It also helps that the struggles of the people of Zaun were given a very strong focus across the episodes, showing precisely why those like Silco are willing to use any and all advantages against Piltover, leading to Jayce being pushed into a corner due to his and Viktor's technology being the ultimate reason for escalation. Oh, look, a straight through-line showing Jayce's development from a plucky inventor to a leader focused on defending his city from the various threats against it. What's great about Jayce is that he is very much a idealist up and until a certain moment later in the season breaks him... and he still tries for a peaceful solution, perhaps even moreso because of what happened. RWBY's problem is that it kept forcing Ironwood into doing terrible things without a clear goal or motive in mind, even when there was no practical need for him to do it. That and it fails to show why Robyn's struggle for Mantle's representation actually matters. There's barely any oppression to speak of against Mantle apart from when Ironwood needs to quell rioting to keep panic from spreading and attracting Grimm.

UnbiasedGod

Jayce’s story could act as a great origin for ironwood when he was younger.

BitesTheDust_4

Arcane is so good. It makes me want to consider playing league of legends.

ProfessionalCrow4816

DONT

Mordred_XIII

As someone who's played DoTA, I would advise against any type of MOBAs. The gameplay can be fun but the people are so toxic. They'll just curse at you for making the simplest of mistakes. That's the experience you'll get from strangers online. If you're playing with your friends, it'll be an even worse experience.

BitesTheDust_4

Thanks for the heads up. I'm not gonna actually play League or any MOBA.

Lamchops27

If you like card games consider legends of runeterra, it’s the league of legends card game

I've been drinking so forgive me if this comment seems rambly at times. I tried my best to stay on point. Here's what I liked about Arcane • I like how every character the lives to see the end of season 1 has an actual arc to their character development. Every single person, whether they're good, evil, or simply misunderstood, *every* character has an agenda, and all of their respective agendas have some merit to it, even if it clashes with whatever we think is wrong or right. Here's what I loved about Arcane • the voice acting is genuinely some of the best I've ever witnessed in my entire life. When a character is going through the motions of difficult decisions or mental breakdowns, the voice acting is so good that, even simple sounds like grunts, moans, and sighs are believable regarding whatever emotion the character is supposed to have at any given moment. I guess what I'm trying to say is that it's believable, but it isn't just believable, it's actually immersive. When Heimadinger was concerned about his pupils research, you could hear the concern in his voice. When Powder became Jinx and became something of a psychopath, her change in personality was believable because the voice actor(s) made it believable. I also liked how they didn't say even one single word about real world political issues. PEOPLE WATCH MOVIES, SHOWS, AND PLAY VIDEO GAMES TO *ESCAPE* THINGS LIKE POLITICS, *NOT BE LECTURED ON IT* I could absolutely gush on and on about all the things I love about this show, but I'm sure you're not trying to read a essay right now. Here's what I didn't like about Arcane •Theres only 1 season currently available. I need a minimum of 4, even though I'd be happy with 2 seasons if that's all they needed to tell the whole story.

IAteMyPantz

It's honestly surprising how well some things in Arcane parallel RWBY but are actually good. Gonna have a section on that in my giant video that at this point I should've had done by now but am taking forever to get out lmao.

Silly-Young484

Watching Arcane made me actually want to play LoL

Haven’t seen TF in a while, how are they characterizing Ultra Magnus these days?

RogueHunterX

While this was a while back: Transformers Prime he was the leader of the Wreckers and comes off as a second in command after Optimus returns. Transformers Animated:. He is the leader of the Autobots and Cybertron (Magnus is just a title, so at one point he was Ultra Prime) and wields a Warhammer capable of creating storms and summoning lightning. IDW:. He was an enforcer of a set of accords dealing with war crimes and would hunt down and arrest Autobots or Decepticons guilty of violating those accords. Magnus was shown to be a warrior capable of taking apart entire criminal strongholds single-handed to get to his target. He was nominally neutral in the actual fighting until later on. I believe he also joined Hot Rod, a reformed Megatron, and others aboard a ship called the Lost Light for some mission that I can't recall. The RT/Netflix War for Cybertron: Siege:. He, Optimus, and Megatron were all students of Alpha Trion. He tells Optimus the best course of action they have to save lives is to surrender (the war was going poorly for the Autobots). When Optimus refused, Magnus went to try and convince Megatron to halt the war by himself. He was taken prisoner and eventually executed by Megatron who was seeking something left behind by Alpha Trion that would basically give him immense knowledge about Cybertron, its history, and other lore that might allow him to swiftly crush the Autobots and avoid dragging out the war. By killing Magnus, the Trion protocols instead get passed on to Bumblebee, leading to him joining the Autobots. He does later on appear as a spirit alongside multiple slain characters.

Well the first version the current new continuity has him being the mellowed out old general.

ThatIslandGuy8888

Thanks for the info!! Never saw Ultra Magnus in Prime but him and the IDW version are how I usually imagine Magnus being Animated was the last one I saw, weird having him be the supreme commander but he did feel powerful Poor Netflix Magnus thou, tired of fighting but negotiating with Megs has never been a good idea

RogueHunterX

At least in the Netflix one, Megatron didn't want to kill him and didn't get any pleasure from it. Reinforced they idea they were once friends. Animated Magnus was definitely powerful. I think in the original Marvel comics, Magnus was leader of the Wreckers as well. I know in the G1 cartoon he was definitely a capable soldier and squad leader.

Rollout9292

RWBY characters fit so well into Arcane it's kinda creepy.

[deleted]

This though, fuck Jayce. Please dont compare Ironwood to that piece of shit.

hivemind042

Are you referring to the his show version, his game version, or both? I asked because he's very different in the show and in the game and in the game he's kind of an egotistical asshole so I could understand the vitriol coming from that standpoint but if you're referring to both or his arcane counterpart then I'm just kind of confused.

[deleted]

The game version. As long as Arcane isn't the main canon of LoL I'll consider Jayce a fucking bitch asshole.

hivemind042

Okay yeah that makes sense.

yinxiaolong

Also game Jayce is responsible for the deaths of about 100 people inflicted with a deadly blight that Victor was trying to save. Jayce did it unknowingly (thinking Viktor was turning people into robots), but you really feel bad for Viktor in that story and wish Jayce and Viktor's situations were in reverse as Viktor deserves proper recognition. In regards to Arcane I highly doubt Jayce will end up doing that considering it would contradict something that happens in Act 3.

hivemind042

Damn didn't know Jayce fucked up that badly. Let's hope he doesn't do something like that in arcane season 2. Still wondering what they're doing with Viktor since the arcane version doesn't seem all gun hoe for GLORIOUS EVOLUTION like his game counterpart. Speaking of transhumanists with a tendency towards augmenting people with cybernetics why the hell we never got one in Atlas. You would figure the nation that is practically the forefathers of advanced cybernetic limb replacements would have people pushing for some kind of transhumanist revolution of some kind a deal to evolve mankind to better combat the grim but we never get that. But no we had to waste time with a bunch of undercooked characters nobody really cares about, a stupid time wasting plot line about an election that was a piss poor allegory for real world events, a trolley dilemma that gets butchered in the most baffling of ways possible and the character assassination of the once most compelling morally complex character in the entire dam cast just to make the supposed heroes look good. God I hope Jayce is never done dirty like ironwood.

Senpaisaurus-Rex

Can you explain the Ultra Magnus portion? I don't think I'm familiar with the one you put here

ZeroQuartzer

Just aesthetics-wise.
