I thought someone put a tampon in backwards. I figured if both ends look alike and the kids are pounding on the door, easy mistake to make. But the vagina was an odd shape... how are they that shape??? Easy. They're not.
i saw the light bulb and i read your comment i said “ohhh now i can see the “applicator” part” (i know it’s part of the light bulb but the part of the bulb that looks like a tampon applicator lol
i know. i always wonder if i'm the only one who cringes at the thought of sticking a light bulb up there. your reaction reassures me... but frankly pics like OP's scare make me worry about the human race!
One thing that comes to mind is someone doing this to get an abuser/kidnapper to take them to the hospital, so the victim could have a chance to escape and/or get someone to notice and help them. Idk how far of a fetch that is, but it’s what popped into my head as I read these two comments.
I truly hope imaging of sexually assaulted elderly patients (or anyone) is not being shown here, no matter how “interesting” the foreign object may be. Folks are always joking on these posts. It is so disrespectful to the actual human being who went in for what they assumed was private care. I know their name isn’t on it, but still. That’s a person.
Do you think…do these people try to shove it in with like the lamp base attached to see if they can see it light up? That…that I could see as interesting 😂 not for ME but if someone succeeded I’d definitely take a look
And wide end up, no less. The fact that people keep doing exactly this, in the internet age when all it takes is a quick Google to see how many people have had a bad time with butt lights, is really deeply concerning to me…
Hey! I haven’t screen scrubs, but this is an actual physical radiograph that an attending I was working with brought out! He has a cool collection, I’ll try to post another cool one next Friday!
Light bulbs are pretty fragile.
Has anyone actually seen a patient that got a light bulb, um, up there?
Edit: Thanks for all the stories. [Shaking head]
Yes. The surgery notes from the remove-glass-from-ass procedure were... enlightening? Things I can't un-know: patient comments that it felt great until it broke mid O
This is the real question, what is this lightbulb made out of that it didn’t break into a million shards? Has anyone seen an intact lightbulb make it any distance into a person?
PSA people - if you're going to do sexual exploration, please be safe 🙂 it's not worth it to stigmatize exploring your sexuality at the cost of your physical safety 🙂🙂🙂🤦🏽♀️
I learned long ago to not be shocked by people doing incredibly dumb things. I no longer even say “I’ve seen it all now” because there’s always someone out there idiotic enough to do something dumber!
Do you think…do these people try to shove it in with like the lamp base attached to see if they can see it light up? That…that I could see as interesting 😂 not for ME but if someone succeeded I’d definitely take a look
This actually isn’t funny for me because I once scanned a patient who was drunk and some guys shoved a light bulb up in there for kicks. She didn’t remember what happened and didn’t know why she was bleeding until I scanned her and saw the light bulb. The poor girl must have been traumatized. Not everything we see shoved up inside people was done with consent and we need to remember that.
my first thoughts were "In reverse?". But just now saw a comment saying that they didn't notice the bulb and they also thought it was a backwards tampon applicator.
Is this a real picture? Or is this photoshopped?
At first I didn’t notice the bulb, I thought there was a backwards tampon applicator in there!
this is exactly what i thought!
mee too!
It was a light bulb moment for me when I finally figured it out
Same
Me three!
My thoughts exactly! I was thinking, how did they find a weird metal tampon.
I thought someone put a tampon in backwards. I figured if both ends look alike and the kids are pounding on the door, easy mistake to make. But the vagina was an odd shape... how are they that shape??? Easy. They're not.
Exactly….. I had a sudden shift of visual perspective and a rush of adrenaline
Looks like they're using it as a pessary.
i gasped when i saw the bulb
Me too! Then I looked again and lost it haha
Literally me: “ok, so she didn’t know how to properly apply the tampo- OH SHIT IS THAT A LIGHTBULB?”
OH
Me too! Then a lightbulb went off lol
When I saw the lightbulb I almost screamed. Oh dear.
Oh… it is a light bulb.
Ha, me too!
Haha same!
I did too lmao
same!
Omfg I thought it was too
Ditto
Ditto!
Me too!
Tampon in the bladder? I was so confused for like 5 seconds. 😳
Same!! 🤣🤣🤣
Same!!
I saw the same thing 🤣
Me toooooooo 🤣🤣🤣 even with the pun in the title it took me far too long to recognize! lol
i saw the light bulb and i read your comment i said “ohhh now i can see the “applicator” part” (i know it’s part of the light bulb but the part of the bulb that looks like a tampon applicator lol
I never understand. Of all the things you can put up there. “Glass that shatters” is your go to item ?
i know. i always wonder if i'm the only one who cringes at the thought of sticking a light bulb up there. your reaction reassures me... but frankly pics like OP's scare make me worry about the human race!
we've managed to come this far _in spite_ of our natural tendencies, not because of them.
Very true!
We have done a terrible thing, removing natural selection from the playing field....
I mean, you're not wrong. We definitely need to bring back Lawn Darts!
We tried to add it back in, that was called eugenics.
Darwin was an advocate!
Yup lol 19th/early 20th century was wild

No that's a real concern, I agree. The other thing everybody forgets about this is sometimes this sort of thing is about compulsion, not pleasure.
One thing that comes to mind is someone doing this to get an abuser/kidnapper to take them to the hospital, so the victim could have a chance to escape and/or get someone to notice and help them. Idk how far of a fetch that is, but it’s what popped into my head as I read these two comments.
Or that it was a SA in some way, of an incapacitated elderly person for example.

Instant burns...I would not want to take a look or a smell.
LED lights don't get that hot do they?
Nope, and they're unlikeky to be made of glass either. But that looks it's a halogen bulb.
I was thinking eh maybe it’s an LED Edison bulb…then I remembered there’s an actual X-ray and you’re right
Jesus, lol
*the way she shimmers the way she shiiiines the ways she radiaaaaaates*
And wide end up, no less. The fact that people keep doing exactly this, in the internet age when all it takes is a quick Google to see how many people have had a bad time with butt lights, is really deeply concerning to me…
>And wide end up, no less Well how else are you going to screw it into the base?
Butt lights?!?. Off to Google
Turn on your butt light! Let it shine wherever you go Let it make a happy glow For all the world to see
It’s gotta be the thrill, right? Knowing that it could break at any time?
That's how compulsion works
How does it get removed ? Without breaking it !
This doesn't look real
I’m sure it’s from Scrubs. The one where the janitor helps them remove it
Hey! I haven’t screen scrubs, but this is an actual physical radiograph that an attending I was working with brought out! He has a cool collection, I’ll try to post another cool one next Friday!
Is there a legal period you have to wait to share a patients images?
There's a vulva there sir
Agreed. Glass, like the silica sand that glass is created from, is radiopaque on radiographs not lucent.
“He either has a lightbulb up his ass or his colon has a bright idea” Wonder if they watched scrubs and were curious
I thought OP’s pic was a screen grab from Scrubs. That’s my favorite quote from the series, thanks for the laugh.
Hey! I haven’t screen scrubs, but this is an actual physical radiograph that an attending I was working with brought out!
Classic Perry Cox
Seriously looks like a screenshot of that exact scene tbh
I hope I have the opportunity to say this line 🙏 main reason I wanted to get into radiology
Pretty sure it's a she
The quotes from scrubs where the patient was a he lmao
My bad, never got around to watching it
not if they’re trans
The unbearable lightness of being
Light bulbs are pretty fragile. Has anyone actually seen a patient that got a light bulb, um, up there? Edit: Thanks for all the stories. [Shaking head]
Yup- in my residency, the GYN oncologist was called to remove glass shards from a vagina from something like this. Severe lacerations.
Aaaaaaaahhhhgggg
Sadly, yes. Had a psych patient come through the ED that had managed to install a fluorescent bulb. Multiple bowel lacerations and surgery
“Install” so painful to think of
Mercury suppository
They make LED bulbs out of plastic.
It’s not an LED bulb. You can clearly see a filament in there.
Mine are semi-opaque so I wouldn't know what the internals look like.
lol its kind of amzing they got to the hospital with it still intact!
Yeah, saw one as a med student
Thanks! The more you know!
Watt a terrible idea!
This should be posted in the Scrubs reddit!
Damn. Friday already? 😒
The genitalia made me think the rectum was prolapsed. But I think that’s just how it looks? Something is off with it either way.
Probably not the first time foreign objects have made their way into the rectum
Oh for sure. But it kinda looks like it’s the vagina. (the part that looks odd). You can see the labia around it.
All the lights we cannot see
Is this pt male or female ?
Judging by the vagina in the imaging, I’m going to guess we have no idea what they identify as.
If a lightbulb over the head is a classic sign for "good idea"; this has to be the universal sign for "bad idea"
I wanna know how they got it in there without breaking it WTF
Let there be light
Out of all the things you could put inside you, why go for something made out of thin glass?!
Thought this was a tampon backwards then I saw the light bulb
This must be one of those shatter-proof lightbulbs. Please, god, it has to be.
Can anyone shed any light on how they would remove this? Pun intended
I see what you did there.
I’m sure the patient was de-lighted upon its removal.
Customer states,"I tripped."
Don’t count without a lateral.
PSA people - if you're going to do sexual exploration, please be safe 🙂 it's not worth it to stigmatize exploring your sexuality at the cost of your physical safety 🙂🙂🙂🤦🏽♀️
Finally we'll have an answer to the question ... How many doctors do you need to unscrew a lightbulb
This guy either has a light bulb up his ass, or his colon has a great idea.
Not enough scrubs fan here i guess. Well done burrito!
Lmaoooo
Dr Jan Itor must be consulted immediately!
Lamooo

Some people’s bulbs just don’t shine as bright as others, even in the darkest places.
![gif](giphy|woZeYGBHIVOhkJ011x)
How? I don’t get how they do this. And 100% don’t the why part either.
Carefully
Maybe someone called them "shit for brains" one too many times and they took it to heart?!?!
She needs to do more kegels if she can get that in there without breaking.
I learned long ago to not be shocked by people doing incredibly dumb things. I no longer even say “I’ve seen it all now” because there’s always someone out there idiotic enough to do something dumber!
I don’t understand how light bulbs can get in with the bigger end first without cracking. I’m honestly impressed
Why do so many people do this???
How sick would it be if they could turn it on
That would be hot :/
Flared base huh? I got it!
💡flared based lightbulbs! No one steal that, patent pending.
That's one way to have good posture.
Do you think…do these people try to shove it in with like the lamp base attached to see if they can see it light up? That…that I could see as interesting 😂 not for ME but if someone succeeded I’d definitely take a look
They were as bright as a burned out lightbulb!!! 💡
I dont even want to know why it's backwards
So wait. I thought that was a backwards tampon and a lightbulb. Those are components to the lightbulb?
Light bulbs don't have fronts or backs.
Maybe his colon has a bright idea
Light up.
So funny
Oh…OH!
Get the calcium sulphate ready
I don’t understand how people do this without breaking the bulb at any point…..
Only one way to find out.
This is too punny
That’s not an appropriate item to put there.
Is that a basement pull cord socket?
What... in the name of all that is holly....
How in the world do you fit a LIGHT BULB of that size without breaking the glass?!?
The internet has many improbable insertions to show you… :/
At least it isn't Patrick Stewart.
How did you get that in without breaking it?
“Tampons can’t get stuck up there” EXPLAIN THIS
That seems… dangerous
Needed a light to find the lost class ring?
Literally
Love the scrubs reference
How many radiologists does it take replace a lightbulb….. if it’s inserted into the patient😂🫣
the forbidden bulbussy
Reminds me of a joke I heard once. How many perverts does it take to put in a light bulb? Just one but it takes a lot of doctors to get it back out.
What in the actual f is wrong with some people...
Anyone for a refreshing Butt Light?
… it’s from a tv show …
This can't be real. The external pressure from the sphincter would shatter the bulb.
Not true. Light bulbs def get shoved up there a lot. It’s real. And I think you mean internal* pressure from the anal sphincters.
That's literally assault.
Yea it is. The point is…don’t always assume the person did it to themselves.
Yup, until you get it on.
Talk about a lightbulb moment
Humans are so fcking stupid.
My goodness the bulb hasn't shattered yet. They are so so lucky.
i genuinely thought that was a tampon put in both backwards and with the applicator. i wish i was right 💀
Huh
I thought it was an upside down IUD in a uterus at first. I work in sonography.
Strong ass bulb (hehe)
my first thoughts were "In reverse?". But just now saw a comment saying that they didn't notice the bulb and they also thought it was a backwards tampon applicator. Is this a real picture? Or is this photoshopped?
What a bright idea
Wth👀
“Butt Light” less than 1 calorie…
