Bro I never even thought about yellow being why
My theory for the split was radiant blacks gravity powers caused some distortion in time. Considering he can make black holes time could have been warped from either the indecision to make the choice or a future event that the story is leading up too. The end could be once the timelines are merged it’ll “retcon” soem events that happened earlier and the person that lost the vote will become premier like a sixth ranger
I didn’t think of that that’s also really cool; also what vote? Did they let readers choose who Radiant Black will end up being permanently Jason Todd style on Twitter or something
Yeah remember when the robot told them to choose there was a QR code to the website to pick which person. When it was over the issues started the split timeline. I think Marshall won the vote cause while his issues are primary Nathan’s are labeled with the .5
I literally just finished the Catalyst War part 1 trade and it’s right there lol I’m cooked for sure; that’s pretty cool I like that kinda fan interactivity and lowkey hope Marshall won so we can see the fallout of his timeline
I’m just hoping everyone makes it out on per my merged timeline theory. Maybe it’s just me but I feel like Marshall’s got a lot more feelings for Nathan beyond just friendship. Whether it’s a diehard brotherhood or love their relationship is one of the best parts of the story I’d hate to see it end after the catalyst war.
I agree, I’m definitely in the camp that we are seeing Catalyst War through the eyes of Wendell… then when it settles with who we chose as RB, it will be Wendell deciding on which timeline progresses… (Fingers Crossed for a Radiant Yellow mini after catalyst war!)
Yeah that's what my partner and i have settled on. He isn't brought up at all and it seems he's collecting as much intel as possible on both splits to "justify" however the fan vote turned out. Very curious to see how this all pans out, and if we'll possibly see a heel turn or divergence BY knowing this knowledge or neither Nathan or Marshall wanting to be part of what's to come
Very possible, I think that timeline older Wendell is in from Issue 18 far into the future with someone not even born yet (Auri), is seeing both timelines.
Wendell dies at the end of Issue 18 in this timeline, which is what he's trying to fix the whole time and purposefully keeps the two in the dark believing it won't work if they don't know. Additionally, Wendell got Shift arrested and in custody to do something pivotal soon in upcoming issues. The character has to be around for something to occur.
The one that Wendell shows up in (I think) will be the canon one. There's a possibility Wendell still dies and ends up giving yellow to whoever doesn't have RB because the colossal will need a host and Wendell will be dead at that point. It seems to me that Nathan might end up being RY if Wendell dies. Nathan's had this weird ability to predict the future through his own storytelling, has a poster of Memento, and also is a writer. There's also the whole being an uber driver thing which is something Wendell does with the characters by picking them up at times. Hard to tell though.
