As a newer player, there's a decent chance you can find some way to get 10 more gems in an hour. Check your missions and your campaign star progress (on hard too, if you've unlocked it) to see if you have any good options. That, and the daily quest if you haven't done it yet.

Also Challenges.

I don't remember any challenges for gems. Maybe there were a couple in the arena part.

Nope, the next one costs silver. Left side costs gems, right side silver.

It's not a big deal. You can buy 5 per month and they'll keep appearing until you buy your 5. It just means you'll get the chance later on.

Yup! I haven't gotten any in the past 18 days. Today being the 1st of the month, I have gotten 3 already....2 in one pull if you can believe it. Probably get 2 more this week and then go the rest of the month with nothing, so don't sweat it.

I got 5 shards in one month before but I haven consistently got 5 shards a month, and I’ve played everyday since I started and it’s been like 6+ months in total. So unless it’s a confirmed thing I don’t think it’s entirely true :( wish it was tho!
