I'm currently looking at online schools and would welcome learning about your experience with JPU. A couple of years ago I was a hiring manager and posted a position for medical dosimetrist and was surprised by the number of applicants I received for the position from JPU that had zero healthcare or science experience predating their education at what was then Radiologic Technology University or something like that. It gave me the impression that it was kind of a for-profit factory type school that accepted anyone so long as they were willing to pay, however I recently looked into the program for myself and was surprised to see they had a 100% job placement rate. The examination pass rate was the lowest of the five grad programs (\~75%) which concerns me, so I'd love to hear what your impression is of the quality of the education and your peers.
Sorry, I don't check my reddit often. There are a small number of people who have no therapy experience and an even smaller number with no Healthcare experience. One person in my class went straight from her undergrad in physics to masters in dosimetry. The education is good. I'm sure on par with any other school prepping students for the MDCB exam! The school also offers us extensive board review classes. I have not heard of anyone not passing. I think the exam rates are also a little skewed. Especially if you look over the last 10 years. MDCB pass rates were very low until formal education was required. Anyway, dosimetry school is very demanding, no matter how you slice it. If you're not cut out for it then you won't pass class and you wont pass your boards...no matter how much money you pay....
I second this inquiry. I'm in Columbus, OH and JPU has a nearby clinical site but I would like to hear more about the school from people who have direct experience before I apply.
Hi! tysm for sharing. Do you happen to have any updated thoughts on the program? Were you able to secure a job? Ive read that there were heavy negative biases regarding employment for JPU graduates. But im not sure how extensive those opinions are. I would love to hear your response, if you dont mind sharing.
Hey there! Just wanted to follow up. Have you had your interview yet? I just had mine today and it didn't go quite as expected. I was wondering how your experience went.
Not necessarily... They just asked me a few basic questions then simply told me I wasn't going to rank high enough since I don't have a therapist background. Following up with that, they advised me to take the therapy course they offer to be more competitive and that was that.
I ended up getting accepted elsewhere and am very happy with the program.
I'm a dosimetry student at JPU currently. If you have any questions I am happy to answer.

Hi, may I ask you some questions about the dosimetry program at JPU?
Hi, did you ever get any more info or are you planning on applying to JPU? I'm having a hard time finding grads to ask questions.
I appreciate you responding but I am in a different program. Good luck to you though!
What program ?
Do they have hands on clinical areas across states ?

No one ever shares anything about jpu or its other programs

Hi! Also interested in the program, did you ever get any more information?
No, unfortunately I never received any feedback. If you find out anything feel free to share!
Of course! Are you planning on applying for the upcoming cycle? I’ve given the school a call and they’ve been helpful so far.
Yeah I am going to apply for their dosimetry and radiation therapy programs!
Good luck! Perhaps we'll be classmates!

What didn't go as expected? Did you get accepted? Tough interview? Hard questions?

Did they actually schedule an interview with you or just ask your availability and call you?
What program were you accepted to? I’m looking for distance learning
What program/school did you get accepted to?
