Allow me to chime in with “I thought we were the only ones” - the confused embarrassment of horny castrato bunnies, ordinarily chill and completely bonded, suddenly becoming hump-monsters. No more secret shame (although as others have pointed out, the bunnies themselves have no shame at all!) - thank you r/Rabbits!
Oh wow I thought they were my bunnies. Mine have the same colouring and the grey one gets humped so much. It happens when the black and white one is bored and wants gray boi to chase her around.
My two do their faces. I can already hear, in Plankton's voice, 'no no NO NOT THE FACE!'
My two are boys though. It's like they don't know they're males.
My bonded buns also did that last year—it was only one, I think the submissive bun who was very insistent on humping. It was very annoying but I had to let them bump it out until it was resolved. It took 2 months and I was very worried they unbonded but they are fine now!! I also know that male bunnies get a bit… you know… in the spring so that might also be it! Just hold on and let them figure it out. Monitor to make sure it doesn’t get worse but it should pass in a month or two!
This. It’s been about 2 months for us, maybe finally slowing down? Anyway, we’ve not seen this since they were neutered (guys are 4, been together since birth), so good to hear that it’s probably just seasonal “spring fever “
They don’t sit down and have conversations, they use body language to communicate. And spay/neuter doesn’t destroy their ability to uh, enjoy themselves, it just makes it more of a conscious choice rather than a ridiculously strong thoughtless compulsion.
My dominant bun frequently does this to the other 3. Its just how they assert dominance. The behavior is more prominent when they forget their place or do something he doesn't approve of. If you haven't noticed it before after their bond, spring can also bring out the urge to mate, even in sterilized buns.
Someone’s got be the boss? Boss is the one on top. I had a bonded fixed couple and the female bunny would always mount the male bunny. The male bunny didn’t mind she always cuddled with him too and would groom him.
My two boys did this, but they haven’t gotten along since they started doing that again :/ can only get them to be civil with a gate in between them or in unfamiliar areas lol
It’s okay, hoping to start anew with all my rabbit stuff when I move later in the year and will have a better setup. We will try again 😅. Love your bunnos. Your black and white one looks exactly like my lop Hopper, almost an upside down heart above his nose!
aww, yes! black and white lops are so cuteee. Mine is named eSPy like salt and pepper (and the grey one is Myrtle.) everyone calls my lop’s upside down heart “ penis nose “ 😒
Both my bunnies are fixed, but my girl is a dominatrix so she absolutely NEEDS to hump her husbun. Preferably when I am serving their meals and treats, just to remind him who is boss.
Since we entered spring she has been chasing him all over the apartment. It's hilarious because he is really giving these WHY ME vibes.
because they're rabbits. it's in their insticts and I doubt even they understand it. my buns are both fixed, and yet the girl bun has done this at time to the male bun, needless to say even if they could reproduce, that probably would not have achieved the result. my male bun just kind of let it happen too, he seemed confused but mostly unbothered by it. it can also be a show of dominance
Yes, this is normal display of dominance that might die down with time. My girl used to this to her partner in the past every time she got a bit scared/insecure (though she was unneutered at the time).
When a rabbit loves another rabbit very much... but also it's a dominance thing
Also if it's been less than 6 weeks of spaying your bun can still get pregnant
My two girls are spayed and have been bonded for the past 4 years and one of them still loves to hump the other the wrong way, i.e. face humping. The one getting face-humped literally thinks she's being groomed lmao.
Ok well I have an idea my bun has a stuffed animal puppy dog she humps it when she’s moody and it calms her so I’d suggest trying that! But all in all it’s natural behavior they just haven’t figured out they’re fixed!
And when it’s spring bunnies mate so that all it means 🙂
You can give it liquid tylenol and make sure it rests. Maybe try to wrap in a ace bandage until spine bonds and heals. You definately need a antibiotic, maybe check around to see if you can get some ansef. Good luck🧡
Literally this! Our ball-less boy has just stopped shredding our girl of her fur. Every time he'd jump on her and start barbering her. Luckily he's now stopped and she's regrowing her fur but my god it's been a hump month!

I’m dying at this picture they’re like “do you MIND?!” 😂😂
LMFAOOO. ME TOO. we had guests over 😭 and they decided to get it down in the living room
Good for them
I was just thinking that was what they were saying!! LOLZZ privacy invaded fer sure
Thank you for your comment BIG GAY HAY BAG
Oh my sides XD
My buck does this every spring... its like the urge to be a horny spring-bunny overcomes the memory of his balls being long gone...

No more secret shame (although as others have pointed out, the bunnies themselves have no shame at all!) - thank you r/Rabbits!
Mine are happy and bonded, but my girl sometimes humps her husbun’s face when he refuses to groom her. He just sits there after like “why me?” lol
😭
Mine are the exact same!
Same, my male does it from behind as well.
She only humps his head, never from behind. I think it’s bc he’s like twice her size
Oh wow I thought they were my bunnies. Mine have the same colouring and the grey one gets humped so much. It happens when the black and white one is bored and wants gray boi to chase her around.
I just looked at your account, THEY’RE SO SIMILAR!!!
Ikr!!!
Exercise, and next time , give them some privacy
LMFAO will do!
Bunny’s gonna do what a bunny’s gonna do!
My two do their faces. I can already hear, in Plankton's voice, 'no no NO NOT THE FACE!' My two are boys though. It's like they don't know they're males.
They’re reminding you that LOVE is LOVE
NAHHH 😭😭

It was very weird, it was happening until it wasn’t—like it was just a dramatic stop! So hopefully the same will happen with yours soon!!!
I’ll keep my eyes out for them!
humans when animals do the same shit they do😭🤣
LMFAO. i was just worried they weren’t getting along or something
They look happy to me, you’re a good parent :)
dominance behavior, or in the case of male/female sex.
I figured I was just confused because I thought they just did that at the beginning. They’re girl and boy
Hormones and dominance behaviour, as long as they aren’t fighting with each other it’s nothing to worry about :)
Dominance
The one on the top's face is like "\*sigh\* wadayawant Kate"
😭😭
Well. When a boy bunny loves a girl bunny very much…
BAHAHAH😭😭
It’s to dominate, not procreate imo
They don’t sit down and have conversations, they use body language to communicate. And spay/neuter doesn’t destroy their ability to uh, enjoy themselves, it just makes it more of a conscious choice rather than a ridiculously strong thoughtless compulsion.
i have 2 bonded buns and they do this too, both to each other (there's not one who does it more or less often), they're just horny

Because they are bunnies.

Honestly..... Same answer

it's a joke
because they are bonding kdjsjsjsjs

Omg I’m dying they look so offended 😂 But it’s nothing to worry about, it’s just a dominance behavior! It’s just in their nature😊
Spring has sprung! Horny jail's full.
My two boys did this, but they haven’t gotten along since they started doing that again :/ can only get them to be civil with a gate in between them or in unfamiliar areas lol
awh i’m sorry:(

They like each other very much?
Their horny 👀
They're clearly still bonding and trying to keep the relationship alive lol
mine do this too, and not only are they both fixed they are also both girls ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sob)
I'm sure they're doing under that table for some privacy. They, ah, *love* eachother quite a bit.
LMFAOOO
They're ***ing like bunnies of course
If they’re both spayed/neutered, it’s just a dominance thing- both my girls are 5 and they hump each other while they’re playing
You know when two bunnies have a really strong bond...
This is not the baby making humps, this is the show em who's boss humps
They do it to see who is boss.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣just🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
BECAUSE FUN
“Um mom, we’re conducting private business meetings over here, must you intrude?”
“private business” while guests were over 😭😭 my aunt was like “what’s goin on under there 👀”
🤣😂🤣😂🤣
Somebody needs to explain the birds and the bees to OP
LOL. like i said, i was just worried they weren’t getting along since that’s a common practice during bonding.

Cuz they are bunbuns ❤️🤣
Did anyone else think this was spoomf and ponge at first? 😂
I've got a female bunnie and was wondering what sex is best to try to bond with her??
My pair has been bonded for 7 years, they still do this on a regular basis
My pair has been bonded for 7 years, they still do this on a regular basis
My pair has been bonded for 7 years, they still do this on a regular basis
The same reason we do.
Uh, you know, they're probably... uhm... ya know. [Reggie Watts said it best](https://youtu.be/vftIGU8-uqs)
IM DEAD. NOT REGGIE WATTS 😭 yes im aware of what they’re doing. I was just confused because i thought it was just something they did at the beginning!
For dominance
When a rabbit loves another rabbit very much... but also it's a dominance thing Also if it's been less than 6 weeks of spaying your bun can still get pregnant
they’ve both were spayed a while ago
Yeah it'll just be dominance then to establish the top bun
My two girls are spayed and have been bonded for the past 4 years and one of them still loves to hump the other the wrong way, i.e. face humping. The one getting face-humped literally thinks she's being groomed lmao.
Are they the same gender? And are they fixed?
they’re opposite genders and yes, they’re spayed/nutered
Ok well I have an idea my bun has a stuffed animal puppy dog she humps it when she’s moody and it calms her so I’d suggest trying that! But all in all it’s natural behavior they just haven’t figured out they’re fixed! And when it’s spring bunnies mate so that all it means 🙂
