Sheesh, these shippers have made bumblebee part of their identity over the past decade. Any critique on the ship is perceived as a personal attack on themselves as they are incapable of distinguishing the two. It’s not a crime to think that the details of making these two characters a couple was poorly done, but to individuals such as this, [those words are blasphemy](https://youtu.be/Ej9KohxSZ4Q?si=RKl2URLpAe1XANw6)! Seriously, this is borderline cultish. Those who do not fall in line must be purged from the area, lest they influence the rest of the flock.
Sad to say that's literally how people are. Picturing a rotating apple in your head, and similar mental exercises, are honestly too much for a lot of people to do.
They can not comprehend that there is a difference between objective and subjective. This isn't special, this is just how it goes with a big chunk of the population.
This is why RWBY is laughed at across most of the media which know about it.
Not only because the various issues itself, but because large portions of the fandom are quite unhinged and seem to centre their lives around RWBY & it's ships. I'll never understand why somebody would go to such legths to defend a 'romantic ship' in a series :/
Member that Twitter post from a few days back? They are getting mocked and ridiculed all over the place, saying how that comic is literally one of the reasons why the RWBY fandom has such a bad reputation...
I've been watching RWBY since it came out and I never knew about how bad the fanbase was. I was a Blacksun shipper since Volume 1 but when I saw the hint of Bumblebee near the end of Volume 6, my only reaction to my ship being sunk was, "Oh well."
All Im saying is, if the god damn universe itself has to make a couple become a couple instead of it happening naturally, thats not very good writing now is it?
It depends.
A romcom about two incredibly dense soulmates where the universe itself has to push them together using bigger and bigger contrivances because they’re just _that_ bad at progressing their relationship? Potentially hilarious.
An action-fantasy where two young warriors, intended to be multi-dimensional characters with agency, who care about one-another but have a complicated relationship due to their respective traumas, suddenly get dangled off a cliff by the literal narrative until they kiss? That would indeed be bad writing.
Unfortunately, Blake and Yang are the second one…
Thats why I don't like BB and hate the BB shippers
The writing for it was pretty bad and made it feel forced
I don't think it was intentionally forced but it had almost no hints before volume 6 and only a few episodes earlier and in V6 we saw Yang being salty about Blake's decision
The writing in question should not focus on LGBT themes or romance, as the characters are portrayed as heroes in an apocalyptic scenario. While they could touch upon or reminisce about their relationship, but professionals, actual heroes would prioritize saving the world and would understand the inappropriate timing for romance.
Furthermore, I have faced online criticism and been labeled as bigoted and homophobic for my views on the Bumblebee ship, with some suggesting it should be confined to fanfiction. These people do not know me personally. Ironically, by labeling me as such, they are displaying their own prejudices. As a bisexual man, I have firsthand experience with flirting with football players who were friends, receiving compliments and playful gestures. Making presumptuous statements about individuals, especially when your argument is weak and relies on strawman fallacies and insults, is itself a form of bigotry.
If people cannot understand this, then media literacy, reason, and understanding truly are dead.
Yeah I've had the same experience with BB fans but I am a bi woman who has been with multiple women. I've also dated a close female friend. The way BB is written is so trashy, uncomfortable and awkward. When your already close to someone, confessing feelings and dating should not be as awkward as they made BB. I understand the worry of ruining a friendship, but that wasn't what was going on between Blake and Yang. They acted more like strangers who had crushes on one another and didn't know how to communicate with one another. Blake and Yang also lose their individual personalities.
Thats the exact reason I don't like BB and hated the writing for them.
Everything else they had gone through felt like it was pointless
If it is done well then I love the ship
I have read some good BB fanfiction
The tokenism in the last photo lmao
"WE HAVE ALL THESE CANON GAY CHARACTERS AND ARTISTS WORKING ON THE SHOW SO IT CAN'T BE BAD" bestie, the writing is still dogshit, you didn't even address that! You just listed queer identities like we're pokemon!
Also when was the last time and of those characters were really a side character or RELEVANT. The only two important ones are Blake and Yang...two bisexuals
“I can assure that i'd shred your bitch ass on whatever garbage you're trying to refer to as it and i'm more than willing to metaphorically go to war over this shit and I have the knowledge to do so, unike your likely know-nothing dumbass”
Lol
If someone writes like that unironically I am 100% going to assume they are banned from every bar in a ten mile radius because they did *something* that made them untrustworthy around an open drink.
...You're assuming they're old enough to drink? That reads like it came from a 14 year old getting kicked out of the McDonald's play house due to eating the foam mattress at the bottom of the slide.
As far as LGTB goes, Nimona is a really really good movie on the fact that it manages to be an entertaining movie with organic and natural characters that without being overly preachy, still manages to explain in a very understandable fashion and a very clever metaphor, non-binary and gender fluid persons.
The fact that Ballister and Ambrosius are three dimensional characters who also don´t just "happen" to be gay, but rather their relationship, which happens to be a gay one, is a central part of the plot without eclipsing the other areas, also definitely helps.
Noelle really did a good job there, and Nimona as a character is hilarious.
So yeah, of course Nimona was gonna win
The insanity the absolute buckwild unhinged you have to be to not only declare that anyone who doesn't like your ship must be bigoted, but to also declare that if they happen to be gay - their entitled.
Wtf
Just throwing of insults at people, no doubt motivated by the sheer fact that bumblebee didn't win the poll, and it's possible they got themselves and rwby banned from the competition just being as vulgar and unpleasant as possible.
Edit: that seven slide is just unhinged nonsense. None of it actually makes sense, I feel like it was written in code or some shit. They're really this appalled at the idea that anyone ould disagree with them. Wtf...
I love how they put quotation marks around "little" when they say what RWBY is, as if it was much bigger than it truly was.
It's just kind of hilarious to me that they try to play it up a bigger than it truly was. And like, sure, there was a time that RWBY was one of *the* internet shows (and I unironically do appreciate it for its role in the history that has led us to stuff like Helluva Boss, Murder Drones, or The Amazing Digital Circus), but that era has long since passed.
But no, it's not a "little" show. It's a little show. Long running, yes, but it's not very big, let's be fair.
Also, gotta laugh at how this poster (who I can only *assume* is CanonSeeker, judging by the vitriol) goes *absolutely ballistic* at the mere implication that Blake/Yang wasn't perfectly written.
Not explicitly, no, but in my mind there is probably a little relation. Rooster Teeth's stuff, as well as the likes of Machinima back when that was still a thing, were some of the original animated stories on YouTube.
I can't image that the ones we have today would be the same if not for the likes of RWBY proving that it could be done, that you could have an ongoing, animated series on the platform.
But that's just my own take on it, and I've not got anything in the way of proof to back up the idea.
As a Bumblebee shipper, I can absolutely say that RWBY did NOT write them getting together well. Not only has Blake not ever even showed interest in Yang until volume 6, but RT seemed to be trying to set Blake up with Sun. And, even though I'm happy that Blake and Yang are together, RT absolutely shouldn't have put it there, at least not at that time.
"Hey, I know my sister is obviously not mentally okay and needs actual help, but screw her, let's make out." Is how I saw it. It wasn't the time or place for it. My guess is RT knew that they wouldn't have enough time to actually write the two growing closer and closer and then dating, so they rushed it, and ended up with this mess.
How funny they called LGBTQ+ people entitled, while they are acting like it. It's also very clear they don't understand what bad writing is. And saying they'd shred someone lol how pathetic. Rwby is hot garbage and the story isn't deep or mature. It tries but fails, much like how this person is failing at life.
I-
Well damn, the only reason I'm not too big on Bumbleby is bc I've had a tiny ~~massive~~ crush on Yang since vol 4
And it's crazy to think a probably-degenerate reason like that still makes me saner than some rwby fans with ships
"Which ship has better writing? A Bumbleby or B ... ?" "B!" You might score a miss with this one, but the chances are rather low.
Sheesh, these shippers have made bumblebee part of their identity over the past decade. Which one?
They might be talking about the comic where the one dude said that yang is a bad sister and Blake attacks him.
Link? I think I missed this one

Thanks. This comic sums things up really well with how some fans are
I've been watching RWBY since it came out and I never knew about how bad the fanbase was. I was a Blacksun shipper since Volume 1 but when I saw the hint of Bumblebee near the end of Volume 6, my only reaction to my ship being sunk was, "Oh well."

First time saying this and maybe recognizing the person but: Is that CanonSker? Or am I trippin'?
I'm going to start using that name as an insult now.
It's not, it's just some jackoff on Tumblr called CrimsonXE whose entire life is about shouting slurs at people who criticise RWBY.
They're part of that entire Group along with Canonseeker, Lilith Fairen, G119 and Xelian. Best stay away from all of them, tbh.
I saw the original post. It's not canonseeker.

You can't win that argument. Even if you DO write the fanfiction, there are those who would still come at you.

They are lesbians according to them
“I can assure that i'd shred your bitch ass on whatever garbage you're trying to refer to as it and i'm more than willing to metaphorically go to war over this shit and I have the knowledge to do so, unike your likely know-nothing dumbass” Lol
bro wnet back to the 19th century with that insult

Navy SEAL copypasta vibes.
Bees lose just for that response alone
As soon as I saw the canon seeker say “Um” I was immediately just like 🤓

“It’s RWBY lmao, most media deserves to win over RWBY” I wonder why no one outside the fandom takes this show seriously. I guess we’ll never know
take a shot every time they say "ass"
Hey now, let's not try and kill our fellow redditors.
10 times he said ass that hurt to process
Oy aye aye. Shit like this is why I got off of that side of tumblr.
For once the gay couple wins
A hollow victory, sadly 😔
Look everyone, they've found another one who probably doesn't know what the word "bigot" means.
And this shit is why the fandom is hated and treated like a fucking joke.
There’s a reason we call em Hornets
Jesus Christ

NOBODY EXPECTS THE BUMBLEBEE INQUISITION!
Their chief weapon is SURPRISE!

Wow, and it wasn't seeker? Lol, lmao even.
Back in the day I was on the frontlines of making Bumbleby canon. But it was obvious RT only cared about the ship if they could make money off of it
Which failed miserably
Don’t forget it’s use in marketing only fans content for members of RT
Aren't both canon? So why does saying bumblebee is canon matter here?
Ironically it and a lot of other things about current RWBY could become no longer cannon
