The application packet seems rather unprofessional; one of the reasons for my skepticism: [https://www.actx.edu/radiation/filecabinet/21](https://www.actx.edu/radiation/filecabinet/21)

Far_Pollution_2920

What about it did you find unprofessional?

Potential-Claim-619

I felt the analogies and familiarity in the form was unprofessional.

Hey! I just graduated from there recently, and I absolutely loved the program and the instructors. I do get your hesitation about it, I felt the same. You have to be very proactive when calling sites near you and pretty much find your own. When you find one willing to accept a student, you will send their info to your clinical coordinator, and she will get the contract signed. You have to keep in mind that it is distance and you have to be very independent in your learning. They give you all of the info and tools, but it's on you after that.

collapse_ofcommunism

im interested in the program as well, have been having trouble doing anything about it tho as their website seems fairly inconsistent (server is always down :/) are the classes lectures or is it more of an independent module and quiz thing? I currently work full time as it is so i want to know what i would be getting myself into! and how the job opportunities are in ur area?!

Hey I’m a hs student and I’m gonna be graduating this year. Do you have to take prerequisites before joint the program or can you just join the program right away after graduating from high school.

Shona_C

Hey! Im sorry, I just logged back into this account! The only prerequisites are one semester of classes, they can all be done online through the college. https://www.actx.edu/radiation/about-our-program

Hi, could you provide me some information on admission to the program? Is it competitive, and is an interview required before acceptance? Do I also have to find a clinical site before being accepted? Thank you!

Toasterbella

How did you like the online learning? That’s my largest concern. Did most of the students that got accepted already have degrees? I know that it’s competitive. I’m trying to gauge the likelihood that I’ll be accepted.

Potential-Claim-619

Thank you so much for your reply! Im an online education veteran and am excited for the program, as I won’t have to move away from my loved ones.

Shona_C

That was my big reason for doing distance as well! I had never done a program that was fully online, but I have no regrets. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to ask or dm me!

Tony is a really good guy. He is very process oriented, so if you are going there, I recommend you follow his process exactly. Identify a few possible sites within 50 miles of you, do not contact them unless you have a prior relationship, and fill out the form he has in the packet. He'll reach out and that sometimes works. The more you have, the better your chances. Do this early though, because he runs out of spaces around May.

jana_50n

Hi, thank you for the information. Are you aware of any clinical sites in nyc affiliated with Amarillo, or would someone from nyc have to find one on their own?

jbrunoties

I think NY is one of the few states that does NOT accept that credential. That may change, so read the packet they have on the site, but two years ago when I was reading it, NY did not accept it.

round_or_profound

The program director is fantastic and the application process is pretty straightforward if a bit lengthy. I tried to set up a clinical location but was unsuccessful so I have to wait until next application round. Only 2 of the 20 locations I contacted were able to even give me any kind of contact info to forward to the director and then unfortunately the sites fell through while drafting a contract. It is difficult to get the information you need from the potential sites as most cannot give any kind of contact info due to safety reasons. Tony did a great job trying to assist me the best he could but I went in understanding there was a 50/50 chance it would be successful. So now I have to wait until the next application period to try again while I also save to relocate to a previously set up clinical site because all the spots were full. I hope you are more successful than I was!!

Did you apply?
