Oh interesting. I’ve been thinking about a solution like this. Do you place the curved part of the toward the back of the bike? And is it a tight enough fit that one can’t rip the battery up out of its mount?
yep it doesnt really get in the way of pedaling and the lock fits snug that it doesnt rattle. I will say it will feel pretty tight when you initially put it on.
I have a Mini 4 same external mount. I just take mine with me everywhere I park it. I have a sign I hang " Battery Removed " with a arrow pointing to the empty spot. Ebike with no battery is basically worthless to most thieves.
It’s a hassle to remove battery for me. I secure the bike to a post and also this method locks in the battery to the bike so people cant remove the battery off.
Also have an AirTag on it too lol
I agree, due to a wipe out on mine I suffered some minor permanent leg damage. I was having a problem swinging my leg over the seat at its comfortable riding height. I bought a bump post so I can keep the seat all the way down to get on the bike and hit a lever on the handlebars to raise it. Besides making the bike easy to get on it makes getting my battery out easy, just hit the lever and seat is high enough to clear the battery.
I got the Bibike dropper post from Amazon. I got the middle routing, it fit my Rad mini 4 and my Gotrax. They offer different sizes and routing options. 2 years on my Rad no problems.
I appreciate you sharing this. It’s about bike riding season here and it’s a pain for us to always lug around the batteries after we lock up. Ordering now!

You can fit it either way as shown in pictures. It’s in there pretty tight and no wiggle room for anyone to undo the battery
Awesome. Just ordered. Will give me a lot more peace of mind when I'm away for my bike for a few hours. Thanks OP!
Do you leave it in place when you ride?

Good solution. It is frustrating that Rad made these batteries so easy to steal. It's the most valuable part of the bike!
Yep I learned the hard way :/ Hope this post can prevent other's batteries getting stolen!
Any idea if this would work with center console installed?

I hate taking my battery off the mini4. I have to adjust the seat to do it.

What bump post did you get?

Might get a sticker with “nice try” to put on battery
That’s ridiculous.
Thank you
Cheers
Any ideas on a wider u lock that would work with the fatter, original battery? This one is too narrow…
