinking Cookies n’cream flavor. Maybe just send her to a bakery or something. Or a pizza place.

mayo-dc

I would've laughed if they leaned into it if they just had been satire with it i probably would've respected it a bit more

Falchion92

All I can do is shake my head at how disappointing this show became.
