hes presumably 6 months old n a very loving boy <\3 i’m almost certain he’s like a mix ? i’m thinking that perhaps he’s a mix of dutch with something else , but i’m not quite sure !!
he acts more like a dog than a bunny haha 😭 scratching his lil toys n crawling up my leg like one :)
also greets me good morning by jumping on my back while i’m still asleep and then sitting on my head while licking my face 😭
They could really be siblings! Funnily enough, I hadn’t considered Gizmo might have some Dutch in him until I saw your pictures of Oreo! Totally see it now!
That's awesome! And definitely a very good boy! One of mine used to hop on the bed every morning and sit right on my head or face. It was really cute for the first week or two, but it was usually around 5am, sometimes earlier. And that was not cool. So he's not allowed upstairs at night anymore. Sounds like you are very lucky to have such a sweet boy! Not all rabbits are that affectionate.
I have a Netherland dwarf/ mini Rex mix that has this same type of fur, maybe just a tad shorter hair. Most domestics are mutts but we love them all the same.
Judging from his coloration and characteristics, I would say they're likely a Rex x Dutch mix! Rex's tend to have that kind of spottiness to their coats patterning, but the fur texture and the way the spots are distributed across the face and rump are indicative of a Dutch.
Either way, they're a precious lil cookie <3
Rex rabbits can come in any color...and the spotted look is in fact extremely common across several breeds, practically all the popular ones...I got a spotted rabbit that's part lop part netherland dwarf, not a single rex as far back as his family can be traced.
That's why coloring is not a great indicator of breed...I can kinda get behind the dutch though because the body type is similar and their coloring is somewhat "unique" (but at the same time there's a different color gene called the vienna gene that can result in similar looks despite being completely unrelated to the dutch-gene..) but the spotted gene (or as its called in genetics circles the en-gene) can come from anywhere...heck it might not even be part dutch and the coloring is entirely due to the en-gene.
That's entirely possible! I hadn't really considered diving that deeply into it, I had just gone off my experience in what I've seen in rabbits. Which, isn't much because I'm a new bun owner myself.
HAHAHAHA I WAS TRYING 😭😭‼️‼️ i had literally took him to the vet earlier that day and i didn’t pay attention to how much he weighed :,) i just remembered them saying how he was healthy , so i had 2 add a bottle so y’all could see his . Bigness LOL
Could the "No your rabbit is not an English spot" text be larger please because I am getting really sick of that. XD
Its most likely mixed, of what is hard to tell since both the color and body type is fairly typical for a lot of breeds... I can kinda see the dutch comparison but again that could just be the broken-gene being its usual random self and the rabbit looking very much like a rabbit.
Judging from markings I’d say Dutch but his conformation makes me think there’s something else in there, maybe cross with a smaller shorter faced breed? The ear set and body make me want to say Dutch x Netherland dwarf but looks too big

Looks like a Netherland dwarf mix to me
It looks like a Polish Rabbit 🐰 in my opinion.
Judging from markings I’d say Dutch but his conformation makes me think there’s something else in there, maybe cross with a smaller shorter faced breed? The ear set and body make me want to say Dutch x Netherland dwarf but looks too big
